Great to have a new video. I enjoy the progress. I imagine everyone there feels the same also . Our 1700 sq foot home renovation is just about done. We have done over 90% of the work ourselves. Already waiting for the video

Love the rustic look❤ There’s no need for another beam, if you’re worried about lighting I’d go with a wall lighting, two lights on the side of that door arch or even hanging on the faux beam you created to fill that gap. I mean I think it would be highlighting that nice wood on the ceiling and won’t take the attention away from it.

Hi! I suggest: Use the beams as points for the lights. You can choose something fancy or old style with chains to be held on the beams (warm light like candle) plus the ceiling will stay as it is now and no cables and lights will be on it. :)
I agree with those who say to oil the wood, it will help it to age gracefully, keep it smart and really give a lift to the great work you have done. No beams please!

I would suggest not adding beams. You have a lot of bulk with the board overlap.

As soon as it starts to warm up, it is important to debark the wood first. The wood starts to steam in the bark and in the heat, it starts to smell nice and that's something for wood-destroying insects. It is then the period when they start to put their offspring in the wood, and we can often find out about it only after many years already in the inhabited building.

Leave ceiling as is. Just some lac or oil would be beautiful. I say no beam as it would be harder to do now and the wood you used is beautiful. If it was a much larger area then maybe a beam would be a great feature. This smaller space does not need it in my opinion. I love watching the 2 of you work together on this home and property. I am 64 yrs old living in the American south west...Arizona white mountains. I get a lot of ideas from your wonderful young minds as to what I would like to do when I retire in a couple of years and find my small place and make it my own. ❤
You should wax the bed of your planer. You shouldn't have to pull the wood through. If that doesn't help, you might have to replace the feed rollers.
Use hemp rope to cover the gaps

you're in latvia right? i know theres a wood framing and log building course there every year. maybe you should go to it. kind of makes sense to stick w/traditional methods...
Id put plaster boards on the ceiling and walls, I really don't like the rustic look, I also don't like exposed brick either, to me that kind of look, seems unfinished. Every body has their own taste in things and you guys love it, and that is the main thing. It is you that is going to live with it and not me. Hard working all you guys.
