Michael Carvin has given me the road map to positivity influence my career as a leader as well as enlightening me on how to improve areas of my playing that would have taken me years to figure out on my own. I’ve been playing for 30 years and have students of my own but I still learn something from our discussions every time we meet. Whether it’s about life, drums, music or business Mr. Carvin adds something to your life that even transcends his lessons about our beloved instrument, the drums.
I totally relate to your post. I was fortunate to have studied with michael in the mid 90's . Thru his mentoring , I became a better man and drummer. peace
There are drummers and then there are artists. Mr Csrvin is definitely in the the latter category. This was a beautiful musical Journey and his dynamics and creativity are really something to behold!
Just came upon this - I never heard of this man. My loss, now gained. I'm floored. I looked him up to ensure he was still among the living and he is - thank the Cosmos..
Wow, I own that EXACT same 1969 Gretsch RB 18" bop kit in rare factory walnut finish... with the matching snare drum. My kit has no extra holes or mods and in near original condition.
That’s great. I have a 18,12,14 round badge kit in Tangerine soarkle with the matching snare and a extra 20” bass drum and 13 “ Tom no extra holes either. Also a 1970-71 Gretsch stop sign kit in black Diamond Pearl same sizes 18,12,1,4 and matching snare. Plus a 1977 kit in yellow lacquer same sizes.I got these drums since I loved Art Blakey, Max, Tony, etc but somehow I don’t sound like them!😩 It must be something wrong with the drum sets!😁 Take care of your kit.
