yea I'm sure they will and I'm sure they wanted that longer focal length too but again.. production. a set of matching lenses is harder to produce all at once than one lens. I'm just fkn happy we've got these options out in the market! I might buy a set of these and hold off on the DZO Vespid set!
Love how you switch up your background every now and then, Caleb. It keeps it fresh. These lenses look unbelievable. Definitely interested in picking up some! 🔥
I tested both the meikes and the dzo primes and i found the dzos to be loads better (in my opinion) so i would be much more interested in a comparison to the DZO lenses as they are similarly small and very similarly priced ~$1200 usd
I did the same but the Meike's won for me- for me- especially in MECHANICS... and I didnt like how small the DZO lenses are either... now these were not available yet so idk maybe id go with these now...(I have all 7 Meike's I lucked out on color mine are all close. ) NOW that being said... the new DZO 2x Anamorphic's and zoom stuff I think are quite nice.
I was once torn between the dzo and meike ff primes , and eventually meike beat dzo on some aspects and I picked 5 focal lenghths of them, up till now they have done great, and help me own the expense back.
I own the Nisi Full Set and they are awesome. The Vespids look nice too but as was mentioned, you will not film anything with a clinical feel on the DZOs. Buy what makes you happy, but I chose these for their versatility since I take on a variety of clients and can adjust the look to match the vision.
My excitement was dulled when I found out (what looks to be) that there is not an EF version. Mostly a bummer because there are a lot of C70 & Komodo shooters that use the EF to RF speedbooster, as well as fun 3rd party adapters such as the Module 8 Tuner that is coming out this month. Loved the video nonetheless!
This set hits three of my primary concerns for a prime lens kit, color matching, clarity, and lens breathing. I want to capture what I light for on set, I don’t need the lens to add character/vintage look. Lens breathing is also an unwanted characteristic that can detract and distract from purposely executed changes in focus. The other features you pointed out are icing on the cake, well built, uniform size, professional markings, and gears indicate using them might be very functional. You didn’t mention how great or small the focus rotation was in actual use and that can often separate a good lens from an exceptional lens in day to day usage. The price per lens is obtainable if you have creation of a full prime set in mind. These lenses are definitely on my rent to experience before I commit to purchasing the set list, thanks for the review.
If you do more tests can you directly compare them to the Sigma art zooms. It's sometimes hard to find a fairly common food Lena to compare to and it feels like the Sigmas are pretty common. Thanks for the video btw, great work.
Hey Caleb, been a fan of yours for many years now I appreciate everything you've done for people all over the globe. I've never made a request to you, but if you have time, if you could do your-depth review on the sirui nightwalker lenses because I'm very curious about them. Thank you for everything
I’m actually curious how these compare to the DZO Vespids which I’ve said many times imo are some of the best budget cine lense on the market. These looks great though!
Cheers for the awesome review. Being down here in nz means the access to test lens is limited so it's invaluable to get your opinion. I'm be thing I would have loved to hear was a real world use case. How does it feel in use via the meike. The follow throw etc. weight. Is it declicked?
Is there any possibility to adapt this lens to my BMPCC4K? Is there an Adapter from MFT - Mount to PL Mount? I have a MFT to EF Adapter, but the lens is not available for Canon EF. Would there be a EF to PL Adapter?
interesting review! Friend, could you shoot a couple of signs against the background of tree branches or bushes on a full frame video to understand what character the lenses have. I understand that characteristics are very important, but with Helios, against the background of branches and bushes, the character is immediately visible, but what about these lenses?
Awesome video! Great channel! I’m looking into buying my first cinema lens. Are there other budget friendly brands/models you’d recommend for someone with entry level skills/knowledge of filming on mirrorless cameras?
Hi, I'm trying to put together the stand you suggested. I have an old Olympus camera with lots of brand new lenses. Do you think I could purchase a newer Olympus camera instead of the Sony you suggested? I know nothing about this. I'm diving in with your guidance. Thank you so much for your help!
Hello, i have a question, Is it possible to use SSD storage to replace your SD card on a Sony Alpha device (i use sony a6700) ? or is it not compatible?
Ive been interested in this kit for a minute, but can't find any information on the drop in filters for e-mount. Ive never used rear drop in filters before and just wondering if anyone has any information on where to find them for this lens kit
What is an “end game”-lens? They might be a budget lens (kit) that will deliver results up to a certain point. On paper they sound perfect but at that (budget) level you will not find mechanical or optical (perfection) - if that is something you are looking for. What is interesting are the options available to the greater community of filmmakers in these times. Never has there been so much to choose from - at various price levels.
Seems like these would fit well with my cameras! My company, at this stage will be known as 'VENISI MOTION PICTURES" as I can't yet afford a VENICI...JACK COEN / VANCOUVER/NEW WESTMINSTER STUDIO
Hey! im on a Canon RF system and live in sweden, I'm looking for a wide lens to document with, so the 14mm is very interesting, how are they in the dark? I am working on a little documentary project and would like to have lenses to record the northern lights. etc. and would it work to photograph the northern lights, if you wanted to take a quick picture of, for example, the northern lights. and then continue to record without changing the lens? I think it is very difficult to find a high quality RF lens that is wide without selling a kidney, I don't mind if it is manual, just want good quality. is a beginner when it comes to T-stop.
So I guess no one makes an EF mount anymore? I was just at the BILD conference and talked to lot of the manufactures in the expo. Guess most of them are phasing out EF for their new lenses. Too bad that became the default for a lot of us due to camera manufacturers adopting it.
If you get a chance, the new "HOPE Primes"...I'd love to hear your thoughts on them. It's funny how I've been watching you since the t2i days, checking in through the years, but I haven't seen you in my feed for a while. Felt like a happy see your old friend moment. When I know the reality is the algorithm just knew the kind of primes I was after in the parasocial internet world 🙃lol
I wish they come out with a 21, 28 and 40. They look like fantastic lenses.
Yeah, a 20mm option between the 14 and 25 would be excellent.
yea I'm sure they will and I'm sure they wanted that longer focal length too but again.. production. a set of matching lenses is harder to produce all at once than one lens. I'm just fkn happy we've got these options out in the market! I might buy a set of these and hold off on the DZO Vespid set!
Literally all 3 of my fave focal lengths
40/42 will be amazing
apparently 18, 40 and 135 are coming in '24
Love how you switch up your background every now and then, Caleb. It keeps it fresh. These lenses look unbelievable. Definitely interested in picking up some! 🔥

Any comparisons between the DZOs and the NiSi?
I’d be interested in a video comparing these to the new Cooke SP3 lenses. A little different price point, but Cooke lenses under $5k each is wild.
I've been thinking about the new Cooke SP3 being the end game for me, would love to see a comparison.
and they have the vintage look lmao which just means the optics are poorly corrected
Can you be able to compare these with Irix &/or DZOFILM lenses?
Especially Irix. In my opinion, those are the lenses to beat. Insane performance for the money.
My excitement was dulled when I found out (what looks to be) that there is not an EF version. they have 300 degrees focus rotation
If you do more tests can you directly compare them to the Sigma art zooms. It's sometimes hard to find a fairly common food Lena to compare to and it feels like the Sigmas are pretty common. Thanks for the video btw, great work.
how cute is the entire camera setup looks
I've been waiting for this video and you hit everything I was excited about.
Thanks for this excellent review Caleb. Exactly the comparison I was looking for!
I guess these would be a lot better than the Sirui Nightwalkers, since you can get a set of 3 of those for less than 1 of these.
Hey Caleb, did Nisi say when the L Mount Athena’s will be available?
there is no L mount
11:43 OUFFFFF that looks good
5:00 Never Put Tape on a Lens. Use a Black Rubber Band or 2” Two Sided Velcro strap to block those side gaps.
Why not a tape?
Hah loce how you brought up the "vintage look" marketing statement. It's so ture 😂
Love the vid dude, and great meeting you at Kando this year!
looks amazing ! I also love all the lenses from DZO that come at a fair price
So they don’t have an Ef mount?
Hey Caleb, been a fan of yours for many years now I appreciate everything you've done for people all over the globe. I've never made a request to you, but if you have time, if you could do your-depth review on the sirui nightwalker lenses because I'm very curious about them. Thank you for everything
Second this.
Wow! Great review and examples! This is why a lot of other popular TH-camrs watch your videos 👍
I’m actually curious how these compare to the DZO Vespids which I’ve said many times imo are some of the best budget cine lense on the market. These looks great though!
Wish these game in EF mount
80mm or 82mm front thread?
These look amazing. Personally, if I could swap that 35mm for a 135mm, this set would be about perfect.
Thx for the video. But I couldn't find an E-Mount version withOUT the filter tray anywhere.
Are L (alliance) mounts in the pipeline because they aren't on the NiSi website?
On the way
Cheers for the awesome review. Being down here in nz means the access to test lens is limited so it's invaluable to get your opinion.
I'm be thing I would have loved to hear was a real world use case. How does it feel in use via the meike. The follow throw etc. weight. Is it declicked?
which three would you suggest to buy first?
Is there any possibility to adapt this lens to my BMPCC4K?
Is there an Adapter from MFT - Mount to PL Mount?
I have a MFT to EF Adapter, but the lens is not available for Canon EF. Would there be a EF to PL Adapter?
You said Meike at 8:28, did you mean NiSi there?
interesting review! Friend, could you shoot a couple of signs against the background of tree branches or bushes on a full frame video to understand what character the lenses have. I understand that characteristics are very important, but with Helios, against the background of branches and bushes, the character is immediately visible, but what about these lenses?
Sick lenses! Stoked for the filter video. You rock Caleb!
I love Nissi Filters.. great to see they trying something new
Can you do a ultimate cinema rig for the fx30/fx3?
One is coming!
Great and informative video. Question : are they available for or fit a Fujifilm XH2/XH2s?
How about EF?
How does this lens perform compare to arri ultraprime.
Awesome video! Great channel! I’m looking into buying my first cinema lens. Are there other budget friendly brands/models you’d recommend for someone with entry level skills/knowledge of filming on mirrorless cameras?
What’s that at 10:12 ??🔥🔥
Hi, am Pre-booking 2 sets pl mount and e mount, how does this perform compare to Zeiss CP3 Bro.
I’m curious how these compare to the Sigma Cine lenses. Has anyone done or seen a test?
those have awful breathing..
As always Caleb thank you! We appreciate your knowledge
11:40 Nice shot! Really like the lens rendering.
Love you dude. Your videos are awesome
I was looking at these, so this is timely.
Can you put anamorphic adapter on these?
What zoom lens do you recommend for the new blackmagic cinema camera 6k full frame?
🙂
Hello Caleb, in this same category, but with much higher quality, there are the APO mini prime lenses from Dulens!!
Great video! What's the name of the focus you're using?
How do these lenses compare to the Sirui Jupiter lenses?
Thanks so much. Excellent as always. Weakness at 35mm is a bit of a worry unless there was a great 40mm? Thx
What camera did you do the testing with?
I can’t find them in L mount anywhere. Can somebody help?
At approximately the 8:30 mark, you said that Meike is coming out with a diopter did you mean Nisi?
Hi, a 19mm or 20mm is a must, thank you for sharing!!
Loved playing with these at Cinegear and I'd love to acquire a set sometime down the road.
Love your videos! Thanks!
How do they compare to the 7artisans?
Does NiSi make anamorphic options?
Hey so you confirm that they don’t work withe the mofage vnd pl adapter ?
I hope you will make a test with the cooke sp3 kit, your review are really useful
This set looks amazing! And a great price!
Great price!?
@@MyFriendlyPup in comparison lol. 5k for a set where 5k would get you one cannon prime lens
Hello, i have a question, Is it possible to use SSD storage to replace your SD card on a Sony Alpha device (i use sony a6700) ? or is it not compatible?
Nice lens set-wish they had an EF variant. Caleb, what remote focus puller is that? Have you reviewed it? Love to learn more. Thanks!
I'm wishing to see how NiSI compare to DZO PRIME!!! thanks
Great review as usual, this set looks so good, especially as it’s so well priced! Can the PL mount be adapted to Nikon F-mount?
did you use a diffusion filter for this video? the look is amazing
so if i get the 25mm and put it on an apsc camera, is it still a 25mm ff equivilent or a 37.5mm because of sensor crop?
Image compared to Canon cinema lenses??
They seem like a great option. Any idea how thy compare to Rokinon DSX cine primes?
I don’t see l mount on nisi website, is this a mistake?
What about focus breathing? Thanks!
can this lense work for RF?
Ive been interested in this kit for a minute, but can't find any information on the drop in filters for e-mount. Ive never used rear drop in filters before and just wondering if anyone has any information on where to find them for this lens kit
The Rokinon Ds are cheaper and have consistent colors. They are also brighter.
How does it compare with Cooke sp3
Make a review of the old Sony Cine Alta mkII lens set. No chromatic aberration, clean, sharp, bombproof.
Hey, what size mirror are you using for the fake window light in the background for the test footage?
Hey what about minimum focus distance on these lenses? Good or bad?
14mm - 25cm
25mm - 30cm
35mm - 30cm
50mm - 50cm
85mm - 80cm
What if I want to use them on x mount?
Where can I find the L Mount version?
they dont have one
great video! could you maybe check out the Samyang V-AF Lenses and make a video about them? that would be awesome
You look so intense during the flare tests 😂
these looks great for a fx3 rig!
If you have EF mount cameras do they have an adapter for this to work with their PL mount. Seems like a great series. Thank you for this.

Eng-Game lenses are ones you keep for the rest of your career they are that good.
Do these have auto focus?
Seems like these would fit well with my cameras! My company, at this stage will be known as 'VENISI MOTION PICTURES" as I can't yet afford a VENICI...JACK COEN / VANCOUVER/NEW WESTMINSTER STUDIO
sooo...
What do you think about the Nano II?
:)
can u i use this with bmp 6k pro that has ef mount thx
there is an 18mm coming as well

Sad that EF is gone
NiSi Athena vs Sirui Venus would be interesting
