    As a cutting edge company built on three divisions: Hyperion Energy, Hyperion Motors, and Hyperion Aerospace - all focused on hydrogen-based power and delivery, when announcing the launch of a vehicle, one would expect the type of energy which would fuel it, what the market did not expect was the type of vehicle.
    Although recently heated, the market for cars with electric powertrain (both hydrogen cell-based and battery-based) does not have many great representatives among supercars capable of reaching 200 mph+ figures. Nevertheless, concepts such as the one proposed by Hyperion show a new path for this niche and outline the formation of a new market, with new and hitherto intangible weight, acceleration and cornering speed numbers.
    The 10-year-old project now emerges from its latency in the thinking heads of Hyperion engineers to reveal the possibilities of the hydrogen-powered world. The Hyperion XP-1 model will feature all-wheel drive, three-speed automatic transmission, with a 0 to 62 mph sprint of just two seconds, plus its top speed of 217 mph.
    Please keep doing what you're doing Hyperion!

    Now this I will support for the future car instead of EV that isn’t safe or environmental friendly.
    I would love to buy this.

    It seems doubtful this is the future of cars. If the UK example is any indication, the Shell Oil Company shut down its three hydrogen fueling stations because of their lack of use. People in general had no interest in buying existing hydrogen production cars (Toyota Mirai and the Hyundai Nexo) because of their high cost, and the cost of hydrogen fuel wasn't more advantageous than gas or diesel. It cost $2.3M to operate the three hydrogen stations for a year and each hydrogen station cost millions to build. The lack of hydrogen fueling stations most likely played a part in the reluctance to buy hydrogen cars as well, only 14 in the UK before Shell shut theirs down. A comparable EV price is much cheaper by comparison, operating cost are lower and there are over 36,000 charging stations available in the UK.

      @automotivehub  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you remember, the cost of EV was extremely high… Opel Ampera’s price was enormous, the charging infrastructure was non existent.. but then came along Tesla which gave the EV industry the push it needed. We have a few hydrogen cars now, but if Hyperion gives the “Tesla push” to the industry, it can see the same exponential growth in a few years, which would lead to more investments, more research, cheaper hydrogen stations etc. Only time will tell..

    • @TheAeroegg
      @TheAeroegg ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@automotivehub I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is infrastructure. From the information I can find a hydrogen fuel stations is about $2M and up, plus the cost of maintaining them is high. One public level 3 charging station costs anywhere from $14K to $90K and maintenance costs are probably very low, and of course thousands and thousands of them already exist. Moreover, billions upon billions of people have the capability to charge at home, it just takes a charging cord that costs as low as $200. As an engineer myself, I just don't see how it's possible to get hydrogen to be an economical fuel source for passenger vehicles. Much of the information I've read suggests that hydrogen power might be better suited for larger commercial transportation like semis, buses, trains, ships, and perhaps airplanes.

      Who knows what breakthroughs we’ll have in 10 years from now.. until then we can only dream for this “little” hypercar 😀

    • @FlyWithTyy
      @FlyWithTyy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but what about 2030 or maybe 2035 when infrastructure is in place much more and the cost to produce hydrogen comes down to $1.50-$2.00. Wouldn’t gas prices continue to rise whilst hydrogen prices would simply be cheaper?

    • @FlyWithTyy
      @FlyWithTyy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think another issue for hydrogen is the fact that we “U.S.” only produce approximately 20% of our energy through wind and solar. So for green hydrogen we would need much more.

  • @Focus_20SF
    @Focus_20SF ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Only water will work with extreme efficient electrolysis because everyone can just recharge their bevs at home. Can you do this with hydrogen? No. Can we make hydrogen lawnmowers and or weed wackers? probably not.

    • @automotivehub
      @automotivehub  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, not for the moment, who knows. The first EVs were created like 40-50 years ago, and they were pretty obsolete until the tesla, or ampera etc.

  • @701983

    Is this the future of cars?
    No, certainly not.
    Future cars should be affordable and not dependent on expensive hydrogen fuel.

    • @automotivehub
      @automotivehub  ปีที่แล้ว

      There weren’t a lot of people who could afford an EV when they came out. Regarding the hydrogen, the technology is already advancing at a really fast pace, so we ll see…
