Lisa a couple of things Over all well done However here are a few tips If you pour the jugs on their side its easier, when loosening the filter just remember to push towards the engine to loosen, You should ue a wrench or socket on the drain plug and preferrably torqued to spec You will be sure you tightened it and be able to remove it next time and it wont back off. Also while the oil is draining you should be doing an oil sample. Also this is what is known as a B Preventive Maintenance in a fleet So along with your A list you need to go under the truck to grease suspension steering driveline slacks and cams Look for loose and hanging wires hoses Check for suspension defects and all wear items
Good Job, I also put oil in the new oil filter before putting it on. Just something I was told by an old gentleman to do. And like Truckladders said, pouring the jugs over the side is easier
There is absolutely nothing not to like about this lady! She is smart, qualified, and just fun to watch. So enjoyed her experiences on Ice Road Truckers. Glad she has this channel. Wishing her nothing but success in her new venture.
LISA .............................. You need to Pre-Fill the new Oil Filter before Screwing it on. You don't have to fill it to the top, just fill it enough so your Engine will be Happy when you start it back up, that is ALOT of oil it has to Pump to get that filled back up. Take your time as it will soak into the filter material for a few mins and the Level will keep Dropping. 3/4 Full after soaking for a few Mins is MUCH better than a Dry Filter at Start up Good Luck :)
There you go!! You did it!! I did mine own o/c on my own big truck back in the day and also did my husband's and my pickup truck.. 😊 Now a mechanic does it for me
In my younger years i worked at several truck stops and all i did was oil changes and tire work. Never lose the copper gasket on the drain plug, never leave the oil filter gasket still on the engine, on some engines there is Running and Stopped markings on the dip stick, dont forget the Luberfiner filter if so equipped, some trucks have filters inside the power steering reservoir. I prefill most of my filters. And yes coolant filters do need to be changed.
Awesome job I made a long metal Rod about 1/4” sharpened the end put a funnel up with a tarp strap under my filter slide the rod up past the funnel tap on it down by the creeper and puncher the oil filter let drain. I also put a quick drain on oil pan flat face connection loc tite it into the pan snap a hose on she drains pop it of new filter pour in oil works great ran in North AB oil roads for year the quick drain fitting sticks out a bit never had a rock take it off has been my only concern makes oil changing a breeze have them on all out farm equipment also pick ups check it out
I used Rotella too . Leave the oil filters on , take a punch & knock a hole thru the bottom & let them drain before you take them off . Much cleaner that way !!
either the side or the top, that way air can go back in, without it going glug, glug. Think of someone "granny from the Beverly hillbillies" drinking moonshine.
Also I'll put a funnel at the bottom of the filter to direct it straight into the drain pan instead of splattering all over especially if the wind is blowing working outside. That looks like a Dream shop to me.
There's not many girls that will work on there on truck out in the cold are any time and drive in Hazzard conditions really a very special girl and very beautiful doing her job congratulations for hanging in there champ great work
Oh Lisa !! Didn't anyone tell you to fill the filter before you put it on ? And VERY IMPORTANT, when you change your 2 fuel filters, they MUST be filled or else you can have one hell of a time re-priming the system. I've been enjoying watching you since you very first appeared on IRT !! So happy for you doing your own thing. I'm not criticizing by any means, just trying to help. I'm a 72 yr. old guy, former owner/operator of dump trailers and triaxle dumps in N.H..You go girl, we'll be following you on your new journey 😊
That’s an ISX Cumapart. One of the only redeeming things about one is the electric lift pump to prime the filters and to make sure it’s always gonna start they like losing their prime a lot. When you change fuel filters cycle the key 6 or so times let the pump run till it quits each time and the Cumapart will start!
If you take and punch a hole in the bottom of your oil filter before you pull it off you can avoid making a mess if you lose your grip. Makes removal easier also prefill your oil filter so you don't have a dry fire on start up other than that great job.
good job Lisa, but don't forget to change the fuel filter too,the chassis is going to need some grease and the throw out bearing on the clutch needs some grease too
Great job and the guys are right about punching a hole in the filters and let them drain first but no matter how hard you try you're still gonna get dirty! I always did 🤬! Hope your new career goes well for you. Stay safe, good luck and God bless 👍👍
Its great to see you doing your own servicing, but dont forget, when 'most' mechanics do services, they are also looking out for other things that may be amiss on your truck, look into what else to check over when doing oil changes etc
Great job Lisa. Them guys are right about puching a hole in the filters and filling them up it is easier that way and make sure you check the tranny's fluid and rear end fluids and grease All the fittings and check the air pressure in All the tires then your All set. It's great to see you doing your own maintenance on your truck then you know how your truck handles and sounds keep up the great work can't wait to see more videos and keep on trucking it's a awesome job
Hey Lisa !! You have a bunch of reading to do in the comment section so will leave that !! Great to see that you are determined to make an O/O !! Have a good week & Thanks for the updates !!
Handy tip, Write the date ON the new filter when you renew it, you may write it down in youre log, but if its on the filter you will know. Good job Lisa, buy a pack of blue gloves for when you do Oil changes, or when you have a fault and have no wash place to clean up. When you say "Owner Operator" do you feel proud Lisa?, should do. Glad things are doing well, Lots of Love from UK. x x
I recommend filling the oil filter and then installing. It's obviously going to be heavier ie more difficult to install ,but having the filter filled before start up is good.
@@allenermey8857 I agree , proper way is dry.motor is not dry on start up, oil is still on bearings and other parts. oil pressure is up in seconds. when you pour oil in filter in the center hole that goes directly to your bearings and everything else unfiltered.
You have been driving truck for that many years and that is your first oil change wow thats hard to believe anyway iam so happy you have a new truck 🚚 good luck Lisa and be safe God bless
Awesome Piterbuilt. A pair of classic round quad headlights and it can be beauty. I used to be a truck dispatcher but I always liked the trucking more.
Yes definitely punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and drain it before taking it off. It's also a good idea to torque the oil drain plug to mfg specs to to make sure it doesn't come out later.
First off, thank you for making TH-cam videos, I've been a huge fan of yours since the first season you were on IRT and it's nice to see what you have been up to... Second, as a huge fan yours and of other youtube truckers, may I suggest maybe some 15-20 minute videos and maybe mix it up a little, some driving, some maintenance, and some business ( youtube fans really love that stuff)... Either way, keep the shinny side up and keep it between the ditches driver... ✌️
Hi Lisa 👋🏻! A new oil filter, DELO engine oil and it's perfect 👌🏼! It will be interesting to see the change of air filters, given the size! See you soon ! Nice video as always! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Pree fill the oil filters, noth through the center hole but the hole around the center hole in the filter. This will ensure you filter the oil that you pre fill the filters with. Can never be to sure
Should have put new oil in the filter before fitting. A lot kinder on the engine when starting up, because there will be no oil circulating until the filter is full of oil.
Most important thing, put the drain plug back in before you pour all your expensive new oil in. Yep, I wanted my first (and what turned out only) new truck to last a long time so I bought the best oil for it's first oil change. I was wondering why six qts did not fill it up so I put in one more. Only then did I check. Not a kid, I was 36 and had changed oil in our farm vehicles hundreds of times over the previous 18 years. I was more careful after that and drove that 88 Silverado for 16 years.
Unless you're wanting to keep those containers, turn them upside down in the funnel and poke a hole in the bottom with a knife or an awl. Oil pours right out that way. That big funnel you can do two at a time. Best regards from Indiana.
Nice job. I see you have a ton of tips. You'll learn how to make it easier as you go. But, never use Channel locks on your drain plug. Use the appropriate socket with a torque wrench.

Great video Lisa

Babygirl it won't be long, and you'll be a A-1 mechanic! Excellent job!...😁👍
Very good job .Thank you for sharing
Nothing like maintaining your own equipment. You can take pride in what you do.
Great job changing your oil in your semi Lisa
There you go!! You did it!!

Poptart Gone Trucking. Interesting
Also I'll put a funnel at the bottom of the filter to direct it straight into the drain pan instead of splattering all over especially if the wind is blowing working outside. That looks like a Dream shop to me.
I'm 69 and I have used nothing but Delo oil in my big truck and pickup sense the came out with Delo brand. Good job Lisa.
you can wear some throw away rubber gloves to keep the hands a little cleaner if you wanted
Great job Lisa keep up the good work
Hi again Lisa, I miss the videos thanks for coming back
Thanks Lisa for your awesome video thanks again
Lisa you got this. Just put some oil in the filter before you put it on. Take care and have a blessed weekend and I'll see you on your next video.
Good work Lisa! Thanks for sharing ,love and blessings and keep on truckin!
You know Lisa , you are showing more knowledge wanting to learn and hands on than most apprentice I have felt with .... Good on yah girl
Nick G-D, Lisa learned a lot from Darrell.
There's not many girls that will work on there on truck out in the cold are any time and drive in Hazzard conditions really a very special girl and very beautiful doing her job congratulations for hanging in there champ great work

such a mechanic is a treasure wow super video Yes best Lisa Kelly
good job Lisa, but don't forget to change the fuel filter too,the chassis is going to need some grease and the throw out bearing on the clutch needs some grease too
good job Lisa, keep the videos coming
Great job and the guys are right about punching a hole in the filters and let them drain first but no matter how hard you try you're still gonna get dirty! I always did 🤬! Hope your new career goes well for you. Stay safe, good luck and God bless 👍👍
Well done nice work 👏 👍 👌
Lisa, honey, torque that drain plug!
I manage maintenance at Wasilla Concrete, i do this on a fleet of trucks every season here in Wasilla.
Needs a fumoto drain valve.
Just like a pro! ✌️💕💕
Its great to see you doing your own servicing, but dont forget, when 'most' mechanics do services, they are also looking out for other things that may be amiss on your truck, look into what else to check over when doing oil changes etc
Thanks for making videos. I like to be sure that I can get the filter to loosen up before I punch a hole in it

Good work and looking lovely
Thank you Lisa o/o 👩🔧🔧👑
In agreement with punching a hole in filter to drain. Well done. And best of luck on your new career 👍
Make sure to fill the filter with oil before installation Lisa it helps the new oil get to the head quicker. 👍
I recommend filling the oil filter and then installing. It's obviously going to be heavier ie more difficult to install ,but having the filter filled before start up is good.
Cumins recommends installing filters dry to prevent oil system contamination
@@allenermey8857 I agree , proper way is dry.motor is not dry on start up, oil is still on bearings and other parts. oil pressure is up in seconds. when you pour oil in filter in the center hole that goes directly to your bearings and everything else unfiltered.

😊😊 I am proud of you Lisa 🙂🙂👑
You have been driving truck for that many years and that is your first oil change wow thats hard to believe anyway iam so happy you have a new truck 🚚 good luck Lisa and be safe God bless
Proud of you. Wish I was half as strong and smart like you.
Lisa Kelly you frigin Rock , I have been a fan for years, great content and keep it coming
Its truckin we learn something new everyday🙂
Good job Lisa! You did something I don't do. I let the help change it.
Becel butter mix with white sugar clean your hands spotless. Keep its between lines think SAFETY and put SAFETY FIRST LISA .
Awesome Piterbuilt. A pair of classic round quad headlights and it can be beauty. I used to be a truck dispatcher but I always liked the trucking more.
Great job! Your the reason I taught my wife to drive truck!
Yes definitely punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and drain it before taking it off. It's also a good idea to torque the oil drain plug to mfg specs to to make sure it doesn't come out later.
Use a Fumoto drain valve. Just open it drain close it
👍 Think Cummins is 35ft lbs on the oil plug torque. Definitely torque to spec, You don't want that coming loose somewhere & losing all your earl
You go girl

Nice Lisa!!!! Hammer down girl!!! 👍👍👍👍
I would have put a half gallon in that filter. At least three quarter full.
Pree fill the oil filters, noth through the center hole but the hole around the center hole in the filter. This will ensure you filter the oil that you pre fill the filters with. Can never be to sure
Good to see you back Lisa, missed you ! 🖤🖤
Should have put new oil in the filter before fitting. A lot kinder on the engine when starting up, because there will be no oil circulating until the filter is full of oil.
Turn the oil can/drum on it's side will help loads
Royal purple.....love it....
Don't forget to put oil in the filter helps wear and tear when starting the engine
great to see you good luck.
Lisa much love and respect from n.c ma'am Darryl would be very proud 💯❤️ safe travels

Une super pro. Je l'adore. Un admirateur français (ex transporteur). Formateur 🚛. La bonne route et prudence 😉. 🚛🤩
You did good !
oh wow, bumper length video lol. Keep up the great work Lisa.
Unless you're wanting to keep those containers, turn them upside down in the funnel and poke a hole in the bottom with a knife or an awl. Oil pours right out that way. That big funnel you can do two at a time.
Best regards from Indiana.
I used to drive a punch or screw driver through the bottom of the filter and drain it first. Way less mess
U ROCK LISA!!!
Look how clean your new oil is
Great job.
Go go go Lisa👌 from Herefordshire UK
Awesome! Keep them videos coming.
Good video, Lisa
Delo for the win lol
Great job
Nice job Mike 😀
Fill the filter!
Rub oil on the entire rubber seal (makes the oil filter come off easier when the next change is due)
Good job! Time for your own "Lisa" coveralls....
Nice job. I see you have a ton of tips. You'll learn how to make it easier as you go. But, never use Channel locks on your drain plug. Use the appropriate socket with a torque wrench.
Been truckin for how long now? Just now figured out how to change your oil holy hell girl.
GREAT JOB.
GOD BLESS You...
Hello great lady trucker 🙏nice vlog Kelly. I am from India . This is my first comment.
Have you ever tired lucus its a good additive i run a gallon in the oil it helps i run it in all my vehicles
Lisa I find your vlogs very informative . Cool work 👍
No sweat you got this Lisa 👍
I think it is so cool 😎 that you can do that yourself.
wow!
Put a little grease around the seal on the oil filter so next round oil filter should come off easier??
Love the video and that really is a good looking truck !
well done, greetings from germany
A little hello from France..😋😋🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Hi Lisa , wish you were still doing IRT I miss that show . Can’t wait to see what’s going to be happening
Lisa I've been watching you for years 10 years maybe but can you make the videos longer they are so good, all the best James
