The best we can hope for experiencing this kind of excitement would be something like this: Buy VR goggles. Got to sleep with VR on your head. Set the VR game to start when you normally wake up. VR game is just you waking up and dressing up to go to E3 2018. See some crappy game announcements. You are kinda bored and you are still waiting for something interesting. There'd be people on the floor, convulsing and foaming at the mouths, people would rip their clothes off and start strangling each other out of confusion. And that's why there will never be another Half Life game. Valve could not handle that level of expectation, no one could.
I think a much better line would be simply a drawn out "Doctor Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeman!" then a gap for the audience to scream itself silly, then "Your time has come at last", and bring up the Half Life 3 logo.
