    It still amazes me they stay on the tracks. Great angle on this video.

    Interesting to hear the gear lash/noise as the load changes so rapidly over the undulating trackage.

    Very hypnotic, presumably there is an air spring above, as the vehicle itself is as steady as a rock.

    • @nsmodeler24
      @nsmodeler24 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thats only an illusions since the camera is mounted to the frame of the locomotive.

      Stephen Williams The vehicle appears steady simply because the camera is firmly attached to it.

    who told you its a vary bad jointed track? The track is just not welded. For this speed is absolutely fine for the boogie to move like that. It is a normal train ride on un-welded ballast track.

    • @brettmaul2891
      @brettmaul2891 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dimi Proto Just wondering... I've always been under the impression that a train will almost certainly derail on unwelded track. But, it is okay to be unwelded? Is it normal? Just wondering :)

    • @dimiprotoGR
      @dimiprotoGR 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most tracks are unwelded therefore you hear the sound of the wheels repeating. High speed tracks are welded. For this video the train is running absolutely normal o these tracks. Read railway engineering for beginners if you have questions.

    • @brettmaul2891
      @brettmaul2891 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dimi Proto Well, being referred to a beginner's guide for anything pertaining to rail is an insult to me, lol. But thank you!

    • @dimiprotoGR
      @dimiprotoGR 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brett Maul Why ? Do you work at the rail industry? By your questions seems not.

    • @dimiprotoGR
      @dimiprotoGR 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As I read you live in Canada Westlock, being an operator or smt having studies at Technology Institute. However your questions resemble of someone who really does not know much about railway engineering. That's why I recommend a beginners guide for this chapter that probably is not your expertise.

    It looks worse than it is due to the shaking of the brake rigging and springs. The track isn't that bad.

    • @ethanlamoureux5306
      @ethanlamoureux5306 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is the brake rigging is loose and the shocks (dampers) are bad. The track also looks rather rough, by all the movement which can be seen at low speed, especially in the second video.

    2:40 - 3:18 intense wheel hop... suspensions are great on trains. I've commuted on the LIRR and u dont feel a thing, but I'm sure its worse on those tracks.

    Not that bad for sectional track. The wagon or carriage is not traveling that fast, the angle and closeness of the camera makes it appear as though it where moving at some incredible speed. The track is joined with no discernible defects, the ballast may need re-packing.

    • @ethanlamoureux5306
      @ethanlamoureux5306 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree the ballast needs packing, to level the rails and smoothen out the ride. The condition of the ground under the rails is most important when it comes to ride quality.

    WELL it's a passenger car cause if it was a loaded rail's car it would be riding the rails heavier and less virberating,,, yes the BRAKING SYSTEM IS BOUNCING AROUND ALLOT,,, BUT THE RAIL SEEMS SOLID,,, IF THE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS TIGHTER,,,I SEEN NO PROBLEM,,, BUT THIS MAY BE NORMAL FOR A PASSENGER SET OF WHEEL JOURNAL TRUCKS

    • @vanisso
      @vanisso 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tejasnite It's a locomotive. Notice the rubber tubing on the left. Its to dispense sand for traction.
