How to make the worst challenge mode ever: Add randomly spawning collectibles to a time-based item collecting survival mode. Death mode is not frustrating because it's hard. It's frustrating because it's 100% luck based.
Whoever thought this one was a good level (or the death mode in general) clearly had the wrong idea of challenging. Not every attempt is even doable with that strict time limit. Took me like an hour to luck it out with 0.6 seconds left. One thing that helped me get trough this level was that I learned to do those kind of correction jumps to get back in sync as seen in this video at 0:21
I followed the advice of Steve Koontz (in the comments below), and got it in the first 15 minutes using his method: "just jump left-to-right and right-to-left on all the pillars without stopping for any note that appears next to you. Do not try to change direction to get notes. It's too hard. Just keep jumping and eventually you will get a game that puts most of the notes in your path." I'm only re-posting his advice so more people can see; if it works, scroll down and like his comment! It takes patience, but eventually you will have the rhythm AND get a game of good spawns. I had 2.8 seconds on the clock left when I beat it.

I found that the easiest thing to do is just jump left-to-right and right-to-left on all the pillars without stopping for any note that appears next to you. It takes time, since you have to wait for a game that pops the notes into your routine. It took me 20 minutes to get a favorable game. Do not try to change direction to get notes. It's too hard. Just keep jumping and eventually you will get a game that puts most of the notes in your path. Believe me, it's 100x easier to just keep jumping and ignore the notes than to try to adjust your jumping to where the notes pop.
Thanks so much! I beat it in 15 minutes using this method. It was tempting to switch directions sometimes, but it always messed everything up. It really was easier to just keep the rhythm going and wait for a good game.
Boom! Just beat it with this advice. One thing that helped tremendously for me also is watching and timing the pillars' red things coming up. I died countless times from being clumsy and not watching when the pillars were about to rise. Timing haha
This was probably the most challenging one for me personally. Two tips: First, the four pulses move in order from left to right. Use this to your advantage to avoid getting zapped. I didn't notice this myself until my last 10 attempts when I finally successfully completed the run. Second, don't make unnecessary jumps in the opposite direction of a respawning coin. Always keep an eye out to where they respawn. No room for errors Death mode can be challenging at first but persistence pays off.
This was the hardest level, it took me like 4 hours. As soon as you spawn, make sure the first note is on the right and use the strategy right to left, left to right until almost the end.If you are just seconds away of winning, brake the patter and go for the last couple of notes. Good luck and take a break from time to time.
100% agree. This was my last level before the plat and it really tried my patience. Your jumps need to be near perfect, you have to nail the timing, and this is one of those few levels where it didn't feel there was enough time to complete. Btw your advice was greatly appreciated.

The first version of this level was really easy got it done in 5 minutes and I haven't spent much time on this level but it got annoying that I kept dying and I thought I was doing it wrong

Even when you have a perfect run, you still cant finish that ******* level.... 3+ hours and counting.....
