tom petty and myself are the same age, 40 years of my affection for tom and his music, never a song that left me speechless, how relevant it was to my life. a part of me, a part of my family left me on 10/02/17. feeling sad, till we meet again.
My mom was a flight attendant and had Tom & The Heartbreakers on a flight, the young FA kept telling her "it's Tom Petty!!!" My mom thought "sees odd to get so excited about a race car driver", thinking it was legendary driver Richard Petty. They corrected her and we still laugh about it all these years later. She said they were great passengers, played poker the entire flight.
I’m living in a different country now, and when I feel homesick I listen to Tom Petty. When I’m not homesick, I listen to Tom Petty. Hearing him, his cool gentleness, just breaks me. What a video. Allyn, you bring him back to us when we need him most. I guess that’s all the time. In any country. Thank you, for this and my whole playlist.
He is at peace now and with the great I am for eternity ,so if you been bad or good be good for Toms sake ;We can all be at peace throughout time and space!
I saw this fantastic tour in St. Louis....Wildflowers was new and they had a great bohemian stage set with the big tree, the lanterns, oriental rug, and the treasure chest...I recognized the magic then, but coming here to escape the intensity of the corona virus, it feels like that was another universe. I miss Tom's presence on this planet, always felt as long as he was here everything would be alright.
Listening today like I do every day...Tom was a genius! His lyrics, music, and the meaning will resonate forever! Wow I walk today for you Tom....and The Heartbreakers....it always feels good!
RIP to one of the all-time legends. Tom, you are missed everyday by this 69 year old. Lucky to have seen you and the boys 5 times. Your tunes live on....
Miss those mid years with Howie in the band.....they all look so much younger. Such good times and great music and great memories throughout all my life starting when I first heard the album "Your Gonna Get It" in 1978.

What a great video.... it’s well over 2 yrs,... and still, not a day goes by, a TP tune or 2 plays on... in my car, there’s always been at least 2or 3 TP cd’s loaded and waiting... the collection continues at home... I’m only like this with 2 other’s - Bob Dylan and The Beatles... I can just listen to the ENTIRE album, know every song, every word, every word... Tom had a such magic, he touched everyone, it was magic at its best... thank you for such a ride! You’re forever missed man, but what a treasure trove of music, legend... 💔🎶🎸🎩🕶
Wow, I just moved to St Augustine Florida a week ago and I immediately recognized that quick shot of the carousel that Tom passes by at the beginning of this video. I live between there and the airport. So cool to know Tom drove right past my house to get to the airport! He had a place here back then. Thanks for posting all these great videos!
so hard to see Tom smoking those death cigarettes so often, it messed with his health, increasingly. damn. Diagnosed with emphysema just before last tour -- that would've been a true heartbreaker.
Tom was and always will be a legend. Lost him way too early. Also it’s a shame to see what the drugs did to Howie Epstein, he went from looking like a young boy it seems to looking like an 80 year old man overnight. You could see it during the few glimpses we got of him during this video. So sad.
What people don't understand about the whole catering thing Tom talked about: all that stuff isn't comped and doesn't just show up magically. You're actually paying for it, so once an artist realizes that, they tend to cut back on extravagant banquets because unless you're REALLY going to use it, don't get it.
I didn't know Howie had a gsd - now I love him even more! We take our gsd everywhere - lots of hotels accept dogs now. Brand new hotel in Iowa not only accepted him but upgraded us to a suite so he would have plenty of room and we'd be right next to exit door

Toms handled fame very well, it's not easy, the other thing is alcohol and drugs haven't taken there till on him and his band, I know I would've been fkd up all the time, they only smoke weed so there's no destruction from hard drugs and booze, levelheaded guys. I've always loved the band from the begining, American girl, incredible

I love Howie's dog. I tried taking my German Shepherd in a hotel and they wouldn't let him in.

Ryan dz I confirmed dog died few days before him. Dog was 16. His distress over losing the dog helped finish Howie off.
