- Following up from the previous FreeCAD video where I made an assembly of a toggle clamp in the new Ondsel ES FreeCAD that is currently in development I revisit fixing the problems I had and share some tips. The previous Onsdel video can be found at:

These videos are amazing and so so helpful! You really make freecad come alive.
I might have missed it - is the freecad file with this assembly available for download anywhere? It would be great to play around with to get hands on with the new assembly WB
Thank you for all the amazing content over the years
Thanks for the update, I plan on reviewing this series again, very powerful WB!
You said A2plus was slower in your last video, we made some effort to improve it, so try out the new version and see what you think 😊
Wow, didn't know that, I will take a look 😍
On the Facebook " freecad" page I posted a yt video from a cad user, you compared onsel fusion and an other cad software package..., I thought it was a good assessment. The comments have been fantastic. And a comment from " Mac " the moderator highlighted that freecad was " developed" by quite literally " a handful of people"....…I . We forget that this software is made. Maintenand by a few....😅 .... I hope onsel will lift. Freecad to the levels ( and ease of use) of the other software packages
First of all, a very good channel with concise information. If you are looking for ideas, I have one. I've been struggling with modeling INSIDE of a cylinder. To be more descriptive, I have been attempting to place vertical ribs around the circumference inside a cylinder with varying success. Your insight would be very helpful.
Many ways to do this. Easyist is to draw the cyl end profile with the ribs and pad it lengthwise. Or, add a single rib to the inside and do a polar array. If the ribs are complex, do the cyl then draw the ribs on a plane longitudinal to cyl, then pad ? Loads of ways ?
Very Significant timing because I am trying out FreeCAD 0.22.0dev and the Assembly WB is already included. I do not plan on trying the Ondsel yet. I am wondering if there is a plan to create a 0.22.0dev video that maybe is a fresh start (beginner) and just include all the tip and tricks from these Ondsel videos, but w/o feeling obligated to comparing everything back and forth from the 0.22.0dev to the Ondsel. This is really confusing, I have tried a simpler model and it broke several times but not as many times as you encountered with this project. I plan on watching the previous Ondsel videos up to this one until I make my project work assuming the qondsel and the 0.22 Assemby are close to the same. I feel this Assembly WB is the future!
Thanks so much. I encountered some of the same results but you are so much better at FreeCAD my brain doesn't propose any possible solutions! Lol
Hi, Thank you very much for sharing your expertice! I don´t know where to ask the next question, so I apologise: Having a spreadsheet with data in a matrix, how can I do an array so each item of it pulls its own value from the spreadsheet. Example: having a circle that is multiplied n times with the array, I would like to constrain each one with a specific radius pulled from the spreadsheet. I know that with the multitransform tool I can do a scaled array, but it uses a fixed scale. thank you very much!!!
wish I could enable this workbench with all features in weekly build of freeCAD
It's a separate branch so ends up being a separate installation. But they will be merging into the main branch of freeCAD
@@MangoJellySolutionsI have downloaded the Ondsel, but it wont install. I get missing api-ms-win-core-path...... error. Seems a few folk have this issue. I aint in a hurry.. up to ondsel to fix, or at least put into on their website 👍. I saw something about motherboards, but TBH I still run win 7 cos of other software I use. So probably my end 😂.
Having brought in a clone of a part (especially one you don't want to, and haven't yet modified), is there a way to simply substitute one for the other?
I'm having problems getting the parts to move when dragging with the mouse. It works sometimes when I load a file and other times the won't move. I thought it might be the version of FreeCad nightly but it's seems to do it regardless of the program build version. I would love to know if you've run into this and how you got it working again.
Do you have a solution/is there a way to "link"/attach joints to each other? like to combine 2 rotate joints on two gears to make them rotate together? maybe with a gear ratio for both joints when combined? I love your videos and how you discribe stuff for dummies like me :D
I'm curious as to whether you could design and test an assembly that could be 'print in place' on a 3d printer?
I have done a couple of tutorials regarding this. Just found the links. They are simple assemblies but they are all print in place th-cam.com/video/GZjY7GaqUMw/w-d-xo.html

Still like assembly 3 better
This isn't FreeCAD, is it?
This ondsel, like thunder, are branches that can be found in the freecad github repository.
This is Ondsel, which is a fork of freecad being developed by the Ondsel company. It adds a paid cloud collaboration addon as a means of funding. They're looking to develop freecad up to an enterprise level
