Good idea with the paint on the ground, I usually don’t install the new point if that row has a fault, looks like the bourgault bar has better access than our C2
I like the number options on the joystick. We demo’d a 580 and 620 quad last year in the fall in the USA, and I set the numbers to radio functions. Way more customizable than the Deere iTec system I feel, option wise.
Hi i work on a lot off drill bars i see you have a-lot of side to side play om your openers if you leave it to long it will become an expensive fix its a lot off work to change the bushings but its worth it, also an air hammer works way faster to change the point .awesome video you explain everything very good .
Do you find you get better results from changing all the points at once? We just change them as needed which works for us, I'm guessing you get more even wear in your set up maybe. And they are all close to doing in the first place.
Yes, we change out points at the start of the season and can do a whole season on the points. If we were to leave it and change them when they were right at the end of their life it would cost us to much time to in the paddock stopped changing them and also could cause damage to the boots if they aren't caught at the right time. We find it best to change them all at once.
It was explained to us that it’s a safe guard for the fans, I think if anything happens it opens the circuit to not damage the motors, but once you select it you won’t have to do it again, it’ll stay selected
Yes that’s correct, you have to float the remote you want to select for motor mode, and then every time starting the tractor the selected remotes in motor mode have to be floated to have it function
Its design is to side row band your seed. We have it switched the other way though as with out dry years all the water goes to the bottom of the furrow and the crop wasn't germinating. So now we have seed go to the bottom and urea comes out the side. Its designed to get you seed/fert separation
@@tomsbrookfarm oh awesome thanks for that. My brothers got dbs and I think it puts the fert lower than the seed. I’ve just never seen your style of point before. Does it put a lot of side load on the shanks.
@@joneckert8797 Yer we are doing it the wrong way around haha. Should be fert bottom and seed to the side. No we dont notice any extra loading due to the side banding shank
Dunno about having it up , all us farmers seem work on the ground with safety locks in , common practice , at least we aren’t doing it in snow like Mike Mitchell’s mob 🌾👍

Interesting how Henry's dog Dexter has now become your dog.
Not ideal having a dog with ya when ya out spraying.
Only because Henry can't take him in the boom with him any more. He doesn't like to be alone so just follows me around all day.
Good moisture on your points JH, you would be keen as to get into it , all the best for the new season 🌾👍
Thanks 👍

Thanks, we actually changed the bushes at the end of 22 season. They do have a bit of movement in them but that is just normal play for this bar.
Does that mean George is on his way back for seeding again think Dexter has claimed you as his owner now John he is always by your side😂
Dexter is only by my side all the time cause Henry can't take him in the boom anymore! He doesn't like to be along haha
Hey, you have a flat tyre on the bar, I love how the doggo follows you in the Timelapse and sleeps haha cheers 👍
I like how Dexter was always a few points ahead
Great video JH
Good luck changing your points JH
I see your wing safety pin is a little bent, somebody was naughty

Hey ,you need to modify a lay down trolley for outdoor use for doing points
Now that would be ideal!
should have a "motor run" function with case so when you go to neutral the hydralic switch it automatically floats.
Good luck spraying Henry
Better get Dexter to change the points next time. He has see how it is done!!
Bit of a flat tyre by the looks of it on the back of the bar near the first point you hit with the grinder :D
Cheers! Its on our list to change!
Hey mate if you haven’t already, on your screen in the hydraulic page you want to select motor mode on your fans
No I had forgotten about that. Why is it I need to put it on motor mode again?
Ash did explain it but not sure it made sense 😂
It was explained to us that it’s a safe guard for the fans, I think if anything happens it opens the circuit to not damage the motors, but once you select it you won’t have to do it again, it’ll stay selected
Remote had to be in float before motor mode would select on our new magnum

I noticed the points only have a wing on one side, just wondering why is that? Awesome videos as always 👍👍👍

and don't forget to check all your tyre pressures. 🤭
Dexter could have offered to be your head rest.
That’s not a hammer it’s a toy hope you get enough of rain cheers from Bundaberg
is George coming back?
You seem to need at least a 4lb hammer. Nome of this tappy tappy business
😂😂
Why do you do it on the ground and not fold the wings up slowly and do it standing up except for the centre section
I would want to be under an unsupported wing.
Way way way to dangerous to do that. Not safe work practice! Also the tynes would still be to high to reach
Why not just support the wings, just lift wings to a nice working height not right up to right angles . Rather than crawl around on the ground.
Dunno about having it up , all us farmers seem work on the ground with safety locks in , common practice , at least we aren’t doing it in snow like Mike Mitchell’s mob 🌾👍
Even having something supporting it can be as dangerous if the support slips you're gone
Mo coming back?
You need a bigger hammer , that thing is for toffee
Need roll pin punch’s very handy
Should put it on the town list!
You have a flat I tried telling you but mustn't of heard me through the screen
Haha yer its on the list to change!!
