Finde deine Kanal klasse! bin auch in der Überlegung den 190 E meines verstorbenen Opas wieder flott zu machen und auf dich gestoßen. Bleib gesund und en schönes 2022!
It is amazing how you work under the sky :). What I don't like here is that you used a glossy color for painting. These parts are always in mat - no glossy black. You can apply it over this one and it will look much better. I own the same car but a face lifted one and am planning to do similar job. Good job.
Thanks for you kind feedback CarSugar! I was a bit unsure if it was mat or just only faded because of the age. But I have to say that I pretty much like the glossy finish. But I guess this is more a matter of taste. And also good luck for your job! 👍🏼🙂
I've got a deposit on a 190e here in Australia. Close to zero rust thankfully, although one of the rubber jack points (under this factory location) is missing.
Luckily mine is also not that rusty. But as I said, there is always a surprise hiding and waiting to get discovered 😂 I guess this rubber jack points can be replaced as well. But I never tried to take them off.
i think it is rusting from the inside out , you have to cout the inside with rust killer. and then a sort of sprayable fat or sticking oil to perserve it , for grinding the weld points off i would have used a lemmel grinding disc , and used minum filler tho make it flush again so that after repainting there is no evidance and it looks OEM .
Thanks for the feedback Joey! Appreciate it a lot. Indeed I need to preserve it. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong can of sealent. That’s why I had to skip it for now.
Good work, the jacking points are such a weak point sadly. On later cars like mine the Sacco panels cover them, which in a way is worse as rust can hide more.
Thanks for the feedback mate! That’s true. I guess they wanted to improve things but made it a bit more worse. As you said, you can’t see the condition anymore. I hope this will solve my issue for a while. Take care!
Im new to these older mercedes, but wouldn't it be better to just eliminate the holes altogether and create a reinforced spot where you can place a jack linda like how VW has? I feel having a hole is just asking for issues.
Indeed it’s a weak spot. Not sure if you can simply eliminate them. I just kept them as they are. But I’m sure they will require some attention soon or later.
I don’t remember precisely since I have ordered few months ago. But I did long research for the right color code which was also used in the factory. You can find the color in the description below.
That will save me the time looking for it :D i have the same job to do with my 190D from 1984. Love the machine. This summer driven it to Stuttgart Mercedes museum. From the netherlands. Even got vip parking in front of the entrance!

Danke dir! Du würdest es nicht bereuen das Auto wieder flott gemacht zu haben.
Wünsche dir auch ein frohes Neues!
Hey hey sehr geil.
Nice intro, funny and creative......and thanks for covering this topic, it's quite a common disease for many classic Mercedes out there.
Thanks Victor. Appreciate your feedback and continues support!

What is the collor name/code?
It's more blue than black

MERCEDES BENZ GALINITGRAU 7129

I'm happy if I could help. They know exactly which car to honor! :D
You should get the 16" R129 wheels with 225/45 tires!
Wheels will come soon! I already have some plans 😎
just buy another 190
I don't think the next one in Buy will be rust-free right there :)
