      “ *Those who are capable of tyranny are capable of perjury to sustain it* .”
      “... *only those who have the will and the power to shoot down their fellow men, are the real rulers in this, as in all other (so-called) civilized countries; for by no others will civilized men be robbed, or enslaved* .”
      ― Lysander Spooner, No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority
      *"So these villains, who call themselves governments, well understand that their power rests primarily upon stolen money* . *With money they can hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort money* . *And, when their authority is denied, the first use they always make of money, is to hire soldiers to kill or subdue all who refuse them more money* ."
      *-The payment of taxes, being compulsory, of course furnishes no evidence that any one voluntarily supports the Constitution* .
      *It is true that the theory of our Constitution is, that all taxes are paid voluntarily; that our government is a mutual insurance company, voluntarily entered into by the people with each other; that each man makes a free and purely voluntary contract with all others who are parties to the Constitution, to pay so much money for so much protection, the same as he does with any other insurance company; and that he is just as free not to be protected, and not to pay any tax, as he is to pay a tax, and be protected* .
      *But this theory of our government is wholly different from the practical fact* . *The fact is that the government, like a highwayman, says to a man: Your money, or your life* . *And many, if not most, taxes are paid under the compulsion of that threat* ;.
      *The government does not, indeed, waylay a man in a lonely place, spring upon him from the road side, and, holding a pistol to his head, proceed to rifle his pockets* . *But the robbery is none the less a robbery on that account; and it is far more dastardly and shameful* .
      *The highwayman takes solely upon himself the responsibility, danger, and crime of his own act* . *He does not pretend that he has any rightful claim to your money, or that he intends to use it for your own benefit* . *He does not pretend to be anything but a robber* . *He has not acquired impudence enough to profess to be merely a “protector,” and that he takes men’s money against their will, merely to enable him to “protect” those infatuated travellers, who feel perfectly able to protect themselves, or do not appreciate his peculiar system of protection* . *He is too sensible a man to make such professions as these* . *Furthermore, having taken your money, he leaves you, as you wish him to do* . *He does not persist in following you on the road, against your will; assuming to be your rightful “sovereign,” on account of the “protection” he affords you* . *He does not keep “protecting” you, by commanding you to bow down and serve him; by requiring you to do this, and forbidding you to do that; by robbing you of more money as often as he finds it for his interest or pleasure to do so; and by branding you as a rebel, a traitor, and an enemy to your country, and shooting you down without mercy, if you dispute his authority, or resist his demands* . *He is too much of a gentleman to be guilty of such impostures, and insults, and villanies as these* . *In short, he does not, in addition to robbing you, attempt to make you either his dupe or his slave* .
      *The proceedings of those robbers and murderers, who call themselves “the government,” are directly the opposite of these of the single highwayman* .
      *In the first place, they do not, like him, make themselves individually known; or, consequently, take upon themselves personally the responsibility of their acts* . *On the contrary, they secretly (by secret ballot) designate some one of their number to commit the robbery in their behalf, while they keep themselves practically concealed* . *They say to the person thus designated:*
      *Go to A- B-, and say to him that “the government” has need of money to meet the expenses of protecting him and his property* . *If he presumes to say that he has never contracted with us to protect him, and that he wants none of our protection, say to him that that is our business, and not his; that we choose to protect him, whether he desires us to do so or not; and that we demand pay, too, for protecting him* . *If he dares to inquire who the individuals are, who have thus taken upon themselves the title of “the government,” and who assume to protect him, and demand payment of him, without his having ever made any contract with them, say to him that that, too, is our business, and not his; that we do not choose to make ourselves individually known to him; that we have secretly (by secret ballot) appointed you our agent to give him notice of our demands, and, if he complies with them, to give him, in our name, a receipt that will protect him against any similar demand for the present year* . *If he refuses to comply, seize and sell enough of his property to pay not only our demands, but all your own expenses and trouble beside* .
      *If he resists the seizure of his property, call upon the bystanders to help you (doubtless some of them will prove to be members of our band)* . *If, in defending his property, he should kill any of our band who are assisting you, capture him at all hazards; charge him (in one of our courts) with murder, convict him, and hang him* . *If he should call upon his neighbors, or any others who, like him, may be disposed to resist our demands, and they should come in large numbers to his assistance, cry out that they are all rebels and traitors; that “our country” is in danger; call upon the commander of our hired murderers; tell him to quell the rebellion and “save the country,” cost what it may* . *Tell him to kill all who resist, though they should be hundreds of thousands; and thus strike terror into all others similarly disposed* . *See that the work of murder is thoroughly done, that we may have no further trouble of this kind hereafter* . *When these traitors shall have thus been taught our strength and our determination, they will be good loyal citizens for many years, and pay their taxes without a why or a wherefore* .
      *It is under such compulsion as this that taxes, so called, are paid* . *And how much proof the payment of taxes affords, that the people consent to support “the government,” it needs no further argument to show* .
      *Lysander Spooner (1870)*

      There was absolutely no reason for his bad attitude from the very beginning. An A+ is simply absurd. At best, he deserved a C. The lady officer deserved an A because she expressed the very beginning that he hadn't done anything wrong.

      I wish more officers thought like you do. All the officers have to do is inform and move on. By constantly questioning and threatening, it turns it into "an issue" where citizens are fearful and quite literally "shake like a leaf". We do not live in a time where laws are followed and justice is served, from cops to citizens to courts. Because of this, citizens are fearful for exercising their rights. Today, only one side is allowed to exercise their rights, both in public and on the internet. Cops can be the ones to stop this as they could have here. YOU are taking that step and making a difference by educating cops. Thank you! Cops should only threaten a citizen with arrest if the citizen is in danger of being arrested for a particular action. Otherwise, inform the citizen of the complaints others are making and then move on. Quick, easy and peaceful. Quite literally, To Protect and Serve.

      They are ALL, SPECIFICALLY trained to do this $#!T. It's part of an elaborate "investigative tactic", commonly known as a "fishing expedition" it's a clumsy, transparent and ridiculous intimidation tactic.
      They stop you on some fabricated pretext.... they say "someone said" you were weaving while driving or you didn't signal early enough, or no seatbelt.
      From that stop alone they immediately begin looking for ANY excuse to turn their flimsy, catch all, elastic, "probable cause" bull$#!T stop into a felony arrest...
      Barney Fyfe gets a felony bust logged on his employment jacket, the city makes bucks from the fines, the "legal" apparatus makes even more bucks prosecuting/defending you and YOU (If Black, Latino or other non-white), gets brutalized, injured, criminalized, incarcerated and put into the prison industrial complex where even more "revenue" aka profits are generated for bond holders and investors.
      Personal experience;
      I am walking to the post office with a box under my arm. A box I packed myself.
      Someone had called the cops. I guess they thought I had stolen the box off someone's front porch...
      Two cops get out of their cars. I stop and all I did was drop the box at my feet.
      1st cop;
      "Dude, dude, aaattituuude..."
      My response;
      "Define attitude"
      No reply. He shuts up
      2nd cop
      "What's your name?"
      My response;
      "What can I do for you?"
      That set the tone for the whole interaction in which I got asked for ID, where I lived, where I was going, am i on medication, had I been drinking (I have never consumed alcohol), why am I looking around - well, 8 more thugs with badges had shown up by then so I am going to LOOK at ALL of them. One walked around behind me. I turned to face him. He goes back with the others.
      One asked could he look in the box - I said;
      "You know you need a warrant for that, right?
      But go ahead..."
      He unsealed the box looks through it, finds my personal belongings, closes it and looks at the other cops.
      Fishing expedition failed!
      The next "probable cause" pretext question came from a cop on the verge of obesity. She asked;
      "what's your social security number",
      To which I ALWAYS answer;
      "Are you with the IRS or, do you have a subpoena with a judge's wet ink signature that I can read?"
      Chubby female cop;
      "Well we need to see if you have ANY warrants"
      My response;
      "I don't (which is true), I will NOT give you my SSN and if you continue to harass me about it, I am going to request that your supervisor come down here with a complaint form."
      Chubby female cop - voice getting elevated and "authoritative";
      "It's the law, you have to provide your social"
      I said;
      "Could you show or cite me that law?
      Lady, codes, statutes or policy is not law."
      1st cop;
      "Are you a lawyer?"
      My response was to look him in the eyes, smile and deliberately say nothing.
      They all looked around at each other shuffling their feet - cars werevsholing down, drivers looked on, some guy across the street had started a video recording - they noticed him and somehow decided I was free to go.
      See, they ALWAYS try to get you intimidated, flustered, overwhelmed and talking.
      Unfortunately most people fall for this cheap parlor trick, get scared, talk way too much shake, stammer and provide these thugs with exactly what they are after. Information on which to arrest you or fabricate a case against YOU. Shut up!!
      When you get scared adrenaline rushes into your system. That causes your hands, lips etc to shake, your eyes tend to dart, your pupils dilate, your nostrils flair.
      This is all a normal, natural, non-drug induced response to adrenalin.
      Here is how to counteract that.
      1. Realise you are in a state of fear
      2. KNOW the fear response is coming, it WILL be visible and WILL be used as pretext
      3. BREATHE - slowly and deeply. This is important.
      4. Focus, engage your mind, LOOK at each and every one of them for - features, marks, scars, tattoos, eye color voice tone, mannerisms etc etc
      When stressed your brain appears to slow down events. Use this to memorize EVERY detail. Trust me it works.
      5. If your voice quivers or stutters, if these mutts cause you that much fright. Say NOTHING.
      That's right become a wall of silence.
      They can ONLY go on what you give them and when you are under duress say NOTHING.
      6. If you are focused and confident. Take charge of the situation - NO, that does NOT mean yell, scream, posture or become belligerent - quite the opposite. Become calm, breathe slowly, speak softly, answer their questions with questions of your own.
      Example;
      Cop;
      "Have you had any alcohol today/tonight?"
      You;
      "No, but thanks for asking, have you.... what time was your last drink... what time did you start your shift... do you often drink before your shift... is alcohol a substance you abuse... do you get blackouts?
      Oh, YES... look them dead in the eyes.... quietly and deliberately GO there!!
      Understand that many of them have substance abuse issues. They are stressed, fearful. Scared people do really dumb things.
      So leave the belligerence to them. It's what they do best.
      7. Set your phone to record and shut up.
      They are NOT there to protect you but you have rights... your $$$$ pays them ergo these thugs in uniform work for YOU!
      Act accordingly and let them squirm.

      Many cities have permits you can buy which allow you to install the signs for X number of days. Just have to pay the fee and then cleanup when done.
      source: I used to pick them up late at night. Part of my report was to inform the city the signs were removed prior to the date.
      And to Taddy, they are super effective and finding motivated home sellers. When someone just wants their house gone fast, they generally call these signs are the junk mail they receive. They get only 60% of the value of their home, but it is fast, hassle free and almost never any issues. Just boom, bang, boom, done! Cash in hand. So great for many people. Home owner gets rid of their house they don't want. And the buyer now has a cheap home they can sell, flip, rent, or bird dog to someone else.

Less said is far better. I'm sure looking back you might have said, "Hi officers, how can I help you?" "Am I guilty of committing a crime and if so, what is it?" All in a calm, respectful voice. I thought the woman police officer did a marvelous job of keeping HER cool while you seemed to be very agitated and somewhat disrespectful to them. After her initial confrontation, the lady cop seemed to change her demeanor, at which point, she was making more of an appeal as a request than as a legal mandate. And she was right - the citizen was discourteous to her. Asserting your rights does not require being a jerk. He did not catch that he had won her over. A better response would have been - "Thank you for respecting my rights and for your courteousness. Your request has been noted." So whereas her initial response was a C, we ought to give her credit (a B+) for doing what few cops hardly ever do - realizing on the spot that they are wrong and acting on it. In my book (the good book) that's huge.

      You’re both correct to a degree, as we all are about everything, of course. Truth is broad, relative - you know the jig by now. If I may just open you up to the portion of the truth Boulder and I were getting at for a moment... Remember the enemy uses the tools of cynicism, distrust of neighbors, separation of siblings, breaking down of alliances, assumption without merit... suspicion, distrust. All of the ingredients in that soup are used to deliberately weaken our national and local unity - our absolute greatest strength, the source of our pride, the key to the entire equation, is just what they’re after, through those breaking down of historically uplifted bonds.
      As a thought experiment, whether you believe in me or not, imagine what it would be like if we assumed zero trust, what a hell hole we’d live in. Just imagine it, take it to the unreasonable degree for the sake of your own picture - to understand what we’re speaking of better. We couldn’t so much as order a pizza, pick up a hitch hiker, or start a conversation with a stranger.
      This cynicism and all of this, turning up of the stove top burner’s gas, this intensity increase some seem to be so excited for - it’s not actually our friend, not in the scenario of neighborhood police and civilian, it’s truly not and we have to begin reorienting our judgement if we think that’s where the fight between good and evil will be fought. The battle I’m describing here, that’s our destruction, that’s our lose-lose. There is an enemy, there is a way to organize against them - to man our own ship, all of this is indeed true and is pertinent. But don’t let them trick us into any sort of civil war, war of races, or anything that involves our common descent, our American heritage, our real folks brutalizing one another. Watch out for it, because it’s already happening and they’re far into the inning. The ground work is already laid out, and they’ve been pushing the buttons for some time now. Of course, Americans are not that easy and it hasn’t quite set off like planned. But if we don’t wake up and fight the true enemy, they’ll get enough of us fooled and get us to do irreversible damage to the historical American understanding.

      This argument makes zero sense if you think about it for even a second.
      The reason we even have a punitive judicial and prison system is because of peoples feelings about a crime committed. Anger and revenge are inherent functions of human psychology. Its because of this you will always see people getting very emotional (angry) when hearing about a murder, child predation, etc., often wishing for the highest possible jail time, sometimes even the death sentence.
      Im not justifying this emotional line of thinking btw, just explaining it.

      You just know he was looking to get that sweet payday if they arrested him. He knew the laws this time, but he also seems arrogant enough to get tripped up because he used his own interpretation. I dislike the guys like this because they are about knowing your rights without the wisdom of when to do it. There is zero excuse for him to have come at those officers like that. Perhaps they misspoke at the beginning, but they acknowledged those errors.
      I also feel it's disingenuous to say that her statement about having to respond to all calls is faulty. The statement is probably less about law and more about community. If they just ignore which calls they respond to, that opens them up to discrimination claims. The residents may not be happy the guy wasn't taken away, but they will appreciate that their concerns were addressed. And that means they will be willing to call in an actual emergency instead of saying that cops don't do anything.
