Thank you for this! It really helps when we can see the whole garden and not just a picture of a flower like we tend to see in tours or on IG! Appreciate that you took the time.
You bet! I thought it was a great suggestion for a video. Backing off an taking this type of look at things also helped me to decided on placement of a few plants I have been wondering about.
Hello dear pam, flower patch lady, i truly loved this film again today,,most lovely, that sweet little bird, the sounds of your lovely chicken s(garden girls).the views from all around are beautiful, oh I love the lane out back also. Xx
I am very happy the bears are more interested in the many fruit trees in this neighborhood and not my chickens too! So far they have behaved themselves. Though my neighbor left some big packages of candy in her car overnight and they got in and now there is candy wrapper strewn all over. Yes, the bears here know how to open car doors.
Thankyou again pam ,xxim going to watch this one again with my little granddaughter at the weekend, shes 5 and will love too see all zround and about the the little bird znd bears when they go by,,,she love my chickens and love hearing about trees znd flowers which is nice,xi must s a y yourbhouse too looks beautiful with the pretty leaves on the trees around the outside,,thsnkyou ,beautiful film again, take care, xx
Hi. Setting with coffee watching Bluejays eat peanuts out of feeder on my back deck. A small red-headed Woodpecker comes every morning to grab a peanut. You do have a lot of blooms left.
Don't you love the little visitors? I need to get more birdseed to help them all through the winter. This year they have been more scarce as the construction behind me has caused them to nest elsewhere but I know they will come back. After I filmed this we had a few below freezing nights and now everything really is toast and blackened. I enjoyed it all while I had it. No to prep for next season in earnest!
Just after I filmed we had a few below freezing nights and now everything is toast. But at least we have not gotten snowed on yet and I am racing against time to get things in better order before it does!
Hi Pam, loved the tour, is Miss. Rachel you cat? She is so cute. How great is it that you have no grass to mow. Do you leave your roses in the barrels over winter? If so how do you protect them from snow? Love the secret garden and how it is so private and raised, you have made it grow into something so special. I love that space the most. Spectred Isle is my favourite rose of all DA roses because it doesn't get any mold or pests and blooms non stop! We had our first frost last night too, everything was white and sparkling this morning and SO cold. I have to take down all the Halloween decorations and rake up the weeks worth of leaves to use in my garden as winter mulch, that will take take me all day! Hope you get everything done that you need to in your garden today.
Yes I do leave the roses in the barrels and I just top it up with some mulch or chicken litter from the pen. I am working on a video on how I winterize my roses now and it will show how I do it. Though we get a lot of snow we don't get the super below zero temps that many others do. And the snow acts as an insulator. Yes Rachel is our kitty. Her brother, whom we adopted with her has decided he likes living with a neighbor down the street more so we let him, his name is Reuban. 🐈
What a great video, so helpful! Now when you are working near a stand of chopped wood or the beautiful Primrose Cottage I will be able to place you 👍 I love multi-level lots, so charming and interesting but never mind gardening shoes, you need hiking boots! 😂 Great job Pam, really beautiful and a true Cottage Garden! 🇨🇦 ZN4
Good morning Pamela ☀️🤗 I'm so glad you posted this perspective video! I was trying to figure out placement of things watching other videos... and this helps a lot! You have a created such a beautiful and peaceful space ❤
Thank you, gardening for me is such a dear pleasure and I will never be done, I am always changing my mind and take things another direction and testing out new to me plants. I am going to attempt to give perspective in each video now as I can tell it was hard for many to understand where everything is. I would love to do some drone footage to really tell the story!
I feel the same way girl 🤗 gardening is simply part of my life... many do not understand lol 😂 it's okay! It brings me joy, keeps me moving, and creates a space that I love ❤️ our lil spot here in gold rush country is my happy bubble 😂
This was so enlightening! A challenging space, but you have been so creative with it... It's picturesque. The 'alley walk' was one of my favorite aspects. Were you aware of the amount of snow you'd receive when you moved here or was it a suprise? Thanks
Funny enough I did know as I grew up just one block away in this neighborhood. It was and is a fabulous area to grow up. Only in the past few years have I come to really want a longer growing season. Plus as we age clearing the snow has become more challenging. Most years aren’t too bad but last winter was harsh. ❄️
No I didn't. I bought these at a garden center. My husband is a welder and probably could have made them but for the time and cost of materials it was just as cost effective to buy them.
This was so helpful, Pam. It's funny how even a small space can be disorienting if you can't see the bigger picture. Also, I felt like I had never fully seen the front of your house. It's the exact kind of house that if I were driving by, I would shout, "That's my house!" (I always appropriate houses that resonate with me.) Question about the Primrose Cottage: is it also a greenhouse? Or is it what you refer to as your studio? I don't recall if I've seen a video of you inside of it or if you've only been in your other greenhouses. Just curious. It looks so charming.
I am planning on an inside look at Primrose cottage and it is my painting studio now and not a greenhouse though I have been toying with the idea of turning it into my office space and turn the room my office is in currently back into a guest bedroom. Though I will not like giving up my view from the upstairs out to the forest. My office is the upper window on the right as you look at the front of the house.
I have numerous types of lavenders, about 10 different ones. Many I got as cuttings from friends so I don't know their names. I did put a 6 pack of Hidcote in the circle garden this past summer and I have Phenomenal back by the greenhouse.
Yes, that makes such a difference, in my Gardening by Zones video, I tell everyone that zone 8 in Texas is so different than zone 8 here and you need to garden for your conditions and not zones alone. Zones only give you a piece of the puzzle.@@GlendasTexasGarden
I have thought of doing that more in winter but right now it is such a disaster inside that no one really wants to see, I am in the middle of purging and decluttering and it is a case of it looking worse before it gets better. But I will and I will do some videos inside my Primrose Cottage.
I love that your garden is real life and relatable. It is very charming.
Thank you so much, I do try and keep it real rather than fantasy.
Thank you for this! It really helps when we can see the whole garden and not just a picture of a flower like we tend to see in tours or on IG! Appreciate that you took the time.
You are most welcome. Doing this actually gave me a bit more perspective too so it is a double win!
I love your garden and setting.
Thank you! When I am grumbling about dealing with snow I need to remember how beautiful it really is here.
Thanks for taking us around. Really helps to visualize the spaces.

Such lovely cottege! Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! I am so happy you enjoyed it.
Thanks for giving a perspective on your garden. Never realized how multi-levelled your garden is. Bonny zone 5b Canada
It can be challenging but it also can make it more interesting if I work with it right.
Just beautiful!
Thank you!

A lot still in bloom 😊

Thank you for sharing….wow! Bear poop, and I complain about stray cat poop.
Yes, the bear are thick in this neighborhood and can be a big problem but that comes with living in the mountains!

Funny enough looking at my garden through this video even I get a perspective I hadn’t before and it has sparked some ideas. 😊

Beautiful place you have. Did you make your rose arbors?
No I didn't. I bought these at a garden center. My husband is a welder and probably could have made them but for the time and cost of materials it was just as cost effective to buy them.

Are you zone 8 in the west or in the east?
I am in California.
@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse I am in Southeast Central Texas, we have very high humidity and dew points here.

Would you be interested in showing a tour of your home inside?
I have thought of doing that more in winter but right now it is such a disaster inside that no one really wants to see, I am in the middle of purging and decluttering and it is a case of it looking worse before it gets better. But I will and I will do some videos inside my Primrose Cottage.
