How Good is Stockton Beach? Mixed Bag Surf Fishing

I cut my teeth on Beach Fishing many years ago on the south coast of NSW so it is a pleasure to get back into it.
Stockton Beach is probably NSW' most famous beach for fishing and I had never fished it before and Scott only once so today we decided to do an early morning run from Sydney to Stockton and conduct a bit of a recon mission for future fishing.
The fishing was OK with a few different species encountered like Salmon, Tailor and Bream and we now have a better knowledge of the beach as a whole.

hey bro been there 6 times and haven’t caught jack all how do i find the gutter at the beach ??

Go at low tide and you'll spot them. Usually best to fish them 1½ ours either side of low tide, and preferebly sunrise you'll get good whiting and flathead.

Also reading the waves will help you see where the gutters are. Go during daylight at low tide and you'll see how the water behaves around the gutters

Thanks mate, much appreciated. Only actually fished Stockton the once (this vid) so not yet. Got a few plans in the works though to give it a go for a Jewie but I believe the beach is closed to 4wd access at the moment due to the storms and floods?

Heya mate, mine is an old Daiwa Heartland HLA1202MRS. It is a 12', 10-20lb rod. Don't think you can get them anymore and it has served me well for many years.
