You might like Marco better to sing this song with Floor, but Henk is the legit Phantom for the Dutch's production of The Phantom of the Opera.

Remember, those are Professional Singers themselves who are awestruck by Floor. Them loosing their shit over Her and Henk’s performance speaks more highly than anything else could about her musical gifts. Also, I’m pretty certain that if she ever looked at me like she looked at Henk; I’d just happily drop dead on the spot....

Henk was the original phantom in the dutch version of this musical. He sounds awesome. I think you can t compare him with Marco. 2 different singers. Henk is classical trained. But I love the part when he used the distortion in his voice... a no go for a bariton singer but he did it as am hommage to Floors metal background. It sounds awesome

None of the singers on Beste Zangers 2019 knew much about Floor when the show started because metal music isn't popular in the Netherlands. They had just been told that she performed in a metal band. Floor was picked to perform the first song of the season, and she chose "Vilja Lied" as a tribute to Henk, one of her opera idols. The other singers were "Floored" when she broke out her operatic style in "Vilja Lied". She had Henk in tears before the end of the song. "Vilja Lied" Beste Zangers 2019

Ayreon is a project by Arjen Lucassen and not really a band.
Per album you can expect a lot of guest musicians and only a few fixed ones.

The audience are all pro singers. This was a reality show where each episode featured one of them, and the others sang to that person. This was the final song of the show, on the duets finale.

Definitely do another reaction with your wife. Maybe don't tell her you have seen it yet? I think she will love it. Nightwish has not performed this song since the video you watched from 2005. It was one of Tarja's signature songs and they wanted to leave it as is for the fans. Now things may have changed. Henk Poort is the opera singer who actually played the part of the Phantom in the Dutch production several years ago. Floor saw that production as a young girl and has idolized Henk ever since then. She claims to be a fan girl for Henk and relished the opportunity to sing this song with Henk. Henk agreed to do it if he was invited to perform with Nightwish on stage in Amsterdam next on their tour. Floor was enthralled by the idea and brought it to the boys for a grand idea. Hopefully this will happen in November 2020 when Nightwish plays 2 shows at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. This Beste Zangers show was a Dutch TV show featuring 7 different popular singers from the Netherlands, all from different genres. Floor was probably the most unknown singer due to her genre (Symphonic metal) not garnering much media attention or radio airplay in the Netherlands.
This show just ended a couple of weeks ago. Each week one of the singers was paid tribute to by having the other 6 singer perform a song by either the singer they were honoring, or of a song that the singer felt a close connection to or was influenced by in their career or life. It was a great show an all of the 7 singers were very good in their own right. You should check out all of Floors performances and a couple of the other singers too. Check them out below. Floor will show you as she showed the Netherlands what she is capable of beyond the heavy metal genre. They have discovered their home girl in a big way after this show aired. Floor has booked 9 solo shows around th Netherlands and all 9 sold out within 24 hours. Now she has added a 10th show in Amsterdam in a 5500 seat arena called AFAS and it too sold out within 24 hours. Great reaction. You have to react to Floor's other songs on this Dutch TV-show. It's a show where those 7 singers, representing different styles (pop, rock, opera,...), each have their own day when they talk about their lives. On that day the other 6 then sing that person's songs, or songs that are important to him/her. There were 6 great performances by Floor + this duet day in Beste Zangers 2019.
The background of Floor and Henk is as a young teen she heard him sing the Phantom and started fangirling him! So almost thirty years later when she heard he was on this show(and they had asked her to be on the show as well) she wanted to sing POTO with him and he agreed after their first duet rehearsal together. I think all of that is correct but if not, the Nightwish Army will correct me.
Henk agreed before he knew Floor.
The team from beste zangers told him she wanted to sing this with him, and he said okay, i will, if i can perform it with Nightwish on stage, when they are in Amsterdam, his hometown.
After they met they rehearsed ones, and he realised how epic their duet was.
During the rehearsal he didn't use distortion.
He did it in the live show to surprise her.
As an opera singer he never used it.
He learned how to do it from his vocal coach, for Floor. When he sang Sound of silence for her.
I cannot wait to see her do this song with Marco! It's gonna be epic.

Henk played Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch version The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in the first staging of the Dutch version of Les Misérables in the late 1990s. He is also someone who Floor admires very much!

If you want to see that Henk can properly sing, even in metal style, look at his rendition of The Sound of Silence from the same show, which he is singing to Floor. And notice how he does that all sitting down, without apparent movement.
So, this is a Dutch program with Dutch singers. Nobody would ever think about inviting The Finnish Marco to this show? When they heard they had to do a duet, Floor invited Henk to perform The Phantom of the Opera. Henk aswerred: Okay, but i want to do that again when you come with your band Nightwish to the Ziggodome next year.
So deal was made. And sp with Nightwish, still no Marco;). (For the Dutch show)
Coming November Nightwish is coming to my country, the Netherlands, and Henk will be on stage there as well to have a duet with Floor like this one... and I'll be there (with my brothers)! Can't wait!

Marco is awesome, but this is Henk's wheelhouse. Marco performs with Nightwish all the time. Also Marco isn't Dutch, so he would never be invited on this show.

Your ignorance is really quite touching. Henk did the phantom part in the dutch version of the musical, and have probably forgotten more about how to sing this than Marco will ever learn. Here he kinda takes a step back and lets Floor have the glory, as the gentleman he is.

Tarja Turunen was the first vocalist from Nightwish and was with the band from 1996 to 2005. Anette Olzon was the band's second vocalist and was with them from 2007 to 2012. Finally, Floor Jansen joined them in 2012 as a touring member and then became a permanent member in 2013.

The people watching these two sing already had floorgasms earlier in the show. THey are all performers and this was the show closer! Floor also got to open the show! :) Check out the entire season (season 12) from 2019. BUT, I have to say something.
AVROTROS, the youtube channel that has all the performances from this show, has done somebody dirty. Denise Hofs is a total angel among us; she took time out of her days after work and translated the entirety of this season's full episodes for the English-speaking world without receiving or expecting any compensation, and AVROTROS had ALL of her videos from the show taken down from YT without a word to her. They have so far refused to contact her after she has tried contacting them. This youtube channel got THOUSANDS of extra views BECAUSE of Denise and they threw her under the bus.
I would LOVE to organize a Boycott of them and have the channel die out from under them for what they did to Denise. I guess, give them a view for each performance because the music and vocals are awesome and amazing, but don't give them a like, don't subscribe, etc. Because in my opinion, they don't deserve the time of day.
If Denise did this all without the approval of the avrotros it is legit for them to take it down, ther is something that is called copyright, so don't talk shit.

That's true, but I also loved the duet Marco-Tarja. Marco impersonated the phantom in quite another style, but also very impressively. So I do understand the curiosity of mr. T.! Personally I think it's a luxury to have two interpretations in totally different styles that are both very much worth listening to.
Next year, these two will do the same song during 2 Nightwish concerts. If Marco joins in, you may just get what you wish for!

Well, here it is the fall of 2022 and I can see from your list of videos that Floor has fallen off your radar so I thought I'd take the opportunity to point out that this past year has been delving into her solo projects. In fact last fall (2021) she did some solo concerts in Amsterdam which you and your wife might have some interest in. "Man, he knows that is TOO MUCH woman for him!" Yes well, Henk is 5'10"-5'11". Floor is 6'2" 200lbs maybe more. She was a competitive bodybuilder in her 20s and has trophies from all over Europe, maybe all over the world idk. I know she can beat the crap out of me lol.
I'm still a big fan of Tarja Turunen but she is not the singer Floor is. Tarja cannot hit that D6 last note that Floor held for 10 seconds and the reason is Tarja is a Mezzo Soprano and Floor is a Dramatic Coloratura Soprano.
It was a stroke of genius for Tuomas Holopainen to offer Floor the lead singer position after Anette Olzon left Nightwish. It solidified the band and brought Floor out of a deep depression she had been stuck in after she left her last band Revamp.
Where did you get she used to bodybuild? TH-cam comment section? And she is also still "only" 6' ft tall. And she didn't have a deep depression she had a burn-out. I'm sorry if I sound rude I don't know how else to correct all of the misinformation 😅

Guy Wilms Floet nope, it means ‘(the) best singers’. It can be translated in different ways, but they definitely mean ‘best’ here, you can read it in the Dutch description of the show.
@@MIGHTYcbu In earlier seasons it still was a kind of a contest indeed: "Who would you ask to replace you if you couldn't sing?". So Beste Zangers = best singers. However, the show evolved into more of a celebration of music and of the guests. The question of the host no longer is "who did one of your songs the best/who would you ask to replace you?" but "what performance touched you the most/meant the most for you?". So in the last few years I would say Beste Zangers = dear singers.

We are in competition for views and subs. No one would click the video if it just said “Reaction Video” or had a boring thumbnail. You may not like it but verbiage can be the difference between your video being seen or not.

I am not really interested in things I dont like. So if your title would be "amazing performance and my reaction" or something like that, I wouldnt have a problem to watch.
But maybe its just me, I have subscribed to maybe 4 channels on YT in I dont know how many years. Because eventually all channels will become different. I don't like Marko's voice... This is an absolute masterpiece. Incredible combination, Floor with Henk.
Given that Floor is not a classically trained vocalist - she only studied musicals & opera part-time for 2 years - what she lacks in proper classical vocal technique, she more than compensates with her ability to convey emotions.
@Peter Ang Being able to sing with classical vocal style does not make Floor classically trained. Two years of part time studies in musical theater & opera do not equal several years of full time studies in a conservatory. Besides, Floor has never said that she is classically trained like e.g. Tarja Turunen is.
