Gods those 3D printing lines on the Forgeworld stuff is an absolute embarrassment, but the fact that they just defended that that's what it's meant to look like is even worse.
Well if the Forge World minis got 3d print lines on them, then instead of getting official Warhammer 40k Space Marines I might be getting the Conflictmace 4TK Human Empire Power Armor Soldiers from Etsy next time.
As someone who 3D prints the brittleness is not so true as a down side anymore kind of it really depends on the kind of resin you're using you can buy more flexible tougher resin which is really good for miniatures and doesn't loose any of the detail so it depends on what you're buying
Do you have any recommendations for a good flexible resin? Just getting back into the hobby after being out of it for 2 years and I need to fire up my printer
I made a forgeworld Marauder. My pride and joy. I spent a few days sanding, heating and filling and pinning to get it to all fit perfectly and align nicely. It felt worth it to me, but were there an alternative that was cheaper I would have jumped on it. It did keep me entertained during my COVID quarantine. Best 2 weeks of my life! Never again though (but maybe a lightning if I get the chance!)
Never built a fw tank but I’ve built 3 tyranid hyrodule (hirodule?) and they were all an insanely massive pain in the ass. The base has like 3 holes for the two feet and a talon and it wasn’t even close to lining up on any of them and massive gaps in the legs
I just get forge world stuff recast now, just ain't worth it at all. The dawnbreaker blood angel unit helmets are really bad for the 3d print lines and you can definitely see them after painting

I don't even do miniatures n that 3D print mould makes me mad ... would instantly put the company on my shit list and never use them again.

I love the look of the Forgeworld stuff but dealing with them is such a headache.
james workshop strikes again, i will never buy a forge world model I've heard so many complaints about quality
