    When lifting trucks/SUVs, a lot safer to use U shaped pads that go up either side of the chassis rail. Can slip of a pad, can't slip out of a cradle.

    Great job. Great theme. Questions: 1. What should I do if the power is turned off? 2.Where are the best points under the car, for lifting heavy cars?

    • @RedlineStands
      @RedlineStands  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1 - Get a generator or wait for the power to come back on
      2 - Under the frame
      Thanks

    Awsome unit, I'm in the process of hopefully getting a lift, saw your vids and like this one...you should do a "how to" video, on how to line up the arms. Of course you have to put the non verbal disclosure, "stupidity is not covered" in there as well. May be helpful how to balance the vehicle CORRECTLY

    • @RedlineStands
      @RedlineStands  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, getting the vehicle balanced is all feel. I like to center cars between the towers and load pickups so the front of the truck is more toward the center of the lift. Lastly, if I have any concerns at all I like to manually try to lift each end of the vehicle. If one end feels light-weight at all, that tells me everything I need to know.

      It's a 250 amp TIG, non-water cooled. I also run a 250 amp Hobart MIG. I recommend them both. Lot of folks don't know it, but Miller, which is who makes my plasma cutter, and Hobart, are the same company.

    I have a quick question my shop is 27 feet from workbench to bay door. How far from the bay door would you put this hoist?

    • @RedlineStands
      @RedlineStands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The longest vehicle you will feasibly ever lift is 22 ft. I'd probably put it right in the middle. That'll give you 2.5 feet on each end.

    What is the min req'd shop ceiling height for this unit? What is the integral footer dimensions under each post for new pour slabs?

    • @RedlineStands
      @RedlineStands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This lift is adjustable to either 143” or 149” in height. So, depending on which setting you plan to use, we believe it’s a good idea to give yourself 2” of extra ceiling height. As for the concrete foundation, you’ll learn everything you need to know in the video in the link below. Thanks for your question Cliff.

      @RedlineStands  ปีที่แล้ว

      We at Redline quit doing installations years ago. We never had an accident with one of the lifts we installed, but it just worried us that we were making $700 to install a lift, but risking $700,000 if something went wrong. The risk just didn't justify the reward. Sorry.
