Just recently got into astroneer and my base is cool but lacking in automation. Definitely gonna look into building something like this! Would love a full tutorial as the repeaters and stuff in this game confuse me a bit 😂
Good stuff man, I probably won't make a step by step tutorial but just start doing some simple stuff and you'll eventually get the hang of it, It's fairly intuitive.

Like other comments, I am intrigued as to how you got a game generated landing pad on top of a large (B?) storage silo. Please explain. Haha sounds like I need to make more astroneer videos, I just mined under the landing pad (it dosn't fall down) then placed the storage silo on the ground under it. It just clips through.
This setup is beautiful! How did you get the count repeater to be at one with an empty platform? Mine starts are zero and that messes up the timing of things. Thanks for the help!
How do you get the first platform to be level with the ground? Whenever I try to terraform the ground around it, it just jumps out of place. I don't know if this was caused by an update or if I'm doing something wrong?
Not sure which platform you're referring to, all of the normal placed platforms will jump out of place if you terraform under them. Any placed platform in the video will have had the terraforming done first then the platform placed down after that.
@@Tamrak_ I'm talking about the one that's basically the start of the whole system. The one on which you stop your truck. It looks like you placed it and then terraformed the ground around it to sort of close it in
i did everything correctly and ye pretty much 1:1 ur setup tho my auto arms that are the chain ones sometimes takes the resources faster than the one that should take it
@@Tamrak_ thank you tho i manage to do it by myself xD, you can put 1 thing in the storage put away the storage sensor take the thing from the storage and put the storage sensor you've just grab to the storage
Yeah some of the hostile plants will drop seeds that grow a similar plant but it's not aggressive, usually a different colour too. Watch out though cause some seeds that they drop grow plants that do attack
Yeah so Ive just got an auto arm filtering out quartz onto a medium storage silo like any of the other filters. The medium storage silo has an empty/not empty storage sensor on with a count repeater otop of that (set to 2). The count repeater then wires onto two auto arms which are on alternate states (i.e. one is on one is off). One of the auto arms outputs straight to a large resource canister while the other outputs to a furnace and another arm takes the glass and puts it in it's own canister. So basically when a quartz comes into the sorage silo it switches the arms so that the next one that comes in goes the other way. Sorry if that was a bit long winded, hopefully you could understand :)
Yeah makes sense and thanks for responding! I've been doing some testing and reduced the smelting apparatus down using the portable smelters to make the whole section less bulky. Love this idea, thanks for sharing :)
I would love a tutorial! A system that smelt, sort, and even save a buffer of raw resources would be awesome!

The easiest way would be to activate it once with a button/proximity repeater
Yeah like Austin said i just activated them all with a button repeater before using them.

When I log in the system breaks. I have to re attach all the wires every time I log in. Do you know of a fix?
Not sure mate, I've never had this happen when logging in, only when moving the source of the wires around.
I just have a big mountain of items laying on the ground.
New to the game, what's the big platform the shelter is on? I know about the broken ones that double as landing pads but never seen this one?
It's another ruin you find around, I think it's fairly rare, like 1 per planet

haha yeah it's very pricy to be fair. I had small resource canisters at the start then slowly switched them out for large resource canisters

There are not that much astroneer tuto or video that show mechanic, you’ve done well on it and you should do more

How are your plants not attacking you?
The ones I have planted are all peaceful variety's.

I believe with the best drill modifier you can actually drill it out.

Yeah one of the ones you find about, once you remove all the romoveable junk the only broken looking part of it is the walkway which I covered over

Yeah I haven't played since they added the portable smelter but I can imagine it will be really nice for making systems a lot cleaner.
