I grew up in southwest Detroit. I use to goto the club the basement which is in a old church where Eminem had his battle to get him to fame. He grew up on Detroit warren border. If u weren’t from Detroit u wouldn’t know u were in a different city,and making it in Detroit is a accomplishment in its own. He more than deserves everything he gets. I live a few minutes away from Detroit and I’ll tell you why.
Probably contrary to what you might know, and having visited Detroit a million times and lived in the area my whole life, it’s because it’s a good area to live.
There are bad spots in Detroit but it’s gotten way better in the past decade plus.
Even tho Detroit gets a bad rap for being dangerous.
Most people in Detroit and the area surrounding are really cool and down to earth working class people.
When it comes to spending money, that’s a good question!
Eh you’re not really wasting it. Its a house so ur gonna use it for sure and its also an asset. Someone like Em could buy the property in cash so there’s no mortgage and a house like that is def gonna go up in price. When he moves out he’ll probably make more $$ on the house than he spent buying (not incl insurance, taxes, remodeling, etc.)

Because of my job, I have access to almost the entire state of Michigan's public records. According to them, Eminem's house on Winkler Mill Rd actually sold for $1.9 million.
Public records also show that the house in Clinton Twp isn't actually his main residence. His home in Sherman Oaks, CA is his primary.
His childhood house has actually been torn down.
Also, Zillow's "zestimates" are very well-known for being way off in the real estate world, so it's nothing to really go by.
I thought his childhood home burned down and that people picked up the remaining bricks from it and put it on E-Bay.
Not from what I heard. I'm pretty sure they tore it down. People probably did go and steal the bricks though.

I lived in Detroit twice and walked past Eminem's childhood home at 19946 Dresden Street often. And, yes, it's near 8 MIle Road which is the big cross-street north of Dresden. That house got torched, not demolished. I've spent a lot of time around there. It's not the safest area either.
