The transition from "Good job, Beth! You took out the last parasite!" To "oh noooooo" is so funny and awful at the same time 🤣 I did the exact same thing.

In fact, I've seen this episode several times and realized something for the first time watching your reaction. We should've known he was real all along because he had a smart phone with pictures on it at 5:30. None of the imposters had smart phones or appeared in photos around the house.

Dan Harmon actually said that mr. poopybutthole is a different kind of parasite, one that's more benign and sneaky. You can see this because there's no parasites besides mpb and he forces a flashback where more parasites get born
Beth's eyes squinting at Mr Poopy Butthole in the end was her trying to find any negative memories of him. It also looks like Sleepy Gary actual cares for Jerry. As you mentioned, he didn't even created any parasite during that boat memory. He just did it to calm Jerry and resolved his existential crisis. It's pretty sweet. Two parasites falling for eachother. XD
Had this comment been made as the video came out, I would've defended Jerry as to not being a parasite. But in the great season of of S4, I must agree at this time 🤣
I won't say this is the best R&M episode, but it is a perfect R&M episode. After all these years, I still can't find a single thing I dislike about Total Rickall.
Rick accuses his family of bringing in the parasites on the bottom of their shoes or alien fruit. However, at the start of the episode, he can be seen dropping green crystals into the bin with purple dots on them. These are the same crystals obtained in Mortynight Run (2015), where one of them already had a purple dot, presumably a parasite larva. A theory about Mr. Poopybutthole's existence in the family is that Mortynight Run (2015) (where Rick supposedly picks up the parasites) and this episode are both set in a dimension separate from the regularly depicted dimension, which is completely similar with the sole difference being the existence of Mr. Poopybutthole, explaining why he is not a parasite, yet has never been seen before this episode.
Holy shit 😂 That makes sense why he wasn't a parasite. I remember you mentioned the crystals before. The continuity is so great. This is definitely a show I'm going to have to go back for a second rewatch to make all the connections.
This show has soooo many layers, hints and clues in it it's insane. Sometimes things multiple seasons back are connected. You'd never expect it from a show like this. Part of what makes it great. Years later I still discover things like this.

If you really think about it, Morty and Summer had bad memories with Mr. Poopybutthole. I don't think those two liked the experience of pissing themselves. Plus, Mr. Poopybutthole stayed for dinner. A real parasite would be miles away trying to infect the world by that time
Yeah, hindsight is 20/20 I hate missing those clues in the first watch. But I LOVE seeing y'all let me know in the comments what I miss. It's nice because you all have seen the show so much and know a lot of the background!
This is one of the best episodes and definitely almost certainly the funniest. And Rick keeps asking to be shot cause he’s deeply depressed and suicidal.

Its important to remember that mr poopy butthole only initiated one flash-back and it was a negative memory. They were stuck in an elevator and arguing, beth DID have a bad memory with him. She was just too caught up to realize....
But fake Cousin Nicky freed them from the elevator in the flashback, so I think that particular parasite caused the flashback, which means it's not real. The family members have real memories with Mr. Poopy Butthole, but I don't think that's one of them.

The ending of this episode has to be the one of the best all-time. Making you think poopypants is a parasite, and then reveling he is real.
