What an awesome video I found. I start A&P school on Monday, don’t know a thing about aircraft but I can fix any car. Can’t wait to start learning about aircraft!
Hey dude, have a look at my other vids for more. Airplanes aren’t bad compared to cars, much cleaner work, no rusty crap, much smaller fasteners, but also a lot more complicated!
turdpike I’ve watched like 3 or 4 more, thanks for taking the time to make them. Yeah airplanes seem complicated, A&P school will get me license to learn though haha.
Carlos Ramirez best decision I ever made man. I got a job as an aircraft mechanic while also in school, boss willing to work around school schedule, lots of work never slow, and most importantly happy man. Good for you bro!
Mojave Rootz seriously? That sounds a lot better than what half of the aircraft techs tell me, do you do any night shift? I like hearing people talk positively about this trade, some just make it seem like it’s a nightmare
Dean Stringer Hey man, thanks! You’ve got that right, it’s only a small hole and I didn’t even go full throttle here but when locked open that shit comes out incredibly fast
John next time you fly, think of us!! The poor bastard that signed his name saying it’s airworthy! They sure do- mostly military aircraft but they made these 340’s in the 80’s-90’s and also later made a stretched version called the Saab 2000 in the 1990’s. Not many of them- but supposedly one of the fastest turboprop aircraft ever
the "bird catcher" is a inertial seperator right? and why does turboprops have to get safetied to preventing them windmilling while turbofans were not safetied?
tombmaster972 you bet it’s an inertial seperator! Bird catcher is more of a slang term for it. And as far as prop ties on turboprops, the big reason is for ground safety. It’s much harder to fall into a turbofan cowl and get hit by a windmilling fan vs a 12’ diameter prop hangin’ out there spinning away. I can’t speak for why the turbofan guys don’t typically try and stop them from windmilling when they are say parked on the ground for a while, my guess is its just not as easy to clamp/stop the fan from spinning unless you cover the whole intake with like a winter tent to stop any breeze coming through.
Community college or trade school. Get a loan. Dedicate two years of your life. Mechanic you are looking at 20k to 40k for a accelerated program that is less than two years. Community college is cheaper but takes more time about 10k to 20k. Pilot school is 70k plus. You know, fuel and flight miles.
I gave up netflix and watched this!
This needs way more views... Thank you, very interesting!
Leo thanks! I’ll try and do some more when it’s a good time
the audio is really bad, ppl click away.
Can’t believe I haven’t found this earlier. Great work! Thanks for uploading. Hope to see more.

I would just like to say, I appreciate your time to make this video. Thankyou.

Dose GE make that engine? It looks remarkably like a T700
It is a T700. But the turboprop version is actually called a CT7.
@@turdpike that's awesome. I know that engine all too well
Do a LC 2 please
Ashwell Moss if I get time someday I could
