    Interesting. We bought the box versions (no long wardrobe ones like yours) so we have small metal brackets to secure the boxes together on the back. Just to let others know the difference. Yes, you still need to screw the box version to the wall same as in this wardrobe version 🛠️

      Supposedly Ikea screws 114667, but you may well need longer and a different sort depending on what type of wall you are drilling into. If you don't have any in the Ikea bag or personal stocks, any hardware store will help. The fancy cheap-looking plastic pieces that come with Bestå units are a pain compared with the metal system traditionally offered by Ikea for the kitchen units (I don't mean the rails). With those you can drill into masonry, set your dowel and put the screw half in. Then only you shove your unit against the wall and tighten the screw. Always better than fumbling around to find the dowel hole through the plastic holders we have with Bestå. Interestingly, the BeståTV still have the sturdy metal system.

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You not need to doit I find it more secure so I fixit one from under as well. It is quiet hard to get there as the hole is to close to the site panel but possible. You will have few extra screws in BESTA I just use one from the extra ones.

    • @PPFlatPack
      @PPFlatPack  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have 3doors as in this case start with the bottom doors, holes for hinges are predrilled can't make mistake. Line up bottom doors with the bottom panel and secure them. Second doors 2-3mm gap and you find the right holes automatically top door same thing. Now when you have doors attached you can easy do dividing panels just line them up with gaps between doors

    HI...I just bought and setup the Besta Tall cabinet at 75inches and it wobbles a lot. It might wobble left to right at .5" to 1". I have followed the directions perfectly...however I have not screwed it into the wall as it is wobbling so much. I have read that the Besta unit has changed from older versions.
    I see they also have a 50" vertical. Do you think my frame is defective? Or should it wobble so much until it is screwed into the wall?
    Also, I have floor molding and was planning to wall mount a hanging Besta above this unit. I have about 1 1/2 inch of molding on the floor, do you think i have to take out the molding to make the two cabinets sit flush on top of each other considering the top unit will use the suspension rail?
    Thanks!

    • @craigburnhamthistlewaite1004
      @craigburnhamthistlewaite1004 ปีที่แล้ว

      The units (192cm high) wobble primarily because as opposed to units with a screwed/nailed or stapled back panels that cater for some rigidity and ensure the units remain somewhat square, you have some tolerance in the fit of the sliding panel. This allows some movement when a unit is standing and turns it into a parallelogram when not screwed to the wall. When the unit is not standing level because of that wobble the next problem is you wil have trouble adjusting doors as the spacing of Ikea doors rarely leaves much spare room to play with.

  • @pruzzilla3771
    @pruzzilla3771 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great! Now, show the part where the doors constantly need adjusting because the weight of them doesn't play well with gravity, and how you need to secure the cabinets in studs in at least 6 or more places because if you have more than one door open, that cardboard backing tears and down it comes (hopefully not on a kid). You need to modify the bottom if it is not on carpet and add a few 1x4s to the back that screw into the actual wood frame of it and then to the studs.

    Hello, my Besta is shifting side to side by about 1/2 inch. It's not very stable. I tighten the cam locks and they seem to hold the base/top very tight but the frame is still shifting. Does the unit design to stand alone or do you have to screw to units together else it will shift? I am thinking about getting the metal cam locks and see if it will help or not. We finished assembling this wardrobe, so far so good, just as an advise, put a towel in the bottom while screening the shelves, the tool fall down constantly, the towel will prevent to damage the bottom part. It seems strange the space in the back of each shelve, this is not in the instructions, thanks to this video we did it the right way, the doors do not close as nice as in the video, no wonder there is a plastic protector between the doors, I'll keep playing adjusting it.
