Thanks for the video! My RX8 was becoming difficult to start and had developed a ticking noise coming from the left-hand side wheel well. Used this video to figure out how to get to the spark plugs and one of the leads had become dislodged. Really informative, thanks!
Thank you! Hard enough finding parts for this car and books/manuals are impossible. Super easy with these directions. This helped greatly and the car is running much better. I found it was not necessary to remove air filter box but I did remove cross bar. Again thanks.
Excellent how to vid! Thanks for pointing out the part numbers not only for the parts but the specialized tool. Extra points for showing the torque values for the plugs.
Hi there RX8 owners - please give some advice concerning alternative spark plugs to the NGK RE7CL LEADING & NGK RE9BT TRAILING - here in South Africa they are hard to come by - not to mention overpriced - a single Leading plug is R750.00 (approx $55.00) and the Trailing R680.00 (approx $50.00) ------------- it would be fine to purchase a set, but seeing these companies don't stock I'm required to purchase a 10 piece box at a time.
boredmder I know this might sound silly but - would it not be wise moving the location of the ignition coils and 'design' a heat shielded box for them. Maybe use more powerful spark plug wires like 8.8>standard
+Verum Quaerere Seek Truth You very well could (in fact, I swear I've seen it done before), and it would likely increase their lifespan some. Personally I wouldn't bother, but I don't put nearly enough miles on my car to worry about coil life very often.
+hammy jamon heh didn't realize how much screen time it got until editing. It's always around, just like in a lot of my older videos you can see me smoking the entire time.
Thanks for posting. I had a Mazda dealer do this and they charged 1200. I knew I was ripped off. Next time I will do it myself.

Great job on the video, an easy job but you nailed the important details ie: leading / trailing and the order. Thanks
