~TL Notes~
2:59 - TL error - She says that it was probably an issue of not having enough time to go in depth about the origin of the dances.
4:29 - I might do a short video on the poem she wrote about this as she explains the meaning in this same stream
5:41 - 一期一会(ichigoichie - one moment one meeting) I couldn't think of an equivalent idiom to match the 4-kanji idiom. The closest were You only live once(Big no because of YOLO's negative connotation of embracing recklessness vs Buddhist interpretation of life's transience) or Carpe Diem(Still not quite right, because 一期一会 is more about cherishing your time spent with others because every moment is unique). I decided to just convey the meaning itself as it sounded idiomatic as is.
5:51 - カッカしなさんな(kakka shinasanna - Don't be upset) Possible older Kyushu or Western Japan area dialect? So I went with an old slangy sounding "Don't get your britches in a bunch"
Thanks for the translation and the tl notes. Really emgaging, and as a poet I would be really interested in that poem =P
2:59 in this context 尺 refers to the time available for a TV segment, so she's saying they probably didn't have time to go in depth about the origin of the dance, not so much about the "scale" of anything.
Ah, that makes sense! Thanks!
Added a note to the pinned comment! Thanks again!
You’ve earned my subscription by choosing to not translate what she said as “yolo” and explaining it instead.
This was a wonderful translation, thank you for your work and translator’s notes.
About "かっかしなさんな", it is used wherever not limited in Japan.
Creds also to Bakakunsansei since he was the one who made the animation and first remix of Maitake, which then got noticed by Raden and worked together on the longer version.
It's wild seeing Raden in her home 3D. Like, I thought it was just the Live2D rigging that made her move around so much, but she really does move around that much. She's just a ball of energy
Well, it's only been 2 weeks since ReGloss had 3D.
similar case with Subarudo duck dance meme
That gif of the subaru duck dancing is a permanent emote on Kick lol
@@Xemphas and the original artist and Subaru got 0 recognition.
They don't really need to explicitly say where they come from, I fell into the Hololive rabbit hole because of the subarudo duck dance meme, I had no idea what vtubers were before
And Shigure Ui loli animation. Even big brands like BMW use it without credit.
Man, it really sucks her not being credited
I hope more people know about after this program
still admiring how pretty her 3D model is
I imagine the JP bros are going to blow up that TV program with messages about them not crediting Raden
Even if she isn't credited, its easy to search the song and find out who made it. If the TV show is bombarded with hate mail, it will only cause disdain towards the fandom.
@@h3II0MN123The lack of crediting the source shows a lack of quality in production. Considering how they went out to speak to her directly, then it not being included, is probably the director’s fault, finding a disinterest in it. They were probably expecting some super famous person to be the reason behind it, so that the news channel can ride off their popularity.
If they dug a bit deeper they’d see the cultural and artistic depth she has that makes her distinct from your average vtuber. The news wouldn’t strike with the youth, but of the older group, which is a more reliable audience.
Some are, but most of the ones I saw were basically saying, "relax, calm down, and don't tarnish Raden's name"
An optimist who at rare times are pessimistic. She knows it herself and always try to stay positive. Dont see it as a sad thing, rather a sign for her to do her best so people would know her.
Still rude of them to not mention the source. They even contacted and informed her that they would use her video/audio. They know the source. Shame for a media entity to fail like this. They probably already post on twitter to clarify at this point.
Hopefully she continues to get a lot more exposure to balance things out.
Somehow it doesn’t surprise me that Raden has written theses and research papers before, it seems like something she would do
I'm saying this not as a hololive fans, but if someone used something that's made by other person, crediting the creator is a norm.
Props to Raden not wanting to make a fuss, but still it would make Dendoushi kinda sad.
If Fortnite puts her dance in the game they better credit her
Chances like this don't present themselves often. Raden should seek being credited for her creation. If she's just glad that it was presented without her being credited for its creation then it's her choice. It must be the educator in her that makes Raden choose to share it instead of claiming it. It just shows how selfless Raden is in general.
Classic example of mainstream media being opportunistic
Still sucks she missed the chance to get the spotlight on TV but she took it just how I expected she would, humble girl she is. We will be there when she does blow up one day :D
While it's a shame ahe didn't get directly credited, Raden is so cute reccomending dendoshi to put pen to paper to make poems with their emotions. As expected, she's someone who loves the arts.
Even though she wasn't shown directly, its still proof that JFT has been doing amazing lately. It's only a matter of time until she reaches 1 mil, and I am SO looking forward to it :)
Raden is that type of person who already be very very happy by simply upgrading her bow
That's sad, hope she'll get credited one day. It's just Subaru's dance back then. They deserve more popularity!😭😭
raden is so amazing and mature!
Can't believe we didn't even get to see the clips of the dances shown. 🤦
1 Raden = 3 hours
So they asked her permission and yet still fail to credit her? That's so damn low.
Ah come on. There is no reason they couldn't have had a little text ribbon with credit pop up in a corner. Doesn't have to be all in your face or even take up time. Just a little blip of "original by Juufuutei Raden of Hololive" followed by "animated by Bakakunsansei" would have done it.
Mezamashi is a famous morning TV show in Japan and it's not the first time hololive content appeared.
There was once a time when a certain sheep appeared there to play janken.
Many of us as fans of Raden mentioning about how they don't credit her for her works which is very bad tho. She's an idol and they took her things without credit her
This is sad...
Not crediting Raden or anyone for using their content is just rude in itself.
Raden is so cute, time to learn japanese I guess? XD
3:52 so this is basically japan's version of brainrot lmao
well...we got to make another vid viral again I guess 😛do your thing chat!
Credit the original creator, tales old as time
It is so sad that she tried to tell her fans not to be disappointed...
It's also the eternal question of the internet today: who owns the memes? Once it gets out there and goes viral, how do you assert copyright?
Thats only applicable to memes/videos that a person created tru stiches from other source(voice, animation) while those two short clips featured were Raden's own videos created by her and Bakakunsansei
they better credit raden cuz otherwise i might have to call the oversea bros and pull up
Puulll up!
🤔 her neck is slightly tilted, maybe it's just me lol
I guess for us who are used to watching content on youtube we have kinda grown to expect a source to be mentioned, even if you took the idea from somewhere. But on rules on TV are slightly different because of some homeground bias. I remember tom scott made a video about this th-cam.com/video/L-x8DYTOv7w/w-d-xo.html
even if Raden doesn't get credited a lot of people already know it is her dance, as she said in the vid there may be some reasons in place. For the people who don't a quick search and the info will pop up anw.
there're Japan youths who watch vtubers or have friends who do call Raden mushroom lady
The point is to have more people who DOES NOT know about her, will know and check her out. By not crediting her, the TV Station closed off (or made it significantly harder) that possibility.
Fame via things like this has its downsides
You know this kind of reminds me of that plot point in Oshi no Ko where the TV show is disrepecful to cosplayers because theyre so tight on time to cope with how much weaker terrestrial TV is
well time for me to make a meme about how bad tv Japanese to not credit raden on reddit
On the one hand, it is a bummer not to be able to use a viral meme to get your name out there. (Have there been a whole lot of those? Maybe in TH-cam's infancy...)
On the other hand, it's an out - you don't wanna become known for just the one thing that went viral everywhere, that's not super sustainable for activities long term
So yeah, frustrating that she's not able to get her name out there more, but those who want to find her will, and I think that's the best thing here.
Its pretty much called advertisement and alot of company pays big money just for their name to get notice its not about sustainable but putting your name out there for people to see.
Well she could get back at them by writing another song about not being credited in a poetic way. similarly to how rappers throw shade at other rappers as a single line in a song. but being more subtle and alluding to it and not directly calling them out.
Raden isn't that petty, I would assume.
Raden is pretty smart. I think she gets that it is really hard for a meme to go viral while crediting the creator. Never mind the difficulties with monetizing it. The idea that ideas belong to people in some substantial way is a weird quirk of modernity - well past time to give it up.
Those two clips they featured were Raden's own meme created by her and the animator so its definitely belongs to her.
Time to boycott tv guy
anyone have the source for the tv clip of it?
....JP BROS. YOU HAVE A DUTY NOW. GO SPREAD THE RESISTANCE.
intentional, they pretend not to know so they don't have to pay for the permission
Doesn't really make sense since they contacted her beforehand and told her when they would air the segment.
Its pretty much an employee from the tv station task to get permission talked to them but the entire segment still at the hands of the segment director so that director didnt want to include/mention the source.
Vtubers being treated as second class citizens is so 2024…😢
Man the way her neck twists so unnaturally is really distracting. It feels like Hololive has been falling behind in their rigging lately.
who asked?
Its her 3D model, not Live 2D. And she prob only used Mocopi while streaming.
yeah, unlike certain other agency with their elementary grade challesethic 'dance'. such a shame
lol its home 3D and almost all of them use mocopi that is known for funny scuff
@@Cosmoman78 And that's a reason for it to not be improved? Hololive has been leading the vtuber industry for a while now, if they get complacent and don't seek improvement, they'll stagnate and eventually crumble just like a lot of other tech companies. Toxic positivity does them no favors, if you're truly a fan you need to know when to praise them and support them and when to criticize them. I know she's using home 3D and it's not that big of a deal in the end, but that's no excuse for them to not be working on improving the tech and rigging for better home 3D. There hasn't been any noticeable improvement in years.
