Good information. How to calculate the labour hours for different types of steel structure. I mean light, medium, heavy and extra heavy steels. It is easy to take material take off. I am always doing mistakes on considering labour hours, it significantly affect the project. Kindly explain how to consider the labour hours accurately.
Hello thank you for this. I'm a new estimator in a company and what we do is get the total weight of the structure and use it to price the material, fabrication, HDG and paint. the installation is base of total area of the site of the project. and I'm not sure if this is effective in a long run but we are getting project doing this. sorry for my bad engrish.
I've heard of that, but never done it. So you get tonnage and multiply times what? Does the number you multiply that tonnage change from project to project? Thank you.
@@aest1524 -For material, multiplied by cost of material per weight. -Fabrication, I dont know where they get the value, maybe from their experience because as of still now i dont know how they price fabrication. I know there are lots of factors in costing fabrication but here in our company they dont share how they change it depending of what project we cost and ofcoure our production manager is sucks at monitoring projects and no documentation. -Painting, paint material will base on surface area, and for labour it will depends on the material needed to paint. Small and mobile project cost less in labors paint. Big and heavy alot of work to be done before painting will cost high ofcourse. -HDG, we just multiply it by cost per weight. compny doing HDG, price us base on weight. -transport, that will depends on how the material will be care of and the location. -Installation. this one i have less knowledge as i dont have much experience and not doing site job so I cant estimate how many person will be involved and ofcoure our production manager dont have documentation for this. if only he had this info, maybe I can. -Design, this one is covered in Overhead. some instanced we made separate price if the design if complicated.
Great Video
All that CJP field welding gets pricey! I enjoyed this 2nd in the series presentation.
Thank you, @Sunyrayman123 I appreciate your support! Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
