    Great post! I feel the same way! I agree with about the importance of teachers building relationships with their students. Yes, teachers truly need support. I use a mixture of all of the methods you explained. I love the pinwheel idea! 😃

    Why don’t u just let them do that regardless? Why does it have to be rewarded?!

      You don't have to reward your students, especially not with physical rewards, it's a personal choice. I've seen teachers have a point/ticket system where students win special privileges in class like not wearing shoes, extra free choice time, lunch buddy, etc. things that don't cost money. I do think hard work should be praised and ideally for kids to have intrinsic motivation. But I remember myself as a kid and I was both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated.
