      Gio lol.
Why Van Halens Frankenstein was a copy of some1 elses guitar.
      1/6/2023:
      (Written earlier)
      Building 2nd Gen Frankenstrat.
Dont have much money. I must nail thdesign 1st take.
Learned2read thscrypts Satans avatars in our matrix starting 1984.
Entire matrix pretty much revolves around me. (Anymore, increasingly)
      Why?
I function as Lucifers REPLACEMENT& Yahweh taught me how2burn Satans dimension (computer program) with quartz crystals so I MUST be hidden from public view. Thus Satan decieves people with avatars (Plasticines)
Worlds best guitar was my signature design& Van Halen/Floyd Rose built it named FRANKENSTRAT.
Satan name it that = Ed was a fabricated entity. Its code.
What i found out was Ed was (victim2) a computer program Satan used 2whitewash me.
(doesnt mean Ed was evil initially)
Ed was a human @1st. Apparently he was eventually killed &cloned.
His late models cmpletely went 2rubbish bcuz when I sold my guitar 1988 Satan began sweeping Ed under thrug&didnt need him anymore.
      Frankenstrat:
      Had widest/flattest fretboard in thworld.
THAT was thsecret 2why Ed could play so good.
100's of 1,000's peeps researched Franky they@ Ed all miss thpoint 2what made it so good. (super wide flat neck.)
ENTIRE guitar built by me? is going 2b ridiculously good.
Necks RADIUSED by Satan 2cripple guitarists vs FLAT/WIDE fretboard both a dream2work on easiest2play. Fingrs dont bumping in 2each other.
ACTION (strings) can be lowered much more.
      (High action = HELL 2play.)
Lol I figure out most all this stuff off thbat just fondling my Aria Pro2 ZZ Custom day I bought it. I am just that good.
Note Ed built copy my ZZ called thSHARK. Again code. Eds job was 2say "that was a failed experiment."
Lucifer saw in2 time knew I'd become famous with ZZ 1993 &I was supposed 2look like a Van Halen wannabee.
      (I also invented "Zero nut")
World fastest guitarist plays? My neck ofcourse. WITH Zero nut. (Shawn Lane.)
Atkins, Les Paul, Hendrix, Steve Vai = widest flat necks.
Lucifer switched from Ed to Steve Vai& Michael Angelo Batio as my avatar whitewash guitar messiahs.
Satan knew I would build a guitar now. b4 I did. So, Batio built it recently closest 2my specs. Satan had him paint it 2look like sh*t 2make me look bad lol. (Photo)
I just figured I could build 1myself much MUCH better &same price (Lucifer lowered thprice from $850 2$500 trying get me 2buy it AS i was clicking on it lol.)
I suppose up untill now he thought i didnt know about his avatars. Well I do.
Batio is code for Bat Sergio.
Mike knows all about me& all of this avatar sht bcuz I told him ling time ago.
His Primal Red (pictured) jas a 43mm wide nut. Widest neck in thworld that also HAS my signature Floyd Rose Tremelo.
      th-cam.com/video/hb5QaCfm7bg/w-d-xo.html
People never did figure out what made th Frank so good. It had a 44m plus nut at the tuners. &it had a 17" radius. That is why was so easy 2play.
(Q7 radius means was vry FLAT)
Ed liked wide necks thwn. But later started making tiny narrow necks cuz he said ("its easier to play")
That second comment was likely made after "he" was killed &cloned.
I have that skinny neck guitar.
      Its a BITCH 2try 2play.
This was threal Ed speaking on how he built thguitar here:
Note Satan made sure Ed would constantly try hide what made thFrank good. Les, Batio, Ed, Lane, Vai, none of them give u thTrue keys 2 thFerrari. It was the wide 17" radius necks lolmost.
This 2ndGen Frank I am building as of 1/6/2023 is going 2b cmplete revamp not jus Flod&neck. Gonna list it on ebay see if any1 bleevs my story. If not Satans plan wrked.
Not 1person ever had a fading clue the whole point of th Floyd Rose. Neither did Floyd. I made it that way so i could loosen broken strings &clamp them back in 2save money lol.
      th-cam.com/video/Cqw299BIh6Q/w-d-xo.html

About 5 years ago I had chapter when I serviced many Ibanez Prestige guitars and was pleasantly surprised about the quality of craftsmanship. Since then I've been using Ibby Prestiges as my main tools on the road and in studio and I've another one on the way that should arrive next month. I can even see a J.Custom in my future!

  • @HandPuppet_Official
    @HandPuppet_Official 7 ปีที่แล้ว +28

Ibanez truly does make seriously quality and precise guitars. I'd argue that there isn't much of a point for paying that much though. Their mid-range guitars are incredible for your dollar.

  • @michaelangeloh.5383
    @michaelangeloh.5383 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

These are impressive guitars, and I applaud Ibanez for delivering quality here.
But I miss the old Roadstars and the Iceman. - Not to be all snobby with "older is better", because I'm not like that.
It's just that they had some great models in the past that they've just thrown out. - I mean, even the Iceman??... I know that the RG-type is more their basic flagship, and something like the Iceman is less conventional and maybe not as "accessible", but with the Iceman they had something really unique, like Gibson has the Les Paul, Fender has the Stratocaster, Dean has the ML or whatever... But an RG/JEM type of guitar is basically just a "superstrat"... It's fine if they make them good instruments, but they should have more respect for their own Iceman, and be proud of it. - It seems that they've completely discontinued it, because I can't find it on their website. - In fact, I can't find any of their more "offset" or "extreme" models, which they all used to throw under the "X series" I believe. I guess they were just "the rest" and now they've been outcast... Sad.

    • @russellzauner
      @russellzauner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@victorramsey5575 I will see if I beat that in a few days, but I think so. I just got a '92 Starfield Altair sj custom - solid swamp ash in transparent moss/emerald green with wicked figuring front/back and wilkins trem system and no locking nut, just the way I like it. Bridge pickup already upgraded to DMZ single slot humbucker hot rails. If it plays and sounds like I think it will...well, it's basically a j custom before j custom was a thing. Thank you Hoshino for wanting to try to compete with PRS...and letting me score this for a ridiculous price and I probably could have paid less. Has the AANJ and everything...I can't even look at a guitar with a heel plate anymore...seems...inelegant and uncomfortable...
Wednesday. Wednesday we'll find out. But congrats on your RG750 - and I can confirm, the Starfield serial numbers absolutely track standard Ibanez numbering conventions because they're not Ibanez's, they're Fujigen's and both of my '99 AX7521 (yeah, I have two - the cherry fudge and gray pewter both) have not only the same numbering scheme but literally the same paint color they used on all of them to paint and seal the serial numbers under the clear coat.

Going back three years I acquired a J-Custom guitar with a 'rice-paper' finish. The guitar itself was beyond perfect... but I couldn't cope with the oriental rice-paper design, and I sold it. I really wish I hadn't. The Fuji-Gen J-Customs are the best of the best. Totally agree with Chappers comment about the J-Customs being for those who are looking for the best Ibanez without a name attached to it.

The original Edge and Edge pro bridges were the best bridges ever made. The tremolo bar had plastic clips you inserted into a groove and this meant there was absolutely no slack or disconnection when using the bar. With knife edges and new studs they warbled for a very long time showing the friction was as minimal as possible which is how you determine how well they stayed in tune for. All my Edge trems has been refurbished with new studs from Ibanez and when set up and locked down they are almost impossible to knock out of tune. What many players did was to adjust the string height without slackening the strings and removing two of the rear cavity springs before making the adjustment. I remove all the tension then pull back the trem to clear the knife edges from the studs to adjust the height for the action. Almost all owners of these type of bridges just used the allen key and adjusted the height without any consideration that you will instantly cause the knife edges to cut into the studs and then your guitar will never find its mid point ever again. My friend bought a Jem for £2200 and when he was getting ready to pay they offered to lower the action a little and he said yes OK. They come back just 2 mins later and I was shocked to suddenly realise they had just stuck an allen key in there and made the adjustment without removing all the tension from the strings and rear cavity springs and they are so called guitar techs.....? I wanted to yell at them and show them their wrongdoing however my friend was clueless and I didn't want to in anyway piss on his super happy day he had been saving up for for 2 yrs!!! If you have done the same then you have now just ruined the tuning stability of your before perfectly designed edge tremolo.
Replacing the studs is easy and they cost about £20 for a pair however the knife edges now have to be ground back and resharpened to the point where the damage had occurred. Just taking out the knife edges is a royal pain in the ass as you need a gas torch and a vice with heavy pliers to grip the and pull them sideways all the way out. I replace the studs as soon as tuning starts to be less than perfect also new knife edges can be over sharp as new so I use a flat file to just take off a little sharpness so they do not instantly cut into the studs. If you take off too much then you have overdone this but through trial an error I have got them just right and these trems stayed in tune for ten yrs without a hitch. I blame the companies for not warning customers about this as it is not intuitive for most people and I only worked this out because I used tool making machinery sometimes in my previous job working in plastics for 12 yrs. I don't know how good the new Edge trems are or the ball bearing design but the old Edge tremolos were absolutely perfect if you just added a little grease to the stud area that is in contact with the knife edges.

I used to have a MIJ RG1550 and it makes me envious how well built these modern Ibanez guitars are. The RG1550 was a unstable, moody piece with a terrible trem system that was a pain to return to pitch. I sold it to a poor unsuspecting fellow and haven't missed it ever since.

EMG has loads of pickups indeed. - Because of the internet in the last 15 years or so, they've been getting a bad reputation because a few started arguing about how they're "always the same" and "they sound bad because they compress" or whatever. - And I WILL agree that they're like the "Metal Zone" of pickups. - There are a lot of players in big bands that use them, which then made beginners reach for them as well, because they think that's what you need to get a massive "Metal" sound or something.
But EMGs sound great. - I've moved away from the active ones because I don't want to deal with the batteries and just wanted to get more experience with other ones. - But they also make X-versions of their active pickups, which are more dynamic, they also make passive ones, they make single-coils, they've even launched a range that's more "vintage".
I'm still not going to say the 81 or 85 is bad, or 60 for me, which I love, because they all sound very clear and strong and can still do softer tones (although they're very gain-y). - They definitely have properties that I would like to see in other pickups, because they're quite unique. - Maybe some people don't like those properties, but the majority who say they don't like them are likely following the herd.

They have the Zero-point bars in place in the back of the cavity as well. Those being the bridge back to the point to which it started, which allows you to do those unison bends that don't cause the bridge to move; as Lee pointed out. The Zero-point bars are removable which will allow it to behave like a normal Floyd Rose bridge.

Chappers, would you ever consider doing a video on tips for singing and playing at the same time? It's something I wish so much that I could do but I just can't get the hand of it. I'm more of a lead guitarist, which I consider a handicap in that department, but obviously you play lead and sing in your band. I'm sure other people would like to see a video about that too.
    Cheers!

At 8:00, Rob compares the RG to a JEM. He's more right than he knows, there - historically, the RG started as kind of a budget version of a JEM, without a few of the crazy things Steve Vai wanted (the monkey-grip and the lion's claw routing) and with cheaper pickups.
Also, 9:14 that knob doesn't quite adjust the feel of the tremolo - it's basically an easier way to adjust the springs to compensate for if you use thicker strings or down-tune. Normally, if you change string gauges or drop-tune a Floyd Rose guitar, you have to take the backplate off and tighten/loosen the spring-holding claw with a screwdriver or the bridge won't be level.
