Yes, she is the singer of Nightwish.
Yes...its Floor from Nightwish, it was the metal version of Phantom, he is an opera singer, who is also the Dutch Phantom. Henk had to learn to growl for this show because he is Floor's idol and he tried to do some symphonic metal for her. I agree with you about him growling on this song...he did it effectively on his cover of Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence also from this show. Floor was just hamming it up because it was something different..
It is Floor Jansen and Floor is a fangirl for him since her youth because Henk Poort played the dutch Phantom back when Floor was young
And he became a "fanboy" of her during the show and the growling he did was a tribute/a gift to her - and it was absolutely fun stuff as you can see on the reactions of all others. So 10/10.
Pro tip: "The Phantom of the Opera" is a musical, not an opera. This is for those who may not be aware of such a thing.
This is the best version of the "Phantom" and no fake opera voices there. 😜🎶

Think she misinterpreted Floor's accent on that. She also ends some words with T instead if D but she's bloody amazing - speaks Dutch, Finnish, English and some German so think we can let it go :)

The show is a dutch show called "beste zangers" or "best singers".
Its a show where each season a group of dutch performers are spending a week with eachother and performing adaptations of songs from their "competitors". Henk Poort is famous for, amongst others, his role as the phantom in the dutch version of this musical.
Floor (yes from nightwish) always saw Henk as a rolemodel and now had the chance to work with him.
This performance was not planned but both saw the opportunity to do this duet and it was put in the show as the grand finale.
If you have a chance you could listen to some more performances of this great show.
(My guess is that this tv format will probably take off in other countries too, it is good)
This show already exists in many countries. I believe US should do it to.😊
Keep in mind, this was Season Twelve, so we know they are doing SOMETHING right! I am just glad that it is not a competition like what we know over here! There are some truly great performers that go through that show, I love it!

As far as i can see the production company FTV Productions has not sold the format internationally yet, but i could be mistaken.
@@jelle_smid We have it here in Denmark.😊 Sweden has it to. I think Norway is on that list to. But the name on the show is different from country to country. I have seen at least 6-8 seasons of the Danish show. I don't know witch country invented the show. Maybe Wickipedia knows?🙂

Beste Zangers is from the netherlands where musicians are brought together, tell their stories and perform for the other musicians favorite songs. Great Show. And if you want to listen to more music of floor jansen at beste zangers, you should listen to "Que Se Siente" , "Vilja Lied" , "I dont know a thing about love" and her single cover of "Shallow". Great Voice and Sound :)

Nice reaction, Yes, Floor Jansen is the 3rd and still current female lead singer since October of 2012. I believe you did a reaction to her singing with them on their song 'Ghost Love Score'. Which BTW is the is the most reacted to song, in the history of music reaction videos. A bit ahead of Jinjer-Pisces. As Nightwish is the most reacted to artist or band in the history of music reactions videos. Since you like PotO so much. For all you ignorant folks like me Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland. Never heard of such a thing, but that was fun, campy and wee off the wall. Perfect for a Thursday. (Looking at a couple of suggestions in the comments and checking them out, this is the epitome of a Viking Band. Floor is a shield maiden I swear, other than she's Dutch.lol.)

Floor and Henk performed Nightwishs version of "The Phantom of the Opera".
Henk is the Dutch phantom for a long time now. He enjoyed adding this growl that he better not add when he is at work.
He will perform with Nightwish when the band hits the Netherlands.
There are a lot of performances on "Beste Zangers" you can react to... Floors version of "Shallow" (for example) was on top of the Dutch charts.
In this show, Floor loves the version of the Sound of Silence done by the band Disturbed. Henk does a cover for Floor, of this song. her face says it all

About Beste Zangers: They collect a bunch of well-known Dutch singers and put them together and let them sing for each other. Some years it's OK, some years not. 2019 they invited Floor (who is Dutch, even though she's in the Finnish band Nightwish and lives in Sweden) and the show was a super-success and Floor suddenly became famous in Netherlands (Dutch radio NEVER plays metal, so she wasn't known there before).

Henk Poort sings it professionally and is Andew Lloyd Webers favourite singer of it. Beste Zangers is a Dutch show where Dutch singers basically sing each others songs in their own way.
Well, you have something in common with Floor Jansen.
She went to see the Dutch production of "Phantom" as a child, and fell in love with it and absolutely idolised the Dutch Phantom (who Andrew Loyd Webber stated was his favourite Phantom of all the productions around the world). That Phantom was Henk Poort - so this was a dream come true for her, and the fulfilment of a childhood fantasy! As Henk is a huge fan of hers too, he agreed to perform it provided they could repeat it on stage with Nightwish, which is scheduled to happen, but schedules have been rather wrecked for the time being.
Henk put the rasp in his voice just to give credit to Floor and to honour her and her metal background.
He did that just for the second time in his life. First was during another song in this show.
Floor on the other hand not just sang the song but played a role. And because of that she coloured her voice in the way you didnt like.
And just by the way: Phantom of the opera is a musical, not an opera. ;)
You got it. That is Floor Jansen. They were doing more of the heavy version. That was the first time Henk used distortion on his voice just for Floor. Henk actually played the role of the Phantom in the Dutch production many years ago.

Hi Maunalee, As another reactor said (Elizabeth from The charismatic voice), Phantom of the Opera is NOT an Opera, It is in fact, a musical. Due to the Metal background of Floor, Henk Poort the Dutch Phantom had to learn to growl without destroying his vocal cords, as a pure opera baritone, he takes care of it as gold. This was a metal version of the Phantom, not the classical one. I'm sure you know that. In that Show, this duet was the most expected to the audience. Fun fact: Floor fangirl Henk Poort since her childhood. I was waiting for you and the "LIkes Magnet" Charlotte to react to this song.

8 seconds of D6 at the end, second time Henk is using distortion in his live, first time he did it with the Sound of Silence, Henk only needed 2 hours to learn to sing with distortion. Singing with distortion is a big NoNo in opera, it can get you fired..
This was the most anticipated performance of the whole Beste Zangers season. Everybody wondered if Floor would duet Phantom with Henk, as Nightwish had covered the song during their time with their original singer Tarja Turunen, and Henk Played the Dutch "Phantom" for a long, long time. Both the rock arrangement and the harsh vocal bit were odes to the Nightwish version. Did you catch the drops of rain dripping from the roof? There was a downpour going on outside.

Disturbed did a cover version of the Sound of Silence which Henk Port also performed his version in the same show in which this version of Phantom Of The Opera came from. Btw, Beste zangers is a Dutch reality television show. In each series a number of well-known performers alternate as the central artist who picks songs out of their own repertoire to be sung by the others. The original performer judges the "covers" of their songs done by the participants.

For the record the man Frank poor actually played The Phantom of the Opera for the Dutch production of the show and yes that is floor Jansen from Nightwish.

Great reaction! You should check out the original Nightwish version of Phantom from their live End of an Era concert video. It features Tarja, the band's first female lead, who was a little more classical opera focused with her vocals. The thing that makes that the best version to me is Marco on male vocals. He's absolutely amazing and his Phantom has an extremely dark and sinister feel which I think better matches the character.
I agree, and Tarja's strong operatic voice works really well in the role of Christine too. Marco's and Tarja's voices blended well, and their interaction was fun too. It's my favourite version.

Tough to pick a good recommendation if you prefer an operatic sound; some of her Nightwish songs have more of an operatic component, and some don't. She did do a operatic solo "Vilja Lied" in the Dutch singing competition "Beste Zangers 2019" @ th-cam.com/video/k4Bp7exJufs/w-d-xo.html, (for the male opera singer you saw in the "Phantom" video, to show off her opera chops to him). Probably the best bet would be her duet with Simone Simons of Epica in "Sancta Terra" @ th-cam.com/video/cx22Yuj2nzg/w-d-xo.html -- (2,746,203 views + 1,331 comments as of today, July 23). Lots of fun with both!
