no Internet no cellphones...just good musics..what a great era
The guitars, big hair, hot women, and stacks of Marshal amps. Incredible decade of music!
GREAT SONG , GREAT VIDEO, AND GEORGE LYNCH IS DEFINATELY IN THE TOP 10 BEST GUITARISTS OF ALL TIME >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> : )
Long Hair Rocks!❤❤😊
Right on
Agreed
Vero ragazzi!
Released: 1985
Album: Under Lock and Key
Artist: Dokken
Genre: Rock
Yep - I was 21, fresh outta college. No jobs, I was trenching in flow lines on gas wells between LaBarge, WY & Rawlins, WY with my headphones on - a cassette Walkman playing Dokken, WASP, Judas Priest, and KIX . . . Party on!!
Oh - and burning my paychecks on batteries, beer, and coke
The guitar riffs of the 80s will never be repeated.
There will never be another decade of music like the 80s.
LOL. Duh. The same can be said about every single other decade in history. What's your next revelatory post going to be....that water is wet??? Fire is hot???
@@takecareofyourshoess Gosh, why so rude to the lady? Guess you didn't grow up in the 80s like I did.
F'kn A Bubba!!!

i TOTALLY AGREE, THE 80´S WERE INCREDIBLE, JUST INCREDIBLE.
GOD I miss the 80's!!!!!
The awesome 80s
When George Lynch hit a note you know he meant it! The pinch, the accuracy and the tone defined him. The way he has crafted the tiniest of details in this song amazes me every time.
He's still badass to this day.
He sure is. The man is a master. He is a beast.
Paul Gilbert once said the mark of a great guitarist lies in the vibrato, and I intuitively and independently arrived at a similar conclusion. The nuance makes all the difference. It’s what I love about the guitar. On a keyboard, notes are discrete pitches-you cannot really go in between one key and the next a semi-tone up. But guitars can bend, they can capture the full, continuous range, which allows the, to mimic the expressive range of a human voice.
one of the most underrated guitarists of the 80s
🤘😎🤘💜
Love their hair, the clothes, the guitar, their energy. This is how Rock and Roll should be nowadays. I love Dokken
R.I.P. KNAC ; great rock station....
This is a killer time capsule of an LA that doesn't exist anymore. Jim Ladd, the mighty MET, KNAC, and the excitement of crowds out having a good time. Dokken captured it all with this vid.
I was at the Rainbow that night they video this.
Long Beach Native here, yeah, L.A. was the Shizit! What happened????? :( OH... and don't forget KLOS! ;)
And the only band to ever shut down Hollywood Blvd for a vid.
@@soundgod3336 Great video..who was hoter than George Lynch..sinewy and sexy
@@catherinepape4611 They were as good as it gets!
My all-time favorite Dokken tune. 🎸🎸🎸
Good call.
Docken 1988 monsters of rock
went to Dallas, TX show at Cotton Bowl... Kingdom Come, Scorpions, Dokken, Van Halen
Ahhh those guitars.... Those lyrics... Sexy is the word.. no matter how many times you listen to this song.. you don't get bored of this sheer rock n roll mastery 🤘
Pure energy love my HS friends at the concert and after too lol new beatifu people crazy man NOTHING like the 80s
Even the so called ugliest of girls from back then would be considered Top models compared to the tattooed/pierced weird hair color freaks of today.
I am a huge Dokken fan, starting listening to this song in 1986,I will always appreciate and be thankful for Heavy Metal.
Always Dokken! Heavy Metal saved the World.
I was a teenager in the 80s partied like there was no tomorrow... the women were beautiful , the music was the best ever....did I mention the women?? In my 50s now and still have the 80s hair...💥
Good for you mate
Now u can't tell if it's a woman or a man😞
Fuck yeah
Rock some 80s eye make up from time to time. The hair won't do it anymore. 😂❤
I remember in 1985 the high school I went to had a smoking area, but a strict dress code. Boys had to have their hair above the collar. When I graduated, I grew my hair out for a few years... Then it started falling out on top. Mother fucker.
George Lynch did not get the recognition that he deserved... I really love the band and their music.
Dokken and RATT are my fav 80's rock band! George Lynch shredding the guitar! 😎💪
For me it' a tie between Dokken, Savatage, and Queensryche.
I loved all 80's hair bands. Winger, Seether , Aldo Nova, Saga, Ratt, Kix. But although they are not a hair band.. RUSH is unmatched and the best band to walk this planet.
Cinderella
Warren DeMartini is just as good as George Lynch. Almost the same playing styles.
I was waiting for someone to mention Warren...🤘😎🤘💜
Come back and listen to this every month or so. I am 55yrs old and STILL jam to these tunes from the 80s.
Same here dude!! Same here!!!
Me too !!
Same here , everyday at work I play the 80's. Saw Dokken with Twisted Sister. Awesome !
I'm 65, and STILL rock to Dokken!
I'm also 55 and I'm a professional guitarist and play along with Dokken's "Back for the Attack" album almost daily as a fun warmup!
Love this song.
24 yrs old when this came out. Best time of my life. The Roxy, Troubadour, Gazzarri's, Whiskey-a-go-go.... people have no idea what they missed!
Fucken A...…..
guy wright I lived it!
agreed... this was when concerts and the music scene was fun! and the women!!!
I lived it! I barely survived it but I lived it, too. Musician boyfriend, band playing the clubs, staying up all night and doing more than coffee to stay awake! I miss it the 80s
Fan from the very beginning
of their career.
UNDERRATED BAD ASS BAND!
They ALL rock.

80's nerver forget. So many good memories with goooooooood music.
When I was an exotic dancer, I use to dance to Dokken all the time!!! 👌
Good Girl!,✨
Thank you!
Nice!
Nice
Atta Girl..... glad you mentioned that because that was another thing about the 80s, the dancers Nationwide were Absolutely Gorgeous. Most of them worked two different jobs and Raised Kids because that's what Women did back then, and they didn't whine about it. They were Engaging, Funny, Down to Earth, Lovable, Brilliant, Loyal to the Bone, Generous, Proud, Caring, Nurturing, and Literally an Endless List of Positive Character Traits.... and when they danced their asses off, they were dancing to the absolute best music that has ever been known to mankind--- everything was better during the 80s because people were very respectful toward one another and cared about each other. We believe in neighbors-helping-neighbors, strangers helping strangers, we were complimentary toward each other, And probably most significant to bring it around full circle, is the FACT that we didn't TELL LIES back then Because the TRUTH was just soooo prevalent 95 % of the time. Integrity was still very much alive and well in the 80s. And when we did screw up we were usually in a hurry to face our consequences so we can put it behind us .... I could go on forever but I will leave you with this one example to give you an idea of what it was like to live and Rock in the 80s. We WERE, and ARE the last FEW of the Most Dynamic Group of Men and Women that will ever walk the face of this Earth, and during our era and nobody can speak to this unless they've actually been there and done that for real. Because there is a whole completely different feel to this group of people of phenomena if you will only really understand-- it can't be put into words, it is INNATE. it's BUILT IN - Its within all of us and it's just a NATURAL PART of our Being, a Genetic Phenomenon.... the last of a Dying Breed of Warriors who fostered and maintained certain values like honesty integrity, hard work, help others, love God, country and family, and most deals were made with a handshake or a nod of the head people kept their word. We returned wallets and pocketbooks more often than not with the money still in them. Yes I would say were A completely different breed
the lost art of kick ass hard rock!!!
Right on. They didn't call it glam back then. That's a new idea. If somebody called your favorite band 'glam' they'd get their butt kicked.
@@wayne3340 We absolutely used the term glam metal back then, they were an evolution of glam rock from the 70's from bands like Slade. In the early 80's glam metal term and hair metal were used for the pretty bands, big hair, make up and playing a pop like version of hard rock or metal. They got mainstream air play were Heavy metal didn't in most markets.
It would have been the heavy metal fans calling them glam, and chances are pretty high they would have been doing the ass kicking if anything.
This is good music, not hard rock.
When Ratt started they called themselves 'Fashion Metal'. Fun fact.
No mega
Take me off ur app and site. Whatever 😊 you're a liar dog and you in bed with Google. Your program will get exposed I bet you by this reporter I'm going to go and see behind your back
Don Dokken....Killer voice...... The 80's the best years of my life. The METAL BANDS......
UNRIVALLED!!!!!
There here now some have left us and they left good listening heaven it's not all hell down here . Music from the 80' s set the standard. The best still.
I was 18 in 1983. Dokken and music like this was my world. 94.7 KMET played all the best songs. Seeing this video again brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes. The 80's, KMET and great music like this have slipped into history. But it is ALWAYS fun to reminisce about the lifestyle I was blessed with back then. Thanks Rhino Records for the upload!
My cousins and I always talk about how awesome it would’ve been to have been 17-18 years old in 1983-1984. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@tjohnson3880 Some people were lucky to have experienced that
I also turned 18 in 1983. I agree with you. They were the best concerts back then and are the best memories today. I saw Dokken in the 80s when they opened for AC / DC. I get goose bumps when I watch the videos.
Me too - 18 in 1983. Where’d all that time go??
@@jwcjrcpa Time flew past so quickly. It indeed is fleeting.....
When I listen to so many of these songs that I took for granted through the eighties, it just blowes me away how good they were. They still hold up,and my kids love it..... Long live the music from the eighties!
@LordHolley, you always wanted someone to dedicate a song for you! I did it a couple of them for you! Still loving you! My name is Lewis (no name) Robert Burton Jr!

But more importantly, let it INSPIRE you to pick up a guitar and crank it up several notches!
Now that the 80's generation is in our 50's, we're going to need some fresh metal soon to rock out to in our rocking chairs, lol!

I'm 22 and I love the 80s style, music and everything.
Dokken had a huge fan base then, and still now. This was an awesome music video that the band allowed fans to participate their individual parts for the video. You don't see this type of love or cooperative effort with today's so called music artists.
Yeah you do lol
@Joe Kinchicken what about low budget videos of well known Australian reggae bands
Not a metal band but check out Ben Rector's video for the song "Brand New" he flew 4 or 5 fans to Texas, gave them cameras and took then to Six Flags to film the video. Pretty cool.
I often get asked if I know of the band.
That lead guitar playing at the very end is legendary.... it don't get any better than that feel....
George Lynch?
GREAT SONG , GREAT VIDEO, AND GEORGE LYNCH IS DEFINATELY IN THE TOP 10 BEST GUITARISTS OF ALL TIME >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> : )
Wish I could go back to these days when life was fun all the time .
One of the most unappreciated bands of the 80s.
Isn't that the truth, favorite late 70s/ early 80s band.
I always play dokken to my kids they love George linch an don dokkens screams :)
I remember them being one of the more popular bands among metal-heads. Everybody loved Dokken.
Dokken was very popular back in the day. Probably about as popular as iron maiden or def leopard
"Unappreciated"?!?
Dude, what are you talking about?
Dokken was VERY appreciated in the 80's and when I saw them in Charlotte NC at Amos's Southend several years back, they drew a bigger crowd than Black Label Society! They were DANGEROUSLY close to fire capacity!!
The 80's were the greatest...... from Grade school 7 -8th grade to high school to graduation at college in 1990! Best times ever!
EXACTLY!! Only my college graduation was in 1989!! 😎🙏
Yep. Seeing all those people having a good time on the streets, obviously not actors, reminded of how much fun everyone was having! I miss it all the time😢
The '80s were the best decade in the history of the world

The 70s were better. Better music for sure.
Lifes what you make it.
Oldsmobile, tower records, no cell phones or idiot drivers, much better times
Dokken rocks. Beast of the East was the best. Don Dokken sounds amazing live and had great stage presence. Remember having a crush on George Lynch. Very handsome. Looked like my ex-fiance. I still don't know this songs meaning though. Miss this band and Winger. Miss the 80's. I still think George Lynch was underrated..
Probably one of the most underrated 80s bands.
In 1985, I was 15 years old and had just started my hair guitar journey. I had some serious gunslingers to inspire my daily marathon practice sessions. 30 years later, I still play a Kramer Baretta, Jackson Soloist, a spalted maple BC Rich Mockingbird, a black Washburn A20, Carlos Cavazo's Metal Health guitar, and a cherry Burst Les Paul through a 50w Marshall JCM800 head and 1960a cab. I just can't get away from the 80s.
Right there with ya.
Still got my Kramer Striker 100ST and Dean Flying V.
🤟🤟🤟
These boys can jam
God I loved the 80's!!!!
And really miss them!!!

What an era! Makes me sad to see it gone. You have no idea if you did not live it.
Gorgeous Kenworth!!!!
Saw them in 1987 with Aerosmith. This band was so underrated. They were great live, and Lynch just shredded that night. There are very few bands today that can hang with the music we grew up on. I feel blessed to have witnessed that era.
Me too. I was there to see Lynch. Left after Dokken was done.
Me too... (better without the hashtag!) Oct 87!
AMEN Brother! I saw 'em live in NC summer of '87...opening for Aerosmith too! Both bands killed it...Dokken was touring their Back for the Attack album. Great times Great memories...was dating my future wife at that show...got married in 88...still together to this day...and we're still ROCKIN to Dokken too!
I was at Capital Center for that tour. George came out to fucked up to play huge let down for me
Aerosmith closed for Dokken on that tour
80'd rock can't be touched. From A to Z it was .the best.

My favorite Dokken song. The dialogue in the middle and George Lynch's riffs..........made a 18 year old fan back in 1984.
George Lynch is such a bad ass guitar player-these tunes are great anyway but his playing makes them even better.
Love Dokken, they're my favorite '80's metal band. They couldn't make a video like this today, not one of them has a safety harness on, there's not even anything behind the drummer either to keep him from falling backwards off the truck.
Best era of the world in my opinion wish I could have been there to witness the greatness of the 80s
It's beyond hard rock . it's classic and eternal as Led zep .

This was as GOOD as 80's heavy metal got period. Dokken's "Tooth & Nail" 1984 was my favorite but i loved everything this group ever did period being that they are my favorite 80's heavy metal band alongside "Helix". This video was awesome !!!!!!!

without people getting killed? heroin usage was through the roof!
Murder rate was insane in the 80's. I came of age in the late 80's and loved it but part it's magic was that edgy aspect, crime, racism, drugs, there was a lot broken but the cold war was ending and like the 60's everyone knew it.
