Looks like these don't have any Impact absorbing protection. these are just skid pad. These are a bad idea IMO. The skid plate is nice to have on top of pads, but you need protection tat will protect against a big hit. So these are not for downhill or gnarly stuff. I've not found the perfect pads yet. But I use Pearl Izumi Elevate they have a very breathable D3O pads. Despite being in the size range of the Medium it's too loose at my elbows. So I will get my sewing kit and modify them. Maybe small would fit me. But a con with these pads is they tear, the knee pads at least but those had venting holes.

They have foam under the plate. Although, D30 is a more elegant solution for elbow pads.
