Watching your recipes over all the years, I have seen the different seasons thru your kitchen window, cooking at night, daytime cooking, camper cooking, old and new camper, trips around the country, Cris getting prettier all the time, Miss Add growing up with your amazing family and counting all the new tattoos on Mikey. YAY. Thanks.
this sounds good. i use my kitchen aid food prossecor , i a specail dicing kit that came with the kit. i cut green peppers up and onions and carrots. i have arthritis in my hands so i use this to fix stuff
You asked about a trick in the kitchen... this isn’t really a trick but helps cleanup a lot... before I start cooking, I make sure the dishwasher is empty. I leave it open while I am cooking so as I finish with a dish, I can just put it in there instead of piling in the sink. Makes cleanup so much easier!
I have to chime in on the slippery cutting board issue too! That's my valuable kitchen tip - put a damp paper towel or kitchen cloth under the board. I saw it years ago on Jamie Oliver's show 30 Minute Meals. Also learning the importance of designating a place for everything when starting a meal, to make the best use of counter space. I've always had a small kitchen with very little counter space, so that was a lesson I had to learn early! We lived in a basement suite for 3 years where the only counter space I had was 1.5 feet to the side of the sink (enough to hold a toaster and a crock of kitchen utensils) and the top of my portable dishwasher! Being organized matters!!
Ha! I bet you do a mean Chewbacca impression too!! lol...I heard it a lil in your cowardly lion impression...😂😂 btw, big props for loading that dishwasher!! I don't think my husband even knows what the inside of ours looks like! 😂😂😂
just got your answer about the deer meat we have it processed without fat i use bacon grease to cook it with mikey will like that idea thanks for your answer you are so sweet
We compost vegetable waste in a barrel outside our mudroom. Try a whet stone and 1500 grit wet sand paper. Thats all u need. Food looks real good. Will definitely try. I like the carolina style mustard rather than tomatoes.
You asked for kitchen tips. I have one that will make cutting up your peppers much faster. Cut off the top and the bottom of the pepper and run a knife around the inside to cut out the seeds. It all comes out in one piece. If there are a few stray seeds just tap the pepper and they all fall off. Then make a slice from top to bottom and you can open it up and you have one long piece of pepper. Put it on the cutting board and slice however you like it. You don't have to cut out the stem, it just pops right out and you can slice the top and bottom that you cut off at the beginning and add to the rest.
cris you are so brave i wont let my husband in the kitchen. i use paper towels and then throw it all away. i also use ceramic knives i absolutely love them i have them in all sizes
I use the Rachel Ray Trick with the bow also. Sometimes I use a store plastic bag. The bag work's out better. At the end just tie the bag and trash it. I use to watch Rachel Ray all the time. My girlfriend used to get upset. She accused me of having a crush on her. One day I said. What's not to like. She is good looking she is rich. But most of all. She can and will cook. lol. My gf got mad stormed out. Needless to say. I was in the dog house for a week or so, lol. Though I would share the story.
Try putting the plastic bag in the bowl and drape top around the top of the bowl. That way the top is open so easier to put stuff in, the bowl stays clean and in the end, you still can tie the bag and place in trash.
I do the same as Thomas and use a plastic grocery bag and just tie it up when I'm done. That does look really good. Was all that sauce at the end a mixture of the dressing and fat, or just all dressing? And I'm definitely going to add the red pepper flakes. Sounds like a good Super Bowl dish!
Yea, I thought it was a lot of dressing. I might cut back on that...not a heavy italian dressing fan. But I'm sure I'll like it if there's not too much. :)
You can put a damp paper towel under your cutting board and it won't slide on your countertop. I was having a fit watching you cut your veggies, I was sure you were going to cut off a finger...love these videos. Both of you do a great job and your daughter is beautiful.
OOOhh Peggy had a good idea with some pizza sauce. But will be making the original first. And making it soon. Great Cowardly lion. Thanks again. I usually have at least two knife sharpeners around can't stand a dull knife.
Peppers. Cut the top off, cut the bottom off. Slice it down the side and roll it out flat. Clean the ribs and seeds and ready to slice in strips. You're Welcome. lol

My husband takes great pride in sharpening our knives. He has all kinds of sharpening stuff.
The lion impression was great!! You always manage to make me laugh. I bet this is good!
Love me some Tennessee Pride sausage...miss it since I moved to Colorado.
Me too! It’s my favorite! “Take home a package of Tennessee Pride”
Good fun video with no BS... Thank you, thank you
Loved the video! You guys are hilarious 😂 and the sandwiches were a huge hit with the family

What book did that recipe come from? Also I would have skipped the extra lean ground beef for fattier beef.
Well we will be having these...looks so yummy!

Subbed. I ran across this looking for Made Rite recipes. This is a must try.

The Ten Commandments is a great movie!
cris you are so brave i wont let my husband in the kitchen. i use paper towels and then throw it all away. i also use ceramic knives i absolutely love them i have them in all sizes
This does look yummy!
To make it more like a Philly cheese steak, you need cheese whiz. The recipe looks great and I will give it a try. Love your videos and recipes.

Jan W. There may jabr been a little bit of fat in there. but it was mostly the dressing and liquid from the veggies.
Yea, I thought it was a lot of dressing. I might cut back on that...not a heavy italian dressing fan. But I'm sure I'll like it if there's not too much. :)
yummy
you two are amazing

Beverly Fields I wrote the same thing just now lol
I love Havarti cheese. Now you've gone and made me want to make this! ; )
That would be good in zucchini boats!
I throw all of my celery, onion and other various vegetable scraps in a bag in the freezer and make stock in my slow cooker.
OOOhh Peggy had a good idea with some pizza sauce. But will be making the original first. And making it soon. Great Cowardly lion. Thanks again. I usually have at least two knife sharpeners around can't stand a dull knife.
that loose meat Italian sandwich looks yummy
Whetstone. ;)
btw, I was taught that a dull knife was more dangerous -i.e. can seriously injure/cut you - than a sharp one.
Lmao i just love watching you!!!
Pizza sauce.....add tomato sauce ,put it on a crust ,top with cheese. Yummy!
Peppers. Cut the top off, cut the bottom off. Slice it down the side and roll it out flat. Clean the ribs and seeds and ready to slice in strips. You're Welcome. lol
Can you make this in an instant pot rather than the crockpot
place a paper towel under your cutting board and it won't slide around. Look at American Test Kitchen for a great tip on cutting green peppers
Thumbs up for the Bert Lahr imitation.
"Hot Things" ... Awww, that was so nice to say about your beautiful wife.
next time you make this recipe, try using mild or hot italian sausage instead of a breakfast sausage.
Casablanca, it's A Wonderfule Life, Gone wiith the Wind, Maltese Falcon, Dial M for Murder, Gaslight
I seen the bowls at Walmart but for 15$or 20$i don't think so I use a bag..
Mikey puta wet paper towel under cutting board so it doesn’t keep moving on you. Hope it helps, Leslie
Put a damp paper towel under the cutting board and it won't dance around
Looks good but will be leaving out the red pepper flakes!
