That's what makes Benicio del Toro such a great actor. He's able to convey emotion so very well with not only his facial expressions and his voice, but also with his body language and hand gestures. That said, in 'Traffic', 'Sicario', and 'Soldado' his expression is usually minimal, and that can often be where the greatest emotional impact exists. He's the grand master of "less is more". He often creates the greatest emotion with the least expression. However, in films like '21 Grams', 'Jimmy P', and 'Things We Lost in the Fire' he's very expressive, verbally and physically, and he's magnificent! Whether a painting, music, film, dance, or a TH-cam video, whatever we create, the goal is to evoke an emotion, be it passion, empathy, happiness, sympathy, fear, excitement, dread, anger, or ecstasy. If not, then the painting, the film, the music, etc., becomes like a bare wall: You know it's there, but you don't really experience anything.
