    nice review, usually i watch something of yours, look for it here in the UK and cant find it. love your enthusiasm and the high pressure water test is a good way to go to the limit (rain isnt like that ;)
    anyway, i found this item on amazon uk too, looks like its going to be on my list.
    great video as always, keep up the good work

    Now that's a water test! This pack has no frills, it's all about utility and performance. Like it but wish they had a 30L model with the non waterproof exterior front pocket like the 25 L has. Regardless I think a lot of bang for the buck.
    The Pro 30L has some nice upgraded features for + $20 (heavier padded looking shoulder straps, interior liner, 2 zippered mesh waist belt pockets, + 2 oz). As always a thorough, interesting and fun review. Thx.

      +LearningToBePrepared Thanks for watching. It would be hard to scuba with this backpack, since it wants to float.

    In my opinion this bags is great if you will be using it around water but if you only want to protect the contents from rain, I use a 30l dry bag inside my edc rucksack.

  • @FrederickReddie

    Dry, Dry, and Dry, haha! I picked up the Sealline 30l, but no water bottle pockets, so I like that one much better. Great bag for the pool or beach.

    I agree about the back of the pack ideas. What capacity is that? It doesn't look very big.

  • @nikoals777

    I bet, you could use it to carry water in there. But would the straps support it's weight filled with water?

    Hi from the UK, great video as ever. Just a thought that may have already been mentioned or regarded as unlikely, but, thinking about your submersion/fallen into water test, I'm not sure I'd want effectively a buoyancy aid on my back, especially if I'd been knocked out, that would have the tendency to roll me face down.

    Excellent Test scenarios! Greetings from Germany! 🇩🇪

  • @DanielSultana
    @DanielSultana 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm pretty sure that during the full submersion test, the water only came in while opening it, air coming out does not mean water going in, the air was going out as the water pressure was squeezing it out, infect by the end of the test, you could see the backpack had taken the shape of the paper rolls.

    • @TheUrbanPrepper
      @TheUrbanPrepper  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great observation! It would be fun to retest for longer after all the air was out. I believe Aqua Quest states that it is only designed for limited submersion.

    Do the water bottle sleeves have drain holes? TUP, did you experiment with different ways to secure the top to see if you could get a better seal? Does it rain much in Seattle ? (asks the guy who lived in Portland for many years).

      +Yoo Toob Hi Yoo, The sport 30 has mesh in the waterbottle sleeves to drain water effectively.

    nice video tup. looks like a nice bag for smartphone, tablet, or basic comms gear. just wondering what if you had a few more turns on the top closure,would it be more waterproof then? Also would you prefer your favorite backpack, then adding a dry back inside?
    as always buddy thanks for sharing

    So, I would really like to see how this works as a floatation device. Maybe an indoor pool or wait till summer?

    Use the heavy duty garbage bag to float the pack or you across the deep creek. Or use a pack poncho (review ?) to help keep the pack dry... Are you getting rain this time of year ? Thank you for the video ! tjl

    Most pack I saw have no pocket. I think it would comprise the waterproof with the sewing process. But there after market organizer that can be used:

    Hi Cliff, Very thorough review and great feedback. Glad you like the Sport 30! I'll be sure to pass your feedback on to our design department. Nice to see it held up under such a direct high pressure stream of water for an extended period. If the bag leaked in the extended submersion test then there is potential that it is a due to a manufacturing defect. This is very rare but it does happen. We offer a 2 year warranty on defective gear, and would be happy to send you a replacement. It would also be great for our own research and testing purposes to test this specific pack for failure to learn exactly why and how it failed in these test conditions. If you would be able to return the pack to us, we'll cover the shipping costs, in addition to sending you out a replacement. Please email me to arrange the exchange (info@aquaquestonline.com) -Kevin

      +Aqua Quest Thank you for the detailed response and for watching the video! I had a blast testing it. I used it for an EDC backpack for a few months. I was not expecting the full submersion test to work, since I was under the impression that it was just protected from temporary submersion. I can definitely return it if it would help your QA team, although I'm happy with it as is.

    Who is #80 that isn't on the roster?

  • @deadbeatbillionaires
    @deadbeatbillionaires 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Test not really accurate. First, without force, it would be nearly impossible for the bag to be fully submerged. Second, The bag is designed to float. Third, this is not a diving bag, divers are not taking anything in a bag underwater that can't get wet. The bag is 100% waterproof when used for what it was designed for. Boating, canoeing and any wet condition. AND This is not a hiking bag. NO FAIL HERE
