Yea I was at that contest when I was 16 . Standing front row with my crew left side of the stairs . I witnessed greatness that day and it was one of the coolest experience of my 30 year old life .
@@wadewatts5532 P. Rod was there too , he was going to compete but he took the one attempt of the set and rolled his ankle . After the contest was over we all went up the set and took photos with the pros . P. Rod was at the back icing his ankle and Shecks signed my shirt and showed me the trophy he received from winning .
Sheckler stole the show during a Volcom demo back in late 2000's in Illinois. I have lost footage.. but he was trying to kickflip over the guard rail off a f'n 6 foot drop in ramp. The drop had to have been like 9 or 10 feet to pavement all together, and he was f'n relentless. 🙌 While Dustin was showing off drinking beers, wasted af 😂.. mob, me included, knocked his pack out his hand. Stole a couple Parliaments 🙄 Yeah that being said, Sheckler was there to ENTERTAIN!.. and that he did 100%.
I was there that day, I’m pretty sure it was Chris Troy that was trying to land the tre flip before shecks landed it. He looked kinda bummed haha. I thought Sierra Fellers was gonna break himself on switch heelflip attempts. I also chad Fernandez rolled up and was putting wild shit down on the rail. Also Andrew Langi front feeble, front blunt, and nosegrind so easily like it was a flat bar
Dude Langi killed that spot with absolute steeze. Made it look like it was nothing. Sheckler deserved that win though because he made his tricks look easy too and popped the shit outta em.
Please get the BATB 12 champion James Giffin on he deserves a sport and a very interesting story from skating in a shed in wet Ireland to winning BATB 12.
Feel like Ryan the most humble dude in the world now or makes it a point to not say anything ppl can hate on. Hope he just that humble. Ain’t cool all the hate he got for em toro. I think if didn’t get hurt before he could have hit it. And he did try and he was young n kinda baited into saying he did it. Feel like dude knew he didn’t do it yet or he would have heard about it. Also think he was thinking ya I can do it and it came out ya I did it. And mtv the reason his show was the way it was. Skaters love to hate. 😂but are all hyped up lil Wayne got made pro and got the whole ceremony to boot. Just because he hasn’t gave up after 10+ years, somehow that means your a professional 🙄
Ryan won because he did the most variety of hard tricks down stairs and on rail he won easily nobody came close to him.Even Nyjah in his prime would of struggled beating him in that contest but Nyjah has done big flip tricks down stairs but could out do Ryan on rail.
Please keep adding the clips of the part you are talking about in the show this makes it 100 times better.
keeps me watching. before i would venture away to find the parts and just quit watching the interview
I was in the literal first generation of kids skateboarding who saw Sheckler and Nyjah and knew immediately I’d never go pro.
True 😂
😂😂😂 P Rod did it for me...just a year older than me and landing crazy shit switch 😅 time for a new dream
@@Hugodra PRrod was my idol. I had so many pairs of his SBs
exactly what this took me back to watching this
@@christovrea4273 he was definitely ahead of his time....a newer version of Koston... I'm just glad we get to experience all of these guys..

Thank you for pulling clips.
You guys added clips!!! 🥰
Sheckler is one of the most athletic dudes I've ever seen skate
100%
Grant Patterson had one of the gnarliest tricks that day
Agreed. He Gapped it so far!
Totally. That angle was perfect too, blast off
What he do?
his blind part is still legendary
@@chino_bean9631 nollie front 180 but times 1000
andrew reynolds fs flip over the rail was HUGE also. the boss and shecks both killed it.
well clipped
This was so insane, i watched this over so many times before going out and skating back in the day. Shecks was inspirational
Ryan earned that! Him and Prod were the biggest skaters where I’m from and at that time in life
*a small 18*
Sheckler 2022

Legendary day. Sheckler absolutely killed it.
People started looking at Sheckler different that day
Watched that Bust or Bail so much growing up
Ryan is so dope. Pure skater.
That shit was gnarly in person

The thing is it was at the time where he was hated for being a sell out, but he shut them all up with his skating
We didn't even know the contest was going on, we were just gonna do some skating.. So anyways I started blasting...
Seems like Thrasher hasn't done any of those Bust or Bail events in many years. I hope they aren't going soft because of the Coronavirus.
Skating starts at 1:46
Something about Shecks, he has the pop, the consistency. Very rarely have I seen the energy he puts in. Even Nyjah doesn't come close imo
Sick ass trey flip
Who front blunt fakied it? That was insane
If mike mo hears about that rail hes gonna try to turn it into an nft
I have the skateboard he used it’s broken now haha signed by Ryan too to confirm it

For me Reynolds fs flip, but Sheckler did shut the place down
I seen the clips … must been an honor to bust with andrew Reynolds

I used to hate on him when I had that “core skater” mentality lol but when I saw this I stopped being a hater lol
First like and first comment it was super cool meeting you at granite regional park the other weekend super chill skater
