[EP 05] Atacama and Uyuni by Motorbike: The Stone and Salt Deserts

- After 800 kilometers of arid and lifeless desert, I finally arrived in Jujuy, Argentina. The objective was to take Ruta 52, a winding road that winds through the mountain ranges, at more than 4,000 meters of altitude, and reach Salinas Grandes, a salt flat that would serve as a training ground for the Salar de Uyuni.
The road was really magnificent, and I was very excited. I miss traveling through Latin America, a more "rooted" and rustic trip, on empty roads, without tourists.
I met a Spanish woman, Begonha, and it was nice to talk to her about my tour throughout her magnificent country.
The altitude rose quickly. With every kilometer I advanced, I felt my breathing become more difficult and the cold more intense. At 4,000 meters altitude, the air was thin and the temperature dropped rapidly.
The motorcycle's electronic injection light came on, but despite this, it continued to function normally. It was probably some effect of the altitude.
At the top of the mountain ranges, I saw a beautiful alpaca cross the street and leap up the mountains, at the same time as a majestic eagle crossed the sky.
I saw a small mud house, it was a rustic tent with some items for sale. I stopped and something with me. But when I returned to the bike and tried to start it, the dashboard didn't light up. Totally erased. The bike worked normally, but the dashboard didn't. This was terrible, as I would be left without any information about temperature, oil, speed and fuel.
Even more worried, I followed the road fighting a strong wind. The cold was biting, and I felt my body shaking.
Suddenly I saw a small stone house. There was a sign warning that there was "naphtha" (gasoline) there. I went there, but there was no one there.
What would I do now? I had no dashboard and little gas.
I continued along the road, fighting the wind and cold. I didn't know what to expect, but I was determined to get to Salinas Grandes.
After a few hours, I finally saw the salt flat in the distance. It was a stunning sight. The salt flat was huge, with a shiny white surface.
I arrived in Salinas Grandes and was amazed by its beauty. It was a relief to get to a safe place where I could rest and fix the bike. All I had to do was turn it off and wait a few minutes, and everything started working again, like magic.
Panel problem resolved. I got on the motorbike and headed into the salt flat, riding my motorbike through the middle of the salt flat. Incredible feeling. But I wonder what it will be like to ride on the Salar de Uyuni, 100 times bigger!
Fortunately, I had arrived in Salinas Grandes safely. It was an epic journey, full of challenges and emotions. But I had managed to overcome them all, and I was ready to continue my journey.

Que legal rever por onde eu passei em Novembro 2019, mas vamos novamente, agora na sua garupa. Eu Fui neste salar mas n tive coragem de sair do caminho principal, rodei apenas 3 km. Mas mais uma vez um show de vídeo. (Bora Rodar).
Muito maneiro .. estive aí na manhã do meu acidente e sim é magnífico o lugar ..quero voltar ainda este ano para concluir .
