I have that with most bluetooth things. I set some BT up on a projector once and found at about 3 hours the latency difference was so bad it looked like bad lip reading, or audio dubbing.
Hi, I just dropped by and see your video, a very nice one. Not sure if you are still using it. I'm thinking of buying one. I don't know if I can play music via TRS/RCA and Bluetooth at the same time? I want to use Bluetooth as the backing track source for my guitar. And have you seen any difference in volume between those audio sources?
A mixer is maybe what you're looking for to accompany this. My Rodecaster mixer (for example) can take source from BT as well as other sources and the speakers are just the monitor output for it. There are plenty of portable/affordable mixers that can achieve this, they don't have to be expensive but my experience with what you're describing is had on the Rodecaster Pro. So: You, Guitar, Bluetooth music, Whatever else -->in to mixer ---> Mixer out to speakers (to achieve "at the same time").

Thank you for this video. I'm guessing you no longer have these JBL speakers. Can you remember whether they made a kind of loud thumping sound when switched on even though the volume was at minimum ?
I do still have them, but the sound you’re describing (I assume you are plugged to a PC), when they power on it’s a mid ranged slap sound? That’s turn on pop. An external source is recommended - it happens when caps in the built in amp go 0-50% and cause a pop sound on power up. If you run them through a small external amp/mixer/step this may mitigate the effect. Overtime at high volumes the pop can be bad but it plagues most DC non passive speakers.

Sound is completely subjective (its like art, unless its just horrible, its opinionated pickyness at best). I never stop being confused about certain opinions. The only truth is some companies have learned how to impress upon the broader ranges of acceptable. I listen closely for things that prickle me but they may not be things that prickle you. In a studio setting tweaking location matters to audiophile professionals (think atmos, atmos requires placement, timing, and tuning to replicate environmental feels). In a studio a certain height, a certain volume, and the environment of the speakers can effect the sound for the person editing/listening to. In my bedroom I am not concerned with this and I just want good decent sound. You can always adjust them to see if you can tell a difference once you have them. I don't know if that helps, hope it kind of does at least. A studio aficionado may be able to jump in and offer perspective.
Hello, I have also purchased it. It's amazing indeed. I am facing an issue. What will be the TRS connector jack? Firstly I connedted with speaker with my focusrite 2i2 2nd gen sound interface with all mono jack. But sound was very low. Then i have connected it with all stereo jacks. In this case sound has increased but not upto the mark like AUX, RCA and Bluetooth connection. It's very low volume compared to these connections. Actually, I am confused what is the actual condition? I will be glad if you clarify please. I use is for my music production. Thank you.
This may feel obvious - and maybe you have already checked. Is the volume up on the speakers - and then adjusted from the 2i2? Or is vol low on the speakers and you are trying to max it out on the 2i2? Turn vol up on speakers as well as 2i2 (or is this the current issue, that both are turned up and volume is still low?)
Audio is, and always will be a polarizing subjective thing - To me, they are good (in a small space) multimedia speakers. I used them for a long time as my bedroom speakers as well as on a mobile work editing setup (now my pops uses them with his turntable). For the money I'd probably point a friend at Audio Engine A2+s for a more rounded sound experience, and for a heavier unique low profile sound I like Edifier E25s, both are smaller (slightly), and both I have used for a long time. You're money may be better spent on active non-reference bookshelf solutions, but it entirely depends on 'what in sound' appeals to you. Reference monitors top out flat on the higher dB range with the purist intent for editing (this is the often "muddy" sound people mention). They also (in my opinion) serve as decent multi-purpose entertainment speakers.
It’s always good practice to turn off your speakers so I would feel bad saying it’s fine for the super user chastising folk out there. That being said I leave mine on all of the time and let them go in to standby mode and I personally have no issues with that.
If I wanted to just use these as speakers for a gaming monitor that has a 3.5mm input out on it, could I just connect the monitor to these using a basic 3.5mm jack?
So there are manual steps of volume on the speaker. If I am set 50% on the speaker - my max vol adjusts to the max level of 50% when turned up to 100% on the Bluetooth app (like Pandora). It considers the manual 50% of the speaker to be 100% of the volume. If I want to control the full range via my phone - the speaker needs to be at 100% and then when you adjust you have the full vol range.
They come with speaker wire to connect them together if thats what you are asking. The speakers are not independent of each other. The master (with the power switch/buttons/knob) is the primary and it transmits to the secondary speaker.
The left and right channels are split, stereo signals will play stereo over them via BT5 (master receives it and delegates the appropriate channel) so long as the source signal is stereo. If you play a mono sound you will get a mono sound simultaneously from both. Good question 😊
Hey do you think this are good enough for a home studio for house music? the bass its enough for that? and idk if you know the JBL C1 Pro but if you do which one do you recommend this one or the C1 Pro?

These are two different types of speakers in how I view it. Reference speakers (while okay in my book) aren't the general favorites for consuming music on the average day to day. You should be able to add a sub-woofer to this, and it would be a nice idea because it will round-out the lack of full bass that these smaller speakers will suffer from. There is a video out on TH-cam on how to connect sub-woofer.
I bought a pair of these and while they sound good Ive found the lag time between what you do on an iPAD in an audio application (EG: nanostudio 2) and when the sound comes out of the monitors is unacceptable for production purposes. If you are an iPAD producer DO NOT buy these. Instead buy the cheaper 104s without bluetooth and just use a cable into the aux input.
I read this when you posted and turned mine on, my master is still relatively cool. Not even warm to the touch. I’m not maxed out or anything just standard constant use. What are you doing when it gets hot?
Any feedback appreciated, so I like to mix drum and bass on my decks as a hobby and for after party’s in my flat at my uni, I have some crappy speakers atm and we’re wondering how good these would be for that? Obviously not gunna be the best at Max volume but for mixing in a small room/kitchen are these worth it?
If you're looking for small affordable 'true' reference monitors, these are it. Now I'm not a sound engineer but I do enjoy/appreciate my main audio daily drivers from my Edifiers to my Audioengine, to my Sonos and so on...Now the BT model and the non-BT models are basically the same speakers/drivers just one has BT and a higher price tag - so if you're looking to save get the non-BT ones. Audio is subjective but these have a pretty awesome range from low to high and offer a good raw sound stage to work with.
I concur with this review. If there were a way to change the physical volume of the treble, I think it would do wonders for the 'tinny' sound. The highs are crisp, just too loud. Fun fact -- Joe Exotic's zoo is about 3 hours SW of me. Us Okies are so proud to have him represent our state nationally. Hell, globally. He's like what you would get from a high-speed car crash if Beth was sitting on Dog's lap when it happened.
You need to "A-B" some music that uses ACTUAL instruments, not that soulless electronic stuff. Use the remastered Kinks album "Lola vs Powerman", or some remastered Beatles.
Well, copyright issues are the biggest obstacles there. But I don’t disagree. Maybe in the future I try and find some more orchestral stuff that won’t end with me on a litigious defense. 😊
I just bought these and returned them the next day, never done that before. They are very inefficient at 87dB, had to crank my computer or my phone sound way up, then turn the speakers volume up to 80% plus. They sound good but I don't want anything you need to run that high. Big disappointment, might be ok if your head is in a 3' triangle with speakers. For $209. + Tax I'm sure I can find something much better sounding.
The low 70 to mid 80 dB range is a pretty standard area for reference audio mainly because what we hear as loud in this range is pretty flat - it helps us detect mids, highs and lows and apply "what you want" to adjust for. - I totally get they aren't for everyone. They can have a muddy sound near the top volume (this is the flatness), and for general entertainment purposes may not satiate everyone not looking solely for reference monitors on the louder side. So what you say makes sense, but I hope that also makes sense. I'm not a big audio snob, but I also don't edit finite musical details - some decent non-reference speakers do the job well in my book (I'm partial to the Audio Engine A2+s, and if you want something a little more standalone low end the E25's I have a different kind of love for).
If you are not using a subwoofer with these, then keep the volume knob at 3 o clock position to reduce distortion.
Thank you so much for comparing the jbl with the audioengine a2+ I was literally deciding which of the two I should get and I'm sold on the JBL!
Glad I could help!

But man, actually you can used the aux input. Just use a cable rca to jack 3.5 in the ipad and thats all
I don’t tested but i have a trs cable to jack 3.5mm i suppouse that this should work too
Try both and tell me if you are ok
hugo sanches you just answered my question without asking it. Thanks
For real man way to be on top of it all. Thanks for being helpful!
The master monitor is a bit hot when using. Is it normal?
I read this when you posted and turned mine on, my master is still relatively cool. Not even warm to the touch. I’m not maxed out or anything just standard constant use.
What are you doing when it gets hot?
@@EightSixMatt Probably, an hour or two of continuous playing of music. Heat is around the upper right side of master.
Nico Bien I’ll keep an eye on it with mine too. On the upper right side it’s warm to the touch but not like hot. Barely warm on mine.
@@EightSixMatt Thanks
But is it Joe Exotics zoo still?? 😂
“Carole fuckin Baskins!”
@@EightSixMatt -- LMAO!
@@EightSixMatt -- He's not listed on the website so, dunno?

this or jbl nano k4 ?
Haven't used the K series before so I can't give you a personal comparison opinion sorry :(
Can I connect sub for it
Are you using it with a receiver or mixer setup?
@@EightSixMatt any recommendations?
I disagree. It sound muddy and muffled. Big disappointment. Dumb speaker
