I have a urostomy and still have learned a lot from you! I’ve had mine for almost a year and a half. I’m in an ostomy support group that is put on by the Mayo in Phoenix but I just started watching TH-cam videos and have learned even more tips and tricks! Thanks for sharing your journey!

I just wanted to thank you for all your videos Amber. My daughter is having her colon removed next week, and we are both trying to absorb all the information about having an ostomy. I have Crohn’s, and both my daughters have ulcerative colitis but this is our first experience with surgery in the family. Every time I think of a question, I find the answer (and more) in your video playlist. It has been so helpful. I ordered the samples you recommended, and a Coloplast representative called me and is going to send me additional samples. They were so nice. Thank you so much 💗.

@@OstomyDiaries Thank you so much Amber 💕. You have been such an inspiration through all of this. I love your positivity and honesty and the way you convey such useful information in very brief videos. I don’t have the patience to watch really long videos 😀. By the way, Entyvio has put me in remission for almost 6 years (knock on wood). I wish the same for you!

Connie, how is your daughter getting on? I have slow transit bowel, and having consulted with three surgeons who have all said ileostomy is best for me, I have no choice but to have ileostomy (would have preferred colostomy). I am feeling very scared so any information would be appreciated.

@@thewisepowerchair2369 She is doing great! Her recovery went well. She was released from the hospital after only 3 days. She was eating mainly Cream of Wheat and Rao soups (I would blend them in a blender for her so there were no pieces of celery, etc) for the first few days at home (along with drinking lots of water) and she was fortunate to have an easy time with her ostomy and her output. She is so happy now and feels like she got her life back. No more pain. She had lost 30 lbs before the surgery but gained 20 back rather quickly in the weeks afterward. She eats most everything but is careful with foods like corn or fibrous raw veggies. She has learned to chew and eat more slowly. I would recommend that you follow the r/Ostomy subreddit on Reddit. There are a lot of ostomates there who share their experiences and offer great words of encouragement! Best of luck to you - I hope you find great health and happiness!!

Great video Amber, I'm from the UK and I swapped to sensura Mio concave 2 piece system by trying samples, A lot of people don't understand or know they can get samples to try and then if it works better they can swap to an appliance/product that works better for there body type i swapped no problems at all I have stayed with Coloplast and my surgery was 24 months ago great video Amber😀.just wanted to add im not saying that other products are bad im just saying that Coloplast Sensura Mio works better for my body type.

Another beautiful, informative and very helpful and beneficial video explained with pure professional clarity. So much variety to select from too. Thank very much indeed, Amber. I have a sub-total colectomy with end ileostomy (since 29th May this year) and gained so much knowledge and reassurance after watching this. Wishing you and your family and loved ones A Very Healthy, Enjoyable and Happy New Year 2022. God bless you all. Thank you very much indeed for your help and support.
