Nice vid! I started my adventure with rx8 in 2017 and after doing plenty of reliability mods it's running like a charm each time. 😊 For starting issues larger coils really do the job.
yeah the coils pack not really common problem for. theseRX-8 the common problem with these cars are the Apex seal and engine failure, thanks for watching
@@3hmongchannel762coils, plugs and wires are a very common replacement for the rx8 and is highly recommended by a lot of people who own them. Apex seals go bad because of the owners not keeping an eye on the oil. Pre mixing oil and fuel is also a must.
Great video! Can also use compressed air for drying plugs but the blow torch works too. Can disconnect fuel pump fuse and e shaft sensor if you don’t want to use rag. Good job!
@@3hmongchannel762 hey, my car is running now, dont now what was the problem, have changed the battery and its started. but i have a serious problem, when my motor is idling round about 1100-900 rpm the catalyst is so hot that is glowing really strong. i have checked if it is melted inside, but its looks brand new. do you have maybe an idea?
This is dumb, It was just flooded! This can happen if you leave it sitting to long, or this will happen every time if you don't let it get to running temp before you turn it off. Starting when your RX8 is flooded is easy. Hold your foot on the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and turn over for ten seconds and then wait ten seconds before starting again, and repeat this ten times. Holding the gas pedal all the way down will prevent any gas from being added to the engine, and the ten seconds between turn overs will stop the starter motor from over heating. On the eleventh time start with your foot all the way down on the gas pedal, then while still turning over, slowly release your foot from the pedal until the car starts, hold your foot where it started to keep it going, until the car has reached running temp, just under half way on the temperature gauge. After that you can turn it off, and it should start up again fine without touching the pedal. All in all it only takes about four or five minutes and you don't even have to look in the engine bay. P.S This has nothing to do with compression, or seals, or oil, or spark plugs, or timing. Mine is the 2006 RX8, I am the second owner, and have had it for well over 11 years now, and have flooded it twice. Once because I got up half asleep to move it out of the driveway to let another car out, I started it and only went down the short drive and parked on the street right outside, and turned it off without letting it get to running temp. And once because I let it sit for a couple of weeks while away.
I just bought my car the other day and I'm going to try this. The car is turning and cranking but not starting. When I try to start it, it smells like gas so I'm not sure if this is the problem though.
your Engine flooded, your looks for one of my video called how to de-flood your Mazda RX-8, and follow the procedures, If your still can't get it to start and run shoot me messages.
Don’t let your starter motor run for more than 15 seconds or you run the risk of will BURNING IT OUT. There’s no cooling for the starter motor ( it’s designed to run for approx. 15 sec. at a time.).
Low on compression. Needs rebuilt to have higher compression. You can install the newer starter that has more power to turn the engine faster for starting similar to the speed the engine turns when pop starting in 2nd gear. That could get you more time out of the engine but eventually you will need a rebuild.
Most of these guys dont have patience all that work for nothing. Just make sure battery is fully charged and just crank engine for 10sec and stop and continue umtil it starts my guy.

So the engine was flooded?
yes, it is when the engine flooded it's sound like loose all the compression
Thank you!
My rx8 only start (starting in 2 Gear) if i push the car and have a p2004 code any ideas pleas
