AB was an absolute no show! CC is awesome but she can't carry this team! She needs others to bring it! So f'n sad!

Y’all can’t be serious talking about CC can’t create her own shot lmao. High P&R usage is not an indicator of someone that cannot create a shot for themselves. Cut on literally any NBA game & you’ll see the best players in the world using P&R almost every time down the court. It’s on Sides to make the adjustment and use someone else as the screener. Also, AB does need to be better. She hasn’t done a damn thing with the few paint touches she’s gotten but get stuffed at the rim and miss layups.

@@denisebailey3226 I don't think Boston needs to leave, coach Sides is part of the problem, but Boston should never have got out of shape. With the right endurance facilities she could recover in 2 weeks.

Funny comments. Boston was a beast last year. Lots of roster changes affect chemistry. Calm the f down with the criticism and immediate firing of the coach.
2 areas are killing them. Rebounding giving other teams 2 and 3 extra shots on offense. Before the first half ended. They left 20 to 30 points on the table missing those shots in the paint. They don't fix those 2 things. Things will stay the same.

Im soo angry, Sides had two opportunities to draw up a play with the inbound and still couldnt manage to free up someone. You can blame Clark. Sides and Boston costing the team

@@denisebailey3226 I challenge that theory. Monica was the same as AB. Monica rarely dribbled and was one of the top scorers in the nation! The duo was the best in the nation. AB just needs to get back to bball shape. I'm afraid that no one on the team is calling her out on it. On the other hand, maybe they're fully aware and they're working through it. I'm praying for the latter. Regardless, AB doesn't have to change. She just needs to evolve naturally. Go Fever!🤙🏽❤️🏀
Boston needs to watch Charles Barkley film and realize yeah you strong, but you are small, you must be crafty to score on taller faster players, maybe even drop a few and run the court. and girl shoot ONE JUMPER PLEASE! past that they should make boston the 6-8 man when cate comes off to rest.

There are really two things that are horrible with this game:
1) Starting Wallace was a terrible idea. Jewell Llyod tore her apart for the first 6 minutes. She couldn't contain her at all and got lit up--she forced AB to get into foul trouble as well because of her not being able to do anything at all. Clark, Boston were able to at least hold their coverage considerably, but Jewell (which was Wallace's job) destroyed them.
On offense, Wallace didn't add anything to the team. It forced Caitlin Clark to play off-ball which just put her in the corners since Wallace has no effective three point shot off the dribble and nobody takes her seriously, so they compact the paint and then just attempt to deny Clark the ball--if Clark gets the ball, then they double and rotate to deny her from having any good looks. Clark's delegated to be bait and basically leaves the team to fend for themselves due to how the spacing looks. Now, with Clark being a decoy out there, the Fever had barely any good offense going on with Wallace unable to run the point and create options for them--Smith did okay, though. Boston got into foul trouble due to poor defense by Wallace. Then they subbed Clark out first and the game got away again since they put in Wheeler and the lineup is smaller.
When they put in Lexie Hull on Jewell, then the team made a nice run to come back because she was able to stop Jewell from scoring about 20 points. Unfortunately, the team didn't really keep this adjustment all game and then went back to doing the typical "keep the shooters cold all game" substitution pattern and had hardly any outside scoring from Mitchell/ Clark with them being used that way. Thankfully, Smith got them going with some solid contribution.
If they just kept the team structured like they were originally when they were winning games, then the defense would have been better and the issues with the lineups wouldn't have caused them to be down so early and start shooting in a slump. You saw what happens when Clark gets the ball to start the game and it was a good result. Fever took the lead in the second half and did some good work on offense for the first time in the night--Wallace was NOT holding the ball, and most of the issues with the team were solved.
Boston isn't the problem either since vs the Sun she was on the floor helping them get runs too. Unfortunately, Sides keeps using Clark and Boston wrong and the result is horrible play calling and horrible offensive schemes because Sides thinks Wheeler and Wallace can actually run an offense somehow.
2) Rebounding.
Sides loved her sub 6 foot lineups so much so that the team got out rebounded despite good defense for most of the game, minus the two doofuses that couldn't guard Jewell Llyod (Wheeler and Wallace). If you had kept your 6+ footers on the floor more than your 5'7, 5'8, and 5'11 with a 6' Clark lineups, then maybe you might have had some rebounds going your way.
However, Coach Sides just loves losing and decided to sub out all the bigs and play small ball against a former MVP that dominated the rebounds. Kept funneling small ball lineups and causing the bigs to get into foul trouble because the small ball awful defenders she had on the floor (Wallace and Wheeler) couldn't stop their coverage at all. Now, you lose the bigs and can't rebound and then decide to rest the star player and get blown out of the court in mere minutes with the worst lineups of the night.
That last phase of rotations sealed the deal because you decided to basically sub out like 3 players in a minute with a bunch of players that had no consistency all game long and ruined the flow of the game--especially sitting both Clark and Smith for no reason near the end when you had the lead and Clark was creating incredible offense and forcing a lot of pressure on the other team.

If Sides wasn't the coach, the team wins.
Boston is a good player on defense and has it in her to do the task. Her offense might not be elite, but she can contribute to her team with good pops time to time. The issue is that the coach isn't aware of how to use her players for success and thinks this team is some system for Wheeler and Wallace to look like superstars or something. They are absolutely the least impactful players on the roster for the team for literally the whole year and do not do anything but sap away helpful possessions on the team.
Sides both Wheeler and Wallace with her from Atlanta and ever since then she has been giving them more opportunities than needed. She got rid of better players to facilitate them. She’s running the team down to the ground.
Boston looks like she has lead shoes on.
