Paige is clearly a very bright girl and she is probably so familiar with that crossing that even she forgot to Stop, Look and Listen. This piece should be shown in every school in the British Isles.
Not that bright if she almost got herself hit by a train
@Epic Arwarawrawrawr No excuse
@@kyleJohn1997 hardly an excuse though is it. Humans are humans and they make mistakes sometimes.
She's extremely lucky that this incident didn't cost her life tbh.
@@kyleJohn1997 bro like you dont make any mistake.
@Epic Arwarawrawrawr cant make mistakes with trains
Huge respect for Paige for being able to talk so maturely about what was doubtless a very scary incident!
Thank goodness it ended well
It's up to you as a parent. Nobody else.
My name is Paige I’m 9 and I love trains! I clicked on this video because my name is Paige and I love trains!
I hope Paige is doing well and she will never forget this :)
Oh goodness. Shows that EVERY level crossing is safe, but it’s the people that use it that cause the issues. Misuse, near misses, broken barriers and more
That's why there having MSLs
I would expect there is a whistle from the train approaching the crossing. She didn't mention that she heard the train coming, only that she saw it at the last minute. Glad there was a happy ending.
It is not the Steam Era, a Horn yes
I'm Paige is alright and she is a very lucky girl.
I am seeing this from Ireland 🇮🇪
Omg when l was at school we learned to stop look & listen . Why is the education system so slow
Praise God Paige is okay and survived without any injury! I'm so thankful that she, her dad and family, her friends and the train conductor, none of them had to be traumatized by a tragedy that day. So so so glad she is okay! And able to bravely return!
I remember when I had a near miss while waiting at the train station I young & dumb standing on the yellow line distracted by a freight when the California zephyr arrived the engine was so quiet I didn't hear it coming till I heard the horn & then I panicked & ran off. Afterwards I got on the California zephyr & rode it to Chicago. A ride I enjoyed & I hope to someday ride Amtrak again even if I have no particular place to go. But also having grown up w/in 700ft of a mainline I have learned to respect the trains & the RR but I have seen people do dangerous things on virtual railfan...
I am so sorry for Paige Kelly over this. This must be her living nightmare.
They really oughta put some warning signals at the tracks. A sign reminding you to look both ways is good, but a flashing light with a high pitch sound would be better.
I remember when my mum and I were walking with her friend who was with her daughter. My mum’s friend’s daughter jumped over every gate and nearly jumped over the level crossing) gate. She didn’t but she got a very stern telling off after what she was about to do.
Just take care. The Cambrian Coast line is hardly a high speed mainline. It’s common sense to simply look left and right before crossing. Anyone who fails to do this is asking for trouble.
Since they seem to be so close to a road level crossing, would it not be too hard to get a siren and red light that links up to that, as an extra precaution? Obviously its best if all stop, look and listen but some people will still forget. That could also allow blind/partially sighted people to use the crossing..
Build more footbridges.
Would have been interesting to see the forward facing on-board CCTV footage of the near miss.
I forgot to look crossing road on estate forgot to look lucky the car driver stopped I was about same age as the girl
And it was in 1959 ish no crumple zone for safety just a hard steel bumper/fender in USA
I told you to STOP LOOK LISTEN!
We need warning lights at every level crossing. Even the ones that have red to stop and green to go
Warning lights encourage drivers in the us, Norfolk Southern is bad enough, combine trains wanting to be off the tracks and cars wanting to be on the tracks, things end bad
DANGER! Ignorance kills!
Don’t think she is ignorant just a forgetful little girl not a idiot like some videos you see
😮😢 where where where? What womp womp?
if any one likes the train its a the class 158 in tfw livery
Idd never let my guard down, im severely avare of danger, i couldnt just hop under a level crossing, i know how bloody long it takes till the train stopps
Stop, look and listen out for Trains before crossing.
Think she knew
liked video
👍
KEEP OFF THE TRACKS!
Whos fault is all this not the train drivers that's for sure and it's not network rails either
I suppose that it would be an inconvenience but couldn't these trains give of a horn at these crossings? Let's hear the arguments against it....could it be money...or a death.
Hopefully her parents will remind her that level crossings can be dangerous otherwise it could cost her her life.
From the video, the driver gave a blast on the horn as a warning as per the rule book. The girl did the right thing, once she'd realised her mistake, and 'took cover'. That is why it was a 'near miss' and nothing worse.
British Transport Police.
“Safely” get to school
She sure didn’t do it safely
Teach children common sence, kids dont know self-preservation -_-
Teach children spelling as well. Then when they grow up, they can spell a word like sense correctly!
@SpeccyMan spelling ain't guna have me killed pal, doing something as daft as standing in front of a train is just purely stupid. Would you stand in front of a missile if it was charging towards ya? Probably not soo why not the normal 450t of train that travels around 90/100mph [yes I know this crossing won't have this but still]. :D
@@class_31clagi think she gets the point without you glorifying a train hitting a child. that's the point of the video since you aren't capable of paying attention.
The railways are no place for playing on the tracks or deliberately crossing the railway tracks if a train is coming. At least she has learnt her lesson.
When she Grows up and maybe has Kids she can tell them about the Day she nearly went SPLAT!!!!
Frankly her "stepdad" doesn't sound the sharpest knife in the block.
.
that's not really productive is it
@@FarmYardGaming No? you don't think parents should take responsibilty?
well duh?
Its common sense , some of these young have nothing between the ears.
Man shut your goofy ah up
ill its fair to say that the number of trains on that section of line only run every 2 hours the railways i live near have trains running much faster and at around 5 to 10 minute intervals
