@Flexx Alexander big fan of the channel man your the W204 GOAT. Question, I noticed you replaced the cheap hosing leading to the intake with aftermarket hosing that looks much nicer. Do you remember where you got that hosing? Didn't look like you had any videos for that
Hello) I've read that those type of filter actually have too much oil in them getting out from the factory which can lead to oil intake in to the system
Not really. It’s depends. Some are over oiled from the manufacturers or over oiled by the user when they go to recharge it. This one from tornado tuning is fine. Zero issues whatsoever.
Flexx, I know this is off topic in regards to this video, but what is your opinion of straight piping a W204 coupe? As always, really love your content!
Mike L now all new direct injection car have smaller turbos they require some small back pressure a straigh pipe will loose all torque on lower end so this solution is useless can use a 300 cell down pipe
Yes and no. Depends on the owners goals. You want a car that just drives from point a to point b, then stick with stock. Keep paying money to replace that paper filter every year. You want your engine to have a louder intake sound, keep air cooler before it feeds into the engine (cooler air means more performance), and while having a reusable cotton filter that you never need to replace…then go aftermarket. You’re mechanic is right but wrong at the same time cause he’s not looking at it from all angles.
I've never had an issue with BMS when it came to performance...but I heard alot of people had check engine light issues, vibration issues, and poor performance cause of heat soak. Which could be just related to the combo of that intake with your specific car? I can tell you I have zero issues with the tornado intake...but again, my car isn't sensitive like some other C250 cars when it comes to mods.
Hi, I have a C180 2009 modified to stage one. I was told to prepare it for stage two, I have to change the air intake system and the intercooler. How do I know what intercooler is bigger than the one currently in my car? Would I go for a different C Class? As in if I went for a C300 would that mean my car would have a bigger intercooler?
I’ve been trying to find a solution to my problem bc the previous owner got rid of the oem filter box and this seems to be the perfect fix but do you think the price makes it worth it seems like it’s a bit high priced don’t you think?
How long did it take for you to get your blow off cable from turbo tuning? I ordered the same one off the link in the video and it’s been over a month and still pending shipping
Not really. It’s all in the way you wash your car. Long passes with a soapy mitt. Don’t do circles or you’ll cause surface scratches and swirl marks. And those things make black pain look like crap regardless what wax or coating you put on. I wash my car, thoroughly dry and in the shade, I use some turtle wax ice spray. I think they have a version for black paint too. Where the spray liquid is black and it helps conceal light scratches and swirl marks.
Hey flex do you still have this setup? And not using? I really want to buy but the price on the website is a lot, wanted to see if you would sell it to me, great videos bro I’ve done a lot of your mods, I have the exact same car
Hi Flex, did adding the cover work? I have seen some othe ryoutubers say that on other products with a heat cover it works to an extent but hot air from the engine still comes through ... what was your experience like?
Well. Define “works”? Cause this is the lesser of 2 evils. The first intake I had was completely exposed. So it will definitely draw in hot air. This one with the shield definitely helps but it’s not gonna block out 100% hot air. Also, even the oem air box (that’s completely sealed) will still take in hot air cause plastic absorbs heat really well. That’s why for an intake, you just need to pick your poison. It’s not really designed for noticeable performance increases when installed alone. It’s meant to work with a more modified engine that has silicone turbo charge pipes and a bigger Intercooler to cool that air coming in from the intake. With other mods, doesn’t matter if the air through the intake is cold or semi hot, the other parts will make it colder before it hits the intake manifold.
@@TheFlexxGarage Ah okay I get you. I was intending to install a customer intercooler anyway and then a hybrid turbo down the line (don't know if that helps though) by works, for me it would mean is it worth just putting in a K&N air filter like you had before as opposed to getting a heat protected intake system. Tbh I spoke to Turbo Tuning, they were very nice and responsive but are saying due to covid they can't do anything for deisels at the moment so I have found K&N heat protected intake... not sure what is better
Adds a little more hp to the car given its an open air intake. It also improves sound A LOT making it sound more aggressive. I’ve personally added an open air intake to my c250 and it sounds great 👍🏼
Nope. Only issue was the filter got dirty really quick and on hot days, the car felt a tad sluggish...which could be because the filter was experiencing heat soak. It’s not covered so it’s just sucking in a lot of engine heat. That’s why I preferred the tornado tuning one. It is an open filter style and has a heat resistant cover. So I get sound, performance, and it won’t suck in hot air or get dirty quick.
Might seem like a dumb question but do the tornado tuning charge and intake piped also fit with the cold air intake or are they only made for the stock air box

You may be better off just buying a w204 C63. the V8 is a bigger engine and *probably* needs more space than what's in the C250 bay? You should also research into all of the other parts to make sure they are the same spec. You don't want to overstress the stock parts built for a 200hp car by throwing a 500hp engine onto the drive shaft. Also, you'll have to do a lot of other electronics updates, ECU tune, etc. Honestly not sure, but just from my BS sounds like more work than you probably want but research into it if you're curious! 1. You are asking about a c300 on a c250 video. Two different engines with 2 different intake setups. 2. Doesn’t matter what car you have, if you go with an open filter setup for an intake, it will suck in hot air. It’s not just an issue on a c300. It’s any car. 3. The only way around it is to basically cover the filter...just like how all cars come with an air filter inside a covered housing. That’s what I did with this c250 intake kit. It’s the best of both worlds. An open performance filter with a heat resistant cover. You can’t do this to a c300 because that car has a different intake setup and nobody makes a covered aftermarket intake kit. The only thing you can do to a c300 is replace the stock filter with a performance air filter and keep it inside the stock air box.

Can I do this on a 2003 e500?
