The excitement showed on both of you at the beginning of the Video. It should as you are back on native soil. The canal was a special treat and the ice cream at the end was a welcome home reward. Enjoy

While not all the way home, it’s a good feeling returning to our own country.😊 We enjoyed the Chambly Canal and the Parks Canada staff were outstanding. Thanks so much for watching Buck!😎

Thanks Patrick! First time for us on this canal and it was an enjoyable experience! The weather that day in May was great and so many people out walking, biking along the canal. The Parks Canada staff were so welcoming and we loved the town of Chambly. As always thanks for watching 😎

I live in Chambly and just found your video. It was very enjoyable, you took some good shots of Chambly. Living in Chambly, we take it for granted, but you have shown that it is really quite a nice place to live. I will have to find the rest of your videos.

Chambly is a lovely, quaint town and we enjoyed our visit there. It’s definitely unique to arrive by boat! Thanks so much for watching Wendi.😎

Good morning to you both! We have enjoyed watching your journey and appreciate you sharing it with us. How wonderful you are back home, safely! We have learned so much from you both. We are approaching our sail date to begin the great loop with our dog Odie, and our cat Willie. I have been trying to locate where I can purchase sheets for our boat. I don't know if I am typing in the wrong words or what my issue might be, but I can't find a place to purchase them. May I ask where you get yours? Thank you in advance for your help. Congratulations on arriving home! Exciting day for you - as exciting as the first day!

Hello Shagarmi and thanks very much for following our Great Loop adventure! And we’re excited to share the rest of our journey along the Richelieu River, St Lawrence River, Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal, so stay tuned for more episodes before we complete our loop. 😎
For the unusual shaped island birth in the front cabin, I simply sewed a fitted sheet. It's not the easiest thing to do but you could make a template out of paper and then either sew it yourself or have a seamstress do it for you. It seems that many aspects of outfitting a boat are custom and not easy to buy "off-the-shelf" products. Hope this helps!

That was wonderful. What a "cute" waterway. We will be transiting the Richelieu/Chambly system in the other direction next summer! Thank you for your narration Rachel.

The Chambly canal appeared to be an unusual and charming trip; it seemed very European in ambience . Your photography is excellent. Thank you for your perspectives.

Hi Robert, glad you appreciate the photography and point of view.😊 The Chambly Canal was charming with small chambers and welcoming Parks Canada staff. That day in May was sunny and warm with lots of people enjoying being outside, walking and biking. Thanks for watching!😎

Thank you so much for following our journey! We appreciate it!😎

This video brought back distant memories cruising the Chambly canal as a young boy (along with my three sisters) in my Dad's 26' wooden boat that we kept in Montreal. Nothing much has really changed except for the automated bridges, newer houses and the style of the boats. It's always nice to cross the border back into Canada. Thanks for continuing to share your trip. It is appreciated. We are off to Sydney, Australia in a week or so to visit grand kids so I'll be watching your adventures from there.

      Hi Gary,
Thanks for sharing a bit of your history along the Chambly Canal. It’s neat to think it is mostly the same today. Our American friends on our buddy boat commented on the number of people along the canal who were out walking and biking, enjoying the outdoors. It certainly feels good being back in our beloved Canada. Safe travels to Sydney… enjoy!! As always thanks for watching!😎

“Burden Laid Down” what a hauntingly beautiful piece of music. Our son has an MS degree in trombone performance, and when I heard this tune, it reminded me of the School’s trombone choir that practiced every Sunday night. Sometimes we were permitted to sit in and listen. Your travels appear to be coming to an end shortly and we will miss watching your adventures - but all good things come to an end and it is good to be home again. Perhaps you will find more adventures in the future to share with us. Best of luck to both of you.

And thank you for documenting your Journey. Everything I've watched has been very enjoyable. So what's next? Any plans for a New Journey?
Maybe a trip through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and out and then down the East Coast?

You guys are living the life, enjoying it and best of all - sharing it with all of us. Excellent. You guys will love the Rideau - IF you have not done it before, then you already know that!! We spent 4 days in the first week of June on it. Hopefully, you got to stay at Colonel Bye Island. nice dock and great facilities up behind the house.

The Rideau Canal is probably our favourite waterway and we know it well so it is fitting to complete our loop along this route. We definitely stayed at Colonel By Island and many more wonderful stops!😎

Say it isn't so! You are actually selling "Stay Cool?" WHY? The Great Loop isn't the only great adventure for boaters. There is the Northeast Circle. For You, the starting point would be Quebec. Cruise East on the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Canadian Maritimes. Across to Maine and harbor hopping down the New England Coast, stopping at Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Long Island Sound to the Hudson River and return to Quebec via the route you just completed. Your videos have been so well presented with very informative narratives it is a shame if your efforts should end without that secondary, lesser travelled, but equally beautiful and interesting Northeast Circle.

    • @staycool123
      @staycool123  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi John and thanks for your message. The Down East Loop is an interesting option for some boaters. Perhaps you haven’t read some of the other comments, but we reside in beautiful British Columbia where we plan to do some travelling and boating. Fear not! We hope to share our next adventures in the Pacific Northwest with you. In the meantime, we will continue to share the rest of our Great Loop along the Richelieu River, St Lawrence River, Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal. Thanks for following our journey!😎
