Ryan Hall is probably my favorite BJJ tutorial instructor. Smart, hilarious, mercilessly efficient. Love it. Good job Seth also! I would love to see a MMA/BJJ basics class with self defense applications
Best teacher EVER. He knows how to explain concepts instead of just "Put your arm here, and pull and boom choke him" then when u go to try it ur like ehhhh wtf...
We'll do one variation at our school that works well. I won't get into all the details, but before executing the move, we'll pin the opponents head between our legs. It makes any escape more difficult. Since we have both arms in kimura position, even if he's holding his gi, or other arm, using your bodyweight, you can push down with your chest onto his arm to tear his arm away from his gi or other arm, then pull the arm up and secure to your own chest, then apply torque for the submission. ... But yeah, I enjoyed the great commentary, and Ryan can be funny.
close your elbow please I can't okay so straightening out your arm got you out of trouble didn't it no what do you mean i thought you got out of the keylock I did LOL idk i found that so funny
I love his sense of humor I found this whole video pretty funny but also very insightful I understood his point without him having to do a long explanation like other teachers do
@Hudson Hawk6 Yeah I agree now that I think about it. This is also a trademark of some high I.Q people. I would not stick around for a class where I was made to feeel my questions were dumb.
@@WolframtheBlessed3499 Grow a pair. You don't have to take it so personally. Clearly you focus more how people react or respond to your questions rather than focusing on the answer or solutions you are receiving. Let me guess.. You would also not stick around if you keep getting subed all the time. Well then... BJJ is clearly not for you... You need to embrace the suck, grind and learning curve of BJJ
I noticed that hold the wrist a little higher almost to the forearm when doing the Kimura, I have problems locking the kimura grip against bigger opponents with long arms, is this a fix to lock the kimura? Thanks 🙏
Your dry humorous approach is great. You're a very effective teacher. Well done. Great detail.
10/10 dialogue in this video

"Unless you're strong enough to push my arm through my chest, in which case I have much bigger problems" - LOL!!
Ryan is very funny sometimes.

has anybody else noticed that Ryan Hall just might have a high I.Q.?
If I read right he has a electrical engineering degree
@@belatorius3442 Think he dropped out when he fell in love with jiujitsu but his brain is definitely one of an engineer.
@@OldManNutcakez when did he start jiu jitsu? I mean did he start jiu jitsu in his college days?
