work at the saint louis zoo and my super visor saw him and was talking dinosaurs with his granddaughter. obviously he treated him like a normal person and and acted like he didn't even know who he was. his granddaughter loved my supervisor so much she turned around and said to her grandfather "can I tell him who you are?" Al quickly sad "No". my supervisor just signaled to him that he he know who he was and understood everything. still love how proud she was of her grandfather, how much she loved the zoo and its people, and the cherry on top with Al being Al haha.
He was a rover in the 90s, He was sitting in stands, I knew he was gonna be there, I took 2 of his cards to the ballpark in Savannah Ga, he couldn't have been more nicer, signed then both
After Al threw at Reggie Jackson in the 1978 ALCS. Reggie hit a 3- Run Homer to help the Yankees win the game and series. Who was the Astro that charged or walked up to Al and landed a right? After an Angel hit a HR Al threw over the head of Lyman Bostock. Lyman charged the mound. Sadly Lyman was killed later that year.
Didnt he once go to throw the ball back in his glove before turning and marching back to the mound and miss his glove? Didnt the runners advance or even score while they ran down the ball?

@@vivalavivarium great story!
Loved his routine, but in the day of the pitch count, he'd struggle to beat 60 seconds.
@@dustylover100 that’s true he would have to do the speed version of his routine

Man, that's something. He's the inspiration for Ricky Vaughn.

@BBUYTTV have noticed the mannerisms between them?
@@zach7193 now that you pointed it out…yes!
Had a cameo in The Slugger's Wife. Great slice of 80s cheese. The Astros had Hrabosky and Mark Fidrych throwing for them in that flick.
A movie star too!
great video, love the channel
@@TurfShoeNation thanks!
Saw him pitch in K.C. what a character
@@BrianUnderwood-eu6em no doubt about that!
I grew up in St.Louis watching the mad hungarian! Whenever he stepped off the mound and psyched himself up it seemed he always got the strike!
@@ChipNov1998 it was an interesting routine

Hi! I’m the nephew of Al Hrabosky, ask me anything. I even got a whole bunch of pictures of him and his house.
I just do not understand the apparent pattern of new streamers using AI, but to each his own.

@@FredPena-rd5cf that may have happened but I don’t remember it
The guy pronounced AL'S last name wrong.
