UPDATE: I could not get the Vertical Module to work in full vertical mode with my setup. I think it's just too heavy for it and it had been putting an extreme amount of stress on my slide motor. That being said, I'm sad to say I returned the Vertical Module and my slide motor now makes audible noise when it is working 😩
Did you return it directly to Edelkrone? I bought it from them and they seem to have a VERY customer-UNFRIENDLY policy toward returns. I am going to do the same.
I JUST received mine in mid-September, having ordered in mid-May 2023. The advertising that Edelkrone was shipping in 2 weeks was a little off! I also found that the motor BARELY is able to move my HeadPlus and camera with lens. There's no way it would work with the HeadPlus Pro and an actual video camera. I also found the spring tension decreases at the close end of the travel, so I can't use the whole length of the slider in full vertical mode.
Edelkkrone was my favorite company in 2018-19 now it became a total joke. I paid for a life long insurance plan but then they left me hanging. offered me an store credit of 900$ then I ordered an verticakl module but it WASN'T WORKIN RIGHT: I sent it back and after one month they tell me things got damaged and they reduced my store credit to 440$. After 12 emails I thought I try the vertical again. And they sent me a already damaged unit. maybe the same I received before. The customer service when they operated in germany was more than fantastic. but since they moved back to turkey it all is a mess. DONT BUY from EDELKRONE !!!
Your unboxing video was absolutely convincing. It's always better to hear genuine critiques and negative aspects rather than just receiving constant praise.👍🎉
Hi, I've got the vertical module. No problem when the camera goes up vertically. Tested with BMPCC 6k + cage, lense and headone (2.3kg). I did not use all the springs with this setup. Until now, I'm happy with this vertical module. One thing I regret is that the maximum carrying capacity is not clear (contradictory information on their website) or I misunderstood.
Still waiting for my order. I was worried it might have issues going back up. Having to fiddle with another screw to get the right tension is a pain. I already dislike that in order to do manual slides and powered slides with the motor module, the screw tension change is a tiny fraction of a degree. IDK why Edelkrone didn't just make a stronger motor module and belt. Thanks for the review and I look forward to an updated review if/when you have more experience with the screw tension.
is this able to handle the headpro plus v3 with the sliderplus pro v5?? I’m curious if I can put my fx6 onto that for a smoother non arcing(didn’t want the jibplus) vertical motion but everything I look at online says it can only handle a 3lbs weight capacity
There was a part in the Vertical module manual about replacing the belt, did you do that?I didn't see a belt in the unboxing. Do you know why you're replacing it?
Thanks for this video, I cannot get mine to work with my canon C70 I have the V2 but very hard, I am having the same problems you are. I gave up already
Hello, I too have a C70 and I was wondering whether the Vertical Module might be an interesting purchase. When you say "cannot get mine to work" is it "work at all" or just "work vertically"? Thank you for your help.
Hey Thomas very detailed review truly appreciate it as I was looking into this module , have the slider one V2 and 2X HeadOnes with an L bracket which technically give you the same setup but im not sure if the vertical modules talks to the Slider V2 I believe I would need the slider plus pro 100% to make this compatible! Let me know if im wrong
Yeah you would need the newest version of slider. I can say that your system will probably be too heavy to easily work. I still haven't been able to get it to go up vertically.
Thanks for the video, the vertical module reviews are almost non existent... I've used a whole bunch of Edelkrone product in a company (JIB + Panpro+Head set up and as well as Slider + Head set up), they are not perfect but we still use it at our company by working around it and using post stabilization. I'm pretty sure this product is no exception. Would like to ask, are the jitters/vibration that this system makes... can it be post-stabalized (warp stabilization) properly? Thanks
Hi ExroNera, Have you had luck removing the jitters/vibrations in your footage? I have some footage I am trying to fix. I thought I shot with the wrong shutter speed, as it looks almost like strobing, but it's definitely from the slider and head.
@@switchturn3796 I bought the vertile module, i made sure my set up is light and used right tension on the motor and the spring, you just have to make sure everything is just right. I didn't have any jitter. However back when i worked with JibOne, the warp stabalizer in premiere fixed most of the issues, but you really have to make sure your shots are shaky in a way you know it can be fixed in post. Lots of trial and error to get the instinct to know which kind of clip can stablalize properly and which cannot. Lots of hit and miss. We shoot multiple times as back up as well. If you got serious strobing, not sure if it can be fixed perfectly in post. But keep trying, specially with "Detailed analysis" if you use premiere pro.
Tomas, first thank you very much for your video. it is immensely helpful. I bought the vertical module followed their instructions and for some reason the motor module doesn't seem to be connecting with the belt and it goes one way sometimes and the other way never. I cannot figure out what the problem may be (I've loosened and tightened the tension and nothing works). I made all the modifications to the motor module and to the slider plus pro itself and can't get it going. Do you have any idea that might help at all?
Unfortunately it looks like you’re encountering the same issues I was having. I don’t have any other suggestions other than returning it. I couldn’t get it to work and was worried that it would ruin my motor. My motor now makes noises and that’s pretty frustrating. Sorry you’re experiencing is similar to mine.
@@TomasVillegas One more question. I am now restoring the system to pre-Vertical module form. But for some reason, I have misplaced the original belt. Do you have any idea how I can get a replacement belt for the Slider Plus Pro without having to go through Turkey and Edelkrone HQ? I'd be happy to buy one but I don't know where to get one beyond they themselves.
I think edelkrone fake there adv and let u think it’s easy and works out of the box and this is they send u the troubleshooting videos privately, it’s been 3 weeks for me and still having hard time to make it work as it supposed to do
Hey man, you do you for sure, I’m just not into the endless adjustments but I can see with the slider market being what it is, why you’d want it. I appreciate the in depth review though. Seems like a product someone will absolutely nail one day soon.

Great review man. I'm gonna be setting up mine in about few minutes, if there's anything that I come across, I will let you know.

I don't know why the didn't either. Seems like if they did that it would work much better. Going up vertically is a challenge.

It’s referring to tightening the slack in the belt. I did that part. Still couldn’t get it to function.

try to get smaller batteries forbthr slider and the head, that total helped me with gear skipping
I did. Doesn’t work.

$400 and that much setup? Not for me..
Definitely not for everyone, but for me and the work I do here it's totally worth it in my opinion. 👍
