I highly recommend Monster and Guardian of the Sacred Spirit. They both treat the viewer as a mature adult who doesn't need hand-holding expositional dumps that drag on for entire arcs. They both lack fanservice, instead replaced by well-written characters and a well-layered plot.

I prefer Patlabor TV to the Oshii stuff. The original OVA was fine and the first movie is good but the second is just a bland remake of the final episodes of the OVA with BEAUTIFUL animation but poor pacing. It just becomes another vehicle for Oshii's dry philosophizing which is fine if you're into that.
The TV timeline (series plus second OVA) has much better character development and for me personally is just a more entertaining package overall. No one's ever blended the slice of life and mecha genres better. That said, all of Patlabor is worth watching if you have the time.

Around the 11:15 mark there is a very abrupt transition. It's almost like you keep talking and just fade it out. It might be a petty thing to point out but the video could be a lot better if you clean up the transitions and possibly plan out your takes better.

ok look at attack on titan , its really mainstream and people think it has no real story, but if you read the manga and watch season 2 of AOT , its phenomenal, its main stream , but its genuinely good show
