Poor Sam - he was very professional in handling this so elegantly. I'm not sure why this isn't considered inappropriate. If a male interviewer was asking a woman these questions he'd be called out in a heartbeat. If you don't believe me, find the video of Scarlett Johansson repeatedly calling out male interviewers for asking what she wears under her Avengers' costume, and rightfully so.

Look, for all the comments of how Sam hates getting asked if he wears a kilt “traditionally”, he has to expect to get this question, especially since he produced a show called “Men in Kilts”!! 🤣🤣… He has a good sense of humour, and he clearly takes it in stride. I thought Drew made that whole segment fun, more than any other interviewer who’s asked that question! She was so much fun to watch with him, just authentic, and clearly Sam was enjoying it! Why is it ok to ask Sam what he wears under his kilt? They do it EVERY time!
Traditionally they don't wear anything underneath them but I get it, it's no one's business if they do or don't.

Scottish kilt wearing guy here, it's traditional for Scots to go commando in a kilt, and it's just a common question that nobody gets offended by. Unless you're in Scotland it's fairly unusual to see a man in a kilt so it's a natural question. If a man is confident enough to wear a kilt in public, he won't be offended by that question. Also she's obviously flirting REAL hard
I love Drew so much. I'm not sure if they asked Sam if it would be ok to ask these questions before coming out there. But I hope they did. He seemed a little uncomfortable. These questions just kept coming. 😂

Ach guys (ladies), don't get so upset about the kilt-question. My partner is Scottish and he just knows as soon as he dons his kilt in a non-traditional setting (outside of weddings, national rugby or St. Andrew's day) the question will inevitably come up. His go-to answer to "What do you have underneath your kilt?" is usually either "enough" or "shoes"...
Obviously a smart funny answer can solve the problem best...

Why must everyone ask this poor man if he wears underwear under his Kilt? He must be so damn tired of it and for the world we live in now if the same occurred to a woman over and over again it would be a big deal. Leave the poor guy alone. Btw... I turn off any interview that asks this question at that point because it's wildly inappropriate.
I did like the way she asked, swinging her hand in a pendulous way. Which Sam asked if it meant breezy...but please...we knew what she was inferring. And also, some of us haven't been watching every single interview with Sam. I am a new viewer to Outlander. It's 2022, and I am just getting started.

Lol. I'm Scottish and of course men don't wear underwear under their kilts. Normal.
Sam will NEVER NOT feel comfortable being asked about if he's "free ballin" UNDER HIS KILT. He even stated in an interview he hates being asked that- - "it's inappropriate as men asking women would be inappropriate too". He handles it well but you can tell by his face... annoyed about it.

It’s all in good fun, most fans of Outlander love it, and it promotes his show Men In Kilts. All celebrities also answer the same questions over and over again to promote their work. May want to stop watching interviews with him in it for a while if you’re tired of the kilt questions 🤷🏽♀️

I remember an interview where the interviewer tried asking Scarlett Johansson what kind of underwear she wore in one of her movies and everyone thought it was so inappropriate but because Sam is a man apparently it's okay to keep asking 🤔

He should have said that traditionally women also didn't wear underwear under their skirts. It's even in the books. At some point, they discuss that Claire and Brianna don't wear anything under their skirts.
Indeed, very few people know about the fashion in Middle Ages .No secret, at that time, women wore no underwear......it's stated in the history books on that matter ( and also a BBC documentary on that matter depicting very clearly the women's clothes and how they were dressing at that time )..
