Yes tick and the app has short comings. But the way I use them it works well. All my tool cases and all my packout cases haves ticks in/on them. In the app all the packout cases has a description of what is in them and/or which’s tool are in them... I have multi location where my tool could be. A job site, the shop, my home, my daughters’ house, or lent to a coworker.... if I need a tool I know where it is... or at least where it was last at. I find this very helpful.
I got a couple free in a prize drawing at supply house a while ago now and opened them tonight. Sounds like one would be better off getting the apple tag for personal use.
I bought a 4 pack of these a few months ago. They were super cheap, less than $20 i think for the 4 pack. I just got around today to mess w/ them. Got the app & set-up an account etc. I played around w/ 1 of them for a while & was like "these suck". Jumped on youtube to see what other people were saying. I just pulled the batteries out & trashed all 4, then Uninstalled the app. Looks like I paid around $20 for 4 CR2032 batteries (I have plenty of other uses for those).
This feature can be very easily integrated within the tools themselves. The power required to power it can be drawn from the battery you put on the tool. A thief can be easily take the tick off
Thank you for the very good review. I would like to see a comparison between the existent tracking softwares in the market - DeWalt, Milwaukee, Hilti. Do you know anyone more?
We’ve tried using these in the field on our commercial and residential jobs. Biggest problem is having to have the app running on a phone at the job. The app running on your phone in the background drains the phones battery super quick. Guys shut the app down and then there’s no accurate tracking because no one wants to run the app. 👎🏻
It’s a good idea. Air tag works amazing in the sense that it’s the entire Apple ecosystem. Milwaukee doesn’t have that ecosystem to help it thrive like that.
These are ok but the limited range is an issue. I would love to see someone develop a fingerprint technology similar to what the did for guns built into the trigger where only the owner of that tool can operate it. Rendering it useless to thieves or sticky fingers on the jobsite. I can only imagine the price tag though.
I just bought a 4 pack, after reading more into it I will be returning them. My AirTags do a better job and with more precision…. And I’m not counting that there is millions of Apple phones out there to ping to.
The problem 100% is very few have those tool apps installed on their phones, whereas Tag and Samsung Plus or first-gen, ping off far greater phones of Apple and Samsung, bad part is, both Samsung and Apple alert the thief that there's a tracker on them. SO IN MY OPINION, THEY ALL DON'T PROTECT FROM THEFT, SO TAKE MOST OF YOUR TOOLS HOME AND SECURE THEM..
You want the Ticks to beep? You serious? So your tool gets stolen and you start messing with the app to find it. It then begins beeping in the thief's vic so he pulls over and pulls it off the tool and throws the Tick in the ditch. Yep genius...
I think these trackers are rubbish because it is limited to a people who have this app, and also it is visible on tool and easy to get rid of. I opened a couple of my tools and inserted apple AirTag inside the plastic tool body. More people are using Apple device than users with Milwaukee app can be found, and also it would be difficult for a thief to spot AirTag inside the tool and remove it. If my tools are stolen, it will take about 12 hours for me to find out about that it was stolen. I can then track the location of my tools and call cops. I'm sure AirTag will be still inside my tool and location will be accurate. If I used Milwaukee or dewalt tracker it can be easily removed from the tool and in that case you won't find your tools. I don't understand why toolmakers like dewalt Milwaukee festool etc don't collaborate with apple and implement AirTag technology with their tools. If AirTag is part of a tool and can't be removed because it is part of a PCB, then thieves wouldn't steal any tools because they would be found faster than they could sell them. I will rather pay £30 $30 extra for tool that have AirTag technology inside than have option to mount some tag from outside which can be removed in seconds. Also, I will rather buy tools from company that protects end users with this technology and I will feel more safe buying tools from that company knowing that it won't be stolen and if so I will find my tools in a couple of hours and recover them. In London where I'm based is lots of site burglary and thieves clean the site in a couple of minutes and take all tools without cases or boxes. These tools are sold next day in another part of London, and sometimes this people sell you your own stolen tools. Luckily I didn't experience this, but I'm ready to track my tools if they are stolen. I think every company should work with apple and implement this in their products, and we all will benefit from this.
All pawn shops should be required to have the app running 24/7
good idea
Amazing idea
and don't make a quick 50 bucks? No chance 😂

what about having packout light with iphone inside conected with tags and still charging during night with running data? i think it can solve it
That's a great point on having the clap 👏 on clap off the clapper for your tools. I would use it more then the tracking option,

Yeah they are not worth it yet. They need to be better. If they would make a sound and use wifi instead of Bluetooth it would be way better.
I don't understand your point. Yes, 20$ it's too much for only the tick, but you're paying the app as well. That's why it's completely free 🤷🏻♂️
@@JosePereira-xm6sethe point is it sucks including the app
The one put out out by Apple would be a good choice.
$20 for 4 trackers? They're £30+ for just 1 here in UK.

So does it not track and report to you unless someone has the app ? Or will it report to Milwaukee no matter what
That beeb is on the new Milwaukee one key version
Thank you for the very good review. I would like to see a comparison between the existent tracking softwares in the market - DeWalt, Milwaukee, Hilti. Do you know anyone more?
The odds of everyone having an app installed to even get a location with Dewalt or Milwaukee are next to zero
Exactly, it doesn’t make much sense to me.
How can I attach this to batteries

Only on job sites? What if gone to other neighbors states?
It’s all on Bluetooth so not very good compared to an AirTag or something similar
What brand would you purchase ?
I prefer the Apple air tags, the dewalt and Milwaukee seem pointless to me.
Is their something better out yet. On these?
not yet, i'm just using apple air tags for important things,
@@hammerandhome thanks-- that's what I was thinking --also.. trying to find something ..really good --
Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep looking 👀
I use AirTags , pretty happy with them
Why would you want it to make a noise? The thieves will hear it going off and throw the tracker away .
I just bought a 4 pack, after reading more into it I will be returning them. My AirTags do a better job and with more precision…. And I’m not counting that there is millions of Apple phones out there to ping to.
yeah they just don't make sense yet. they need to do a bit more upgrading to make them worth buying
Well that's just dumb. GPS is the way to go. Nice video and good info.

Thanks for a great review and for keeping it real!!!
My pleasure, thanks for watching
Good review 👍
You’re better off getting Apple air tags and a 3d printed case that matches the tick instead. Apple air tags are far superior
Totally agree 👍
Smart thinking
50 for $120 on Amazon.
These dont help if someone steals your shit and thats what someone needs this for.....
I feel like apple's airtag is just a lot better of a choice.
It's smaller and works a lot better.

Dani says hi
What does Dewalt make other than the jobsite table saw that is better than what Milwaukee makes? Ill wait. lol
Answer: Not a darn thing!!!
Reply, drywall gun, flexvolt line, power station, circ saw. But i do agree, Milwaukee is very impressive. And I seem to have more of it now. LOL
Its rubbish. Last update of location was over a year ago.
😂I never use them. Air tags are way better
👍🏻🍻🍺🤙🏼
pit it on a tool
We can’t hear you!!!!!!
This is a colossal nothing burger - too big, and 100 feet make this a gimmick.
Sure does
Garbage dont buy
terrible review
