- I absolutely love this tune, and thought I'd try for a solo performance on the Pomeroy mandola. I'm not sure I did it justice. In the end I decided to use this solo mandola recording to build a fuller arrangement with some other instruments. Here's a link to that recording if you're interested: • La Sansonette

It's a fine tune, Colin, and works perfectly on the mandola. Your phrasing, tone and tempo were spot on.
Thanks so much, glad you liked it. This really is a fantastic tune! So fun to play!
Is this a Breton tune?
Well played - I enjoyed listening. :-)
Thanks so much! It certainly has a bit of that Breton sound, but it was actually composed by Dominique Forges. Cheers!
Great playing! I haven't played this tune in way too long, it's a good one.
Thanks Ben, glad you enjoyed it! It really is a marvelous tune!
This is pretty cool! It reminds me of the band Nickel Creek
Thanks for the compliment! Cheers!
Incredible tune and playing. That mandola rocks. Is that a Breton tune?
It sure sounds like it could be. Apparently it was composed by Dominique Forges, a French hurdy-gurdy player. Cheers!
@@colinbotts Not Breton - more like Central France, I think. The title means 'The Starling'.
Very nicely played!
Very nice and very clean. Did you learn this from the sheet music? How is it tuned? Thank you.
Glad you liked it, thanks for listening! It's my own arrangement, so no sheet music, sorry. Tuning is CGDA. Cheers!
